Transportation module

I am a FICO consultant and need some information about the transportation module that SAP has. Is there any documentation available for this? Also, when using this, will the shipment cost of raw materials be updated automatically in the PO? Any info would be highly appreciated.

Hello FICO MOH,
Transportation Management can be used to plan and execute the transportation process and should be transparent for customers and partners at every stage.
You can get some more information here

<a href="http://www.sap.com/solutions/business-suite/erp/operations/featuresfunctions/transportation.epx">Transportation management</a>
Hope this helps.

  • Prblem In Transportation Module

    Hi Friends,
I am working on Transportation module , following the flow i.e
    SO-DO-Creating Ship.Doc-PGI-Creating Shp.cost.doc-Invoice
Please guide me for following points.
    1. Whether this flow is correct or not.
    2. I have problem in G/L Account for transportation because it shows  Account assignment not completed status in cost doc.
    3. In our project client want to do service contract with transporter , for this what I have to do.
    3. There is any facility for shortage of materil during transit.
    4. If anyone have IMP doc. please send me on my ID
    [email protected]
if necessary provide ur ID , so i can forword u screen shots whether i am getting problem.
    waitng for your reply GURUS
    Devdatta

    Dear Mr Joshi,
    1. Whether this flow is correct or not.
It is perfectly suitable, but in case of a cancellation, an additional step is required.  So it is suggested that the shipment document be carried out after the goods have reached the destination.
    2.   I have problem in G/L Account for transportation because it shows Account assignment not completed status in cost doc.
Could we kindly verify if the transportation vendor number is part of the shipment cost document.
    3. There is any facility for shortage of materil during transit.
Currently in SAP there is no provision to raise a financial recovery entry on a transportation contractor for losses in transit.
    Trust I clarify.

  • Error connecting as DBA using Data Pump Within Transportable Modules

    Hi all
I am using OWB 10g R2 and trying to set up a transportable Module to test the Oracle Data Pump utility. I have followed the user manual in terms of relevant grants and permissions needed to use this functionality and have sucessfully connect to both my source and target databases and created my transportable module which will extract six tables from a source database on 10.2.0.1.0 to may target schema in my warehouse also on 10.2.0.1.0. When i come to try and deploy / execute the transportable module it fails with the following error.
RPE-01023: Failed to establish connection to target database as DBA
Now we have even gone as far as granting the DBA role to the user within our target but we still get the same error so assume it is something to do with the connection of the Transportable Target Module Location and it needs to connect as DBA somehow in the connect string. Has anyone experienced this issue and is their a way of creating the location connection that is not documented.
There is no mention of this anywhere within the manual and i have even followed the example from http://www.rittman.net/archives/2006_04.html and my target user has the privilages detailed in the manual as detailed below
User must not be SYS. Musthave ALTER TABLESPACE privilege and IMP_FULL_
DATABASE role. Must have CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW privilege with ADMIN
option. Must be a Warehouse Builder repository databaseuser.
Any help would be appreciated before i raise a request with Oracle

Did you ever find a resolution ? We are experiencing the same issue..
    thanks

  • Work Flow & Procedure For Transportation Module Of SD

    Dear All,
Currently, we have just got SD implemented. Now, we shall like to go for the Transportaion Module i.e. Order Booking, delivery and the PGI followed by Auto Invoicing. Now, we wants to go for Transportation Module  i.e. Shipment Creation, Shipment cost calculation , Service Order Creation etc. As we are quite new to this. So, we shall like to know the complete work flow & the procedure  for implementing the same. i.e. in what sequence the various transactions to be used for Master / Transaction.
    Please advise further.
    With Best Regards,
    Sanjeev Chugh

Thanks for the reply. Definitely, i can share the details to the best of my knowledge about the transportation module.
This module is basically meant for controlling purpose. Our main objective is to control the Transportaion Charges. Vendor Invoice must be cross verified from the sytem as well.
Our Current Business Process : As per business process, we are having fixed rates per transporter for the type of vehicle and the source - destination combination. So, whenever, we are stock transferring the material from our mfg. plants to various depots, we are using various transporters (some one are specialised for south, some are spl. for east, so on and so forth). On the receipt of the material, receiver i.e. the destination branch , confirms the material receipt.. MIGO / MIRO etc. . We wants to capture the cost of the shipment as per the system and then on the receipt of the bill from transporter, the same must be cross verified.
On going thru various documents from Web, I could gather the following details :
    1. After making deliveries, we have to make a shipment document. In our case, max. time it shall be an individual Shipment i.e. Tcode VT01N. Other type of shipment be Collective Shipment, which we use very less no. of times.
    2.  We have to prepare Shipment Cost document by using Tcode VI01
    3. We have to create a service Purchase Order By using ME21N.
In our business scenario, we shall not be using legs concept as our shipments generally used to be from point to point basis.
Sir, logically, i know our needs.. But getting stuck at a couple of points ... Like where to define various rates per transporter..That's why, i named the subject as the Work  Flow & Procedure for Tpt.Module.
I shall like to request you to kindly advise further in this regard or kindly let me know if some study material is available from where i can comes to know about the exact work flow of the Transportation Module As Such.
From Where I Can Get Help on Any Tcode Usage i.e How to use a Tcode and what be its basic functionality.
    With Best Regards,

  • Transportable Module IN OWB

  • TRANSPORTATION MODULE - 1

    hi,
what is the relevance of shipment cost information profile.
we are having frieght condition types here in pricing procedure as condition types, then what is the need for giving different condition types in transportation pricing procedure.
where the actual pricing procedure condition types triggers and where the frieght condition types triggers.
(2). how many types of procedures are there for settlement to the vendors.
    regards,
    balajia

    Hi,
Shipment cost document in transportation module helps you in the following ways.
Basic purpose of shipment cost document is to settle the transport vendor for the transportation he has done. In order to settle, we need to create a service PO, service entry sheet etc. Based on which the payment will be done to the vendor.
Shipment Cost document will help you by automatically generating the Service PR, PO and Service entry sheets in the background once you click on the Transfer button, which minimises the work of creating all the above said documents.
With reference to Service entry sheets, vendor invoice can be created.
For one delivery it will not be a problem, if you do it manually. But when you do for so many deliveries on a day it is very difficult to do it manually. This is the basic reason why we use transportation module.
    Regards
    Vijay

For the sales order, create a delivery using VL01N and pick the goods. Now create a shipment using VT01N and assign the delivery to the shipment document. Make sure to enter the carrier and other details before performing the transportation planning and execution. Save the shipment document and PGI for the delivery would be done automatically.
A shipment represents a physical goods movement between two or more locations.
For the system to create a shipment, shipping-relevant deliveries must exist.
You use Transportation Planning to group pending deliveries into shipments and then to perform the shipments.
The outbound delivery documents contain routes that the system calculates in route determination, and a transportation planning date for the delivery.
Dynamic transportation planning is responsible for grouping together outbound deliveries into shipments that have at least the same route, visit plan type and the same transportation planning date.
The following restrictions can be taken into account for a shipment in Dynamic Transportation Planning:
    • Weight
    • Volume
    • Variable capacity
    • Number of stops
    • Maximum duration
    • Loading units
    Create Shipment Document
    Use
After the status of the delivery is open for transportation planning, it is possible to create a shipment document to schedule the transportation.

    4) VI01
    5) ML81N – Service Entry Sheet
    6) MIRO – Invoice Verification
Shipping docs (VT01) are created before PGI...
You cannot carry out transportation planning or creation of shipment after the goods issue has been executed. Once goods issue is done it means that the material has left your premises so there is no need for a transportation planning after it.
In case you need carry out the shipment documents at the end of the day you could just create the delivery documents during the day and at end of the day create the shipment documents and the goods issue

  • Cannot delete transportable module source location

    Hi,
we're using OWB 10.2.0.1. Yesterday we created a transportable module for testing purposes and within the wizard a tm-source- and a tm-target-location. After deployment with control center it worked.
Afterwards we tried to delete all these new objects, first unregistering the tm-target-location, then deleting the transportable module and the locations. The problem is that the tm-source-location context menu doesn't show the delete action and therefore it couldn't be deleted.
Seems like the tm-source-location is registered in the control center, but it is not visible there.
I tried it with OMBPlus commands, too. But the answers after connecting to the control center and the design repository are always the same. When trying "OMBUNREGISTER LOCATION 'tm-source-location'" the answer is "Location tm-source-location is not registered.". Using "OMBDROP LOCATION 'tm-source-location'" results in "PUB01010: Object is not deletable.".
Is there a chance to delete the location directly manipulating the owb tables?
Any help would be appreciated! Thx.
    omit

After creating the transportable module and its source and target locations I tried to register them in DEFAULT_CONTROL_CENTER, but got an error (I can't remember the issue in detail, but it was anything like a connection problem). So I created a new control center location CONTROL_CENTER1, connected to it, and got the locations registered and deployed the transportable module.
Later I figured out that I don't need the transportable module for our purposes and in first step, as I can remember, I deleted the control center location CONTROL_CENTER1. Next step was deleting the transportable module, unregistering und deleting the tm-target-location and the other steps I described before in earlier posts.
How can I get more information about the registered tm-source-location? To which (not existing) control center it is connected and so on? In RAB I can see and unregister the location, but I don't know for which control center this action takes place.
    Thx for your replies.

  • Transportable module

We are using transportable tablespaces wich is working fine!
My question is, if it is possible to somehow schedule or make a package to automate the deployment of the transportable module?

The script OWB generates can't be used as a shell script!
The other option I came up with is to build a omb script that deploys the transportable module.
When our DWH load script finishes we create a job dbms_scheduler.create_job() that executes the OMB script. 'OMBPlus.sh deploy_script.tcl'

  • DEMURRAGE - Transportation Module

    Dear Transportation Module Experts,
We are working on ECC 6.0
In Transportation module we have to configure the Demurrage charges for Transporters.
The Transporter is bound to deliver the material within the stipulated or usual time.  i.e., if the material
has to reach the destination within 5 days and the material is delivered within 5 days. There is no demmurage.
But, if the material is delivered in 8 days. There the transporter has to pay the demmurage for 3 days delay.
We want to capture the loading and unloading date & time in system. System should propose the demmurage based on some masters in shipment cost document.
One check if possible , system should not allow to take goods receipt unless the unloading date and time is duly entered.
Kindly suggest how this can be done.
    Thanks in advance...
