Translation Selection text

I have tried translating the selection text using Goto->Translation to desired language , the problem is how to transport it to different server ???

Hi Gm,
i faced a similar problem where it does not ask for the trasport request if you transalate the text.
but if you include the text file i mean the REPT object for your program in the TR then the translation will also be transaported.
you can do this by making a small change in the seletion text in the original language and activating it and it will ask for a tr and the REPT object wll be included.
thus solving your problem as all the transalation will be also added to TR.
please let me knoe if you have any doubts.

Hi Experts,
I need to translate the selection text on my selection screen depending upon the logon language. Currently i am using the selection texts in english lang from the dictionary and i see that they are not getting translated into Spanish or German when i log accordingly into ES or DE language.
Can someone please help me with this.

Go to T.Code SE63
Transalation -> Short Text -> ABAP -> Program Text
Enter the program name & select source & target language.
And do the changes.

Translating Selection texts

Hi,
In one of my programs, I have defined a selection screen as follows
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF BLOCK bl3 WITH FRAME TITLE text-bl3.
PARAMETERS :     P_MATNR LIKE MARA-MATNR,
                 p_vKORG LIKE MVKE-VKORG,
                 P_VTWEG LIKE MVKE-VTWEG,
                 P_DATAB LIKE RV13A-DATAB,
                 P_DATBI LIKE RV13A-DATBI,
                 p_ZPLP1 RADIOBUTTON GROUP 1 DEFAULT 'X',
                 P_ZPLP2 RADIOBUTTON GROUP 1.
And in the selection text maintainence screen, I have checked the option 'Dictionary Ref' for the first four parameters.
My concern is : The selection texts do not get translated to any logon language other than English.
Do we have to maitain translation even for Dictionary referenced texts?

Selection Text Translation to different Languages

Hi Gurus,
How can i translate the texts to different languages for selection screen of a program and how can i transport the same to next systems.

You can translate selection texts of a program two ways

- [SE63|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwmobile71/helpdata/en/46/3892c1be5c1ea9e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm] - menu : translation, short texts, ABAP, Program texts
Be aware that some texts use ddic definition of data element, so the texts of the underlying data-elements must also be translated (if they are not already)
- SE11 - menu : goto, translation
- SE63 - menu : translation, short texts, ABAP Dictionnary, Data element

Translating text symbols and selection texts in abap report

Hi All,
I have devolped a report and in that translation of selction texts and text symbols is required.
Problem: In abap text elements in the report i have gone for goto->translation->and then i have tried to translate by giving the target language as DE and changed all the texts but when i am tring to save it is showing a message that 'STILL 54 OF 54 TEXTS TO BE PROCESSED'.
Alternative solution :I have tried even using se63 and selected <rept> selection texts.
but still its showing the same error ('STILL 54 OF 54 TEXTS TO BE PROCESSED'.)
from se63.
kindly give me solution for this issue.

Mass translation of text Symbols,Selection texts and Structures

Hi,
As per our Project Requirement we need to maintain Mass translations for Text Symbols, Selection Texts and structures.
Can anyone please provide a Tool or a solution through which we can maintain these translations without doing it manually
through SE63 transaction .
I have all the Translations maintained in a (.xls) file.
Is it possible to provide this (.xls) (This .xls has the Original text and the Translated text) as a input and get the translations done.
I would also like to know in which table these translations are maintained.
Please help me with this.

Hi,
There is no standard tool as such.
You can use below technique to develop your own tool.
    READ TEXTPOOL 'Program name' INTO i_source LANGUAGE 'Language'.
    DELETE TEXTPOOL 'Program name' LANGUAGE 'Language'.
    INSERT TEXTPOOL 'Program name' FROM i_target LANGUAGE 'Language'.

How to translate the text dynamically in the program?

Hi All,
I have a requirement where I need to translate the text dynamically in the program based on the Language Key retrieved.
Let's say that the Login language is 'EN' and in the logic has retrieved the language 'IT'(based on some conditions). I have to transate the text(which is maintained using the text elements) to ITALIAN(IT) Language and send the same as an email.
Could you please tell me if any Function Module is available in SAP which translates the text Dynamically in the program. or is there any other way to translate the text dynamically in the program.

you could use SET LOCALE LANGUAGE myLanguage - so you can switch to the desired language and all texts will selected from that language.

Logical Database Selection Text?

We have a report (run from the report tree) that above the selection-screen window a field with a range, SAUFNR is displayed. Someone tried to go into the Logical Database POH (SE36), selection texts were there was a '?' and changed it to 'Order Number' and were able to save it. However, SAUFNR still displays and not the text.
The main goal is to disply 'Order Number' for this field and not 'SAUFN'. It is an SAP prog with a name about a footbal field long. It executed 'Orders by finished Schedule date'.
Any suggestions?

Problem selecting text in PDF created by MS Word for Mac 2011

I'm viewing PDFs in Adobe Digital Editions 4.0, and when I try to select text, the text that actually gets selected is 1-2 lines BELOW where the cursor (I-bar) is located. This makes highlighting text extremely difficult. This only seems to happen with PDFs that were created in MS Word for Mac 2011 and viewed in Adobe Digital Editions.
If I try opening the very same PDF file in Adobe Reader, the cursor highlights text just fine. If I open it in Preview, it works fine too. It just won't work when viewing the PDF in Adobe Digital Editions.
System: Mac OS 10.10 Yosemite
I have not been able to find any info on this issue anywhere, and if anyone knows a fix or workaround, I would greatly appreciate the help.

Whoa... the extensions mean something. Your original problem (document shows bold, italic, underline, but tables and other complex formatting are lost) sounds as though the document was being exported as a .RTF, a Rich Text Format file. If you save as a .DOCM, that's a Word Macro Enabled Document. Regular Word 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011 docs are .DOCX. Regular Word 97 through 2004 docs are .DOC. You need to save that document as a .DOCX or a .DOC or you're gonna have problems later.

So, poor testing on my part. I have no idea which of the above steps fixed it but I'm guessing the 'Save As' to my version of Word.
If so, it would appear the 'Compatability' feature was not working at least on these two documents.
Word's compatibility feature is supposed to ensure that a document you produce is compatible with the target version of Word. If you turn the compatibility stuff on then you will be warned if you are using Word 2007 through 2011 and you use a feature that earlier versions of Word do not have. Microsoft shipped a translator which works with Office 2003 and 2004 and which allows Word 2003 or 2004 to read Word 2007, 2008, 2010, or 2011 documents (.DOCX) and to save them as Word 97 through 2004 documents (.DOC) _as long as they don't have any incompatible features_. Word's compatibility features doesn't do much for .RTFs or for .DOCMs.

A PDF usually consists of one to an indefinite number of clipping masks inside each other.
You need to be very carefull with selecting stuff.
So you need to read the manual on how to select stuff and on the basics of Illustrator.
On top of that: because of the complex hierarchy of PDF files, it is kind of difficult to help you without seeing anything.

Why cannot I copy selected text from a pdf file opened in Adobe Reader XI?

I had a problem when I tried to copy some selected text on a pdf file([Linux.System.Programming(2nd,2013.5)].Robert.Love.文字版.pdf) , which was opened in Adobe Reader XI as below (non-English version):
The error's text could be primarily translated as "An error occured when copied to clipboard. Internal Error." I'm not sure about the reason of this. I guess it is a problem or bug related to operating system or Adobe Reader XI. I had this problem when I used other versions of Adobe Reader though I cannot remember the exact number of versions now.
The version of XI I'm using is 11.0.0. The operating system is XP SP3.
As I was writing this question, the problem disappeared and I cannot reproduce it again now.
Could anyone help explain why the error message appearred or why the problem disappearred? If there is referrence provided, that would be finer. Thank you.

The document has been protected.
Even if it doesn't have a password, the original author has applied "plagiarism" prevention to it.
There is a program from Wondershare, called PDF Password remover, that will remove such restrictions, but I'm not allowed to recommend it, only to point out it's existence.

How to translate the text according the SAP logon

I have a report, in the selection screen have 4 radio buttons which characters are displaying in German language , if logon in DE. But not populating in other language (English, French , Italian etc ).
Whenever SAP login in u201CENu201D , is displaying an Information message u201CUntranslated texts from master language DE wi also be displayedu201D.
Please guide me how to translate the text according the SAP logon.
in GOTO-> Translation -> Original language "DE" and traget language is empty.

Did you try transaction SE63?
Translation -> ABAP Objects -> Short texts, select object type S3 and either REPT or SCRT, probably REPT since it's a selection screen.

JS - surrounding selected text with double quotes

I have a working script which places brackets around selected text in the main body of my document (not in a table), but when I changed the script to insert double curly quotes, the script wont work.
Why wont this JS work (script stalls on the var line):
var myObject = (app.selection[0].parent.constructor.name == "Cell") ? app.selection[0].parent.texts[0] : app.selection[0];
with (myObject)
insertionPoints[-1].contents = "";
insertionPoints[0].contents = "";
while this one does work:
var myObject = (app.selection[0].parent.constructor.name == "Cell") ? app.selection[0].parent.texts[0] : app.selection[0];
with (myObject)

PS The quotes are showing as three straight quotes above, but in my script they are two straight double quotes surrounding either a right or a left curly double quote.

Perhaps there's a Smart Quotes interpreter in JS? Who knows.
If you find it failing again, try inserting the quotes as Unicode values, as these should not be subject to any translating.
I.e.,
>insertionPoints[-1].contents = "\u201c";

How to mofidy the selection text for a report

Dears,
Do you know how to modify a selection text in the selection screen of a standard report, such as changing "Storage Location" in the selection screen of report MB5B to "storage Loc"?
one of a way to realize it is to modify the text of relevant data element.
except modifying the data element directly, It seems that use SE63 could do it, but I forgot how to use it.

Selection text and text elements contents not displayed

I have a language related problem
I have 2 servers .
In first server I logged in english language and the selection text and text elements are displayed in English.
The requirement is I dont want to translate these texts it should be displayed in English only even if I log into SAP with other language.
So if I log in german I see the texts in English in the first server.
But this is not the case with second.
If I log in with English I see the english texts but if I do in german I am not able to see this english text with proper contents .
Can anybody let me know if there are any settings to be done ? As its working fine in first server but not in second .

Hello Jalpa Shukla,
If you want to display the text in english language only better dont use Text-element
instead of using text element you hard the text in the program then you will display the text in same in English.
Try in this way, If not past the code i will give the solution
