Transporter - Basic installation and connection questions

We have never used or installed the Transporter before.  We are currently using Tidal 5.3x and are upgrading a sandbox environment to 6.2.  I have looked at all the transporter documentation I can find and am still missing some very basic questions - plus I cannot get the "help" option in transporter to work.
WHERE do you install the Transporter and why?  CM Server?  Master Server?  Desktop?  If it is on a server, then does the user that runs it need to remote the server in order to user transporter?
I have attempted to install on each of the above, but cannot establish a connection.  When I click "test" I get error "Failed to Connect [Login failure with responseCode [404]]What should I be entering in each of the following Connections fields?  My comments indicate what I have assumed/attempted to enter and received the error above.
Connection name  - just a given name to a connection? aka TESSandboxMaster
Server Name  - what server?  master?  Is there a specific format this needs to be in?
DSP/Plug in name - I found a dsp file on my CM Server named TES-6.0.dsp - should I put TES-6.0 here?
User - network user that is a Super user in Tidal?  aka networkname\superuser?
pwd - windows pwd for that user?
Thank you for any help you can provide.

Hi Patricia,
1. The Transporter is installed on the Client Manager - the CM is essentially a web server to handle client requests, perform sacmd commands, and utility for transporting jobs from one environment to another. A Tidal user would have to be granted rights to Move Jobs to Production, and I believe Tidal user has to be able to sign on to the CM as well.
2. I've reviewed an older copy of the transporter user guide 6.1 provides instructions on how to complete those fields:
To create a connection: (on page 32)
In the Connection Name field, enter the name for the connection file.
In the Server Name field, enter the name of the Client Manager machine.
In the DSP/Plugin Name field, enter the master instance name.
The master instance name is the TES DSP or Plugin name. This is displayed from the Web UI in the Master Status pane.
In the Server Port field, enter the listening Web Service port used by the Tidal Web Client. The default is 8080 for non-secured connections and 8443 for secured connections.
In the User and Password fields, enter a valid Enterprise Scheduler user name and password.
Select the Secure HTTP option if you want to connect securely through the HTTPS protocol.
This option is enabled only if Transporter has been configured for secure
connections. Figure 8 is an example of Transporter not configured for secure
connections.

  • Starting slow... Basic installation and configuration

Let me preface by saying that I took the AM class last year about this time... Between the class materials and the online documentation, though, I'm finding that there isn't a single clear and concise "getting started" document out there. There are a lot of good things available but I'm looking for one doc that walks through the installation & configuration process from top to bottom. The best I've come across is http://www.javapassion.com/handsonlabs/IdentityWebServices/ but that appears to have been written for an older version than what is currently available.
So, I appeal to the community wisdom. Does anybody have or know of a cookbook or howto document that would walk take someone who has never seen Access Manager and walk them through the basic installation and configuration process for a Windows platform? I realize there is a lot more to be done after these steps but that'll come later.
    Thanks,
    James

  • Flash Player installation and update questions and answers

How do I verify that I have the latest version of Flash Player?
If you receive a message that tells you that Flash Player is out of date or a new version of Flash Player is available, you can verify this by visiting the Flash Player Help page with your browser.
Simply click the "Check Now" button and you'll be presented with a short message and detailed information regarding your Flash Player installation.
Where should I download the latest version of Flash Player?
Because malware authors will often employ misleading tactics to make malware look like something you should trust, it's important to get your Flash Player updates directly from Adobe.
Please verify that your Flash Player downloads and updates come from only the adobe.com or macromedia.com domains.  You can always download the latest version of Flash Player directly from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
I've selected the automatic update option in Flash Player, why do I continue to get update notifications?
Periodically, users are presented with the Flash Player update dialog notifying them that a new version of Flash Player is available for download from adobe.com.
The automatic update mechanism is used for some updates, security patches that address zero-day vulnerabilities and when users, who have selected to be updated automatically, have not updated within 45 days after a regularly scheduled update release of Flash Player.
What should I expect when I receive notification that Flash Player has an update available?
When a major update to Flash Player becomes available you will be presented with a Flash Player update dialog
After reviewing new features, pressing the Download button will open your default browser and load the Install Adobe Flash Player page.
Clicking the "Update now" or "Install Now" button will then take you to the next page which will start the download process and give instructions for completing the Flash Player install.
Finally, once the installation is complete your browser will display a page confirming a successful installation.
If you encounter installation problems, we recommend you review our Windows and Mac OS installation help documents. Further questions and information can be found on the Flash Player installation forums.
Why does Adobe Flash Player installer include the option to download additional software?
Adobe offsets the ongoing development costs of Flash Player, which is made available for free, by offering users the option to download select software from Adobe partners.
What options do I have when installing or updating Flash Player?
You have a few different options available when updating Flash Player. We recommend that you choose "Allow Adobe to install updates (recommended)" when initially setting up Flash Player
or by going into the Flash Player control panel and choosing this option in the Advanced tab.
Once selected, most updates will occur in the background without requiring any interaction. For those regularly scheduled major update releases, you will be presented with an update notification dialog
If you decide not to update, you will receive an automatic update within 45 days if you have the "Allow Adobe to install updates" option selected. Please note that when this update occurs, only Flash Player will be installed.
If you want to be notified about every Flash Player update, select "Notify me to install updates" when initially installing Flash Player or from the Advanced tab in the Flash Player control panel.
Finally, if you'd prefer not to receive any updates, select "Never check for updates (not recommended)". We do not recommend this option as we believe keeping your system up to date improves both security and stability when using Flash Player.
For network Administrators we offer additional update options, including the ability to host your own internal Flash Player update server. Please see our Flash Player distribution page and Flash Player Administrator guide for details.

Sunil, I just want to verify you are pointing me to the link under "Progress bar hangs during download / Unable to connect to server / Unable to download metafile."
If yes, then that is the file I originally downloaded based on a March post I saw here.
I just tried it again, and it (by "it" I mean the Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers from download.macromedia.com) installed 11.6.
After the installation process completed, the dialog box notified me it was version 11.6, and when I went back to, the "find version" page, 11.6 was confirmed.
I did not download the exe for Internet Explorer, as I almost never use that browser.

    Guillem,
You do need to install a web server such as IIS to utilize the DI Server.
The documentation that comes with the SAP Business One SDK on the DI Server gives you all of the requirements and installation steps as well as sample code.  You may want to look at this in the SDK Help Center that is installed with the SDK.
Also, your question on the DI Server pertains more to the SAP Business One Discussion Forum.  This forum is for individuals that are working with the SAP Business One Integration Technology.

  • Router installation and connection

From the beginning when I purchased the WRT54G years ago the installation CD never worked. I had to call tech support to walk me through on the phone (he admitted I could not install with the CD). Now when I crashed and lost or corrupted settings in my computer (XP) and there's no more warranty I have to use manual installation to reinstall. My question pertains to the step where I am supposed to "renew" my computer's ip address using the command function. If I go into command to change that ip address, won't that affect the dsl service my isp provides me, as well as internet access or programs installed on my computer? Why do I have to change the computer's ip address?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Whats the OS installed on your computers?
Follow the steps bellow to change the wireless settings on your Router Manually..

  • [Solved] installation and setup question - gummiboot and EFI

    Hi,
This is the first time i'm installing arch. i hit the below issues. hope someone can help me out. my understanding of uefi is just about an hour worth of reading or less..
(the wiki didn't mention the kernel requirement when I started installing it... now it does and i updated the beginner's guide wiki post.)
    Problem
Gummiboot#Installing says that "If you are still running kernel 3.7 or have not booted in EFI mode, creating the boot entry will fail. You should however still be able to boot gummiboot as it copies the binary to the default EFI binary location on your ESP (/boot/EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.EFI on x64 systems). "
the gummiboot part fails. gummiboot gives this error at install  saying file system is not FAT EFI, so first I got gummiboot and gummiboot-efi both using pacman. then, I provided the --path to install and now it coughs up because the latest iso isn't 3.8 yet.
Failed to access EFI variables. Is the "efivarfs" filesystem mounted?
I can see efivars but this is asking for efivarfs.
    so instead I did,
    # cp /usr/lib/gummiboot/gummibootx64.efi /boot/efi/EFI/gummiboot/gummiboot.efi
    # efibootmgr -c -d /dev/sda -p 1 -w -L "Gummiboot" -l '\EFI\gummiboot\gummiboot.efi'
how do I set this up? I'm afraid if I overwrite /boot/efi/EFI/BOOT/BOOTX64.EFI  windows might not boot.
after the installation (of course without gummiboot stuff) now when I reboot, I don't see any gummiboot menu at all because i didn't copy it to EFI/BOOT. it goes straight to windows 8 boot. during boot if I press F12 and see the menu option on thinkpad, I see gummiboot as the first entry(must be because of efibootmgr) followed by windows boot manager. When I select the gummiboot and enter, it just circles back to the same menu. I have setup the loader.conf and arch.conf as described in the wiki.
how do I set gummiboot to work? i dont mind pressing F12 and then going to gumiboot-> arch until 3.8 is out.
If this isn't possible, can I install rEFInd without messing gummiboot? looking at the dir structure of FAT EFI I think it should be possible but not 100% sure until i try it out. Also, to get rid of gummiboot, i should delete the directories, uninstall using pacman and get rid of the efibootmgr change I made, right?

sidneyk wrote:Maybe not, I use rEFInd and mount ESP on /boot/efi and copy over updated kernels and initramfs. Maybe if you are mounting ESP at /boot the kernel and initramfs get written to both places at once, I don't know. I also don't know if /boot is where gummiboot expects them to be.
I realize this has been at least partially addressed by others, but I want to make two points very explicit:
In Linux, partitions (or more precisely, the filesystems that most of them contain) are accessed by mounting them at a mount point (a directory). Thus, when you mount the ESP at /boot, the contents of /boot are the ESP. Put another way, mounting the ESP at /boot means that to read or write the ESP, you read or write files and directories under /boot. You can test this yourself by mounting and unmounting a partition that's not basic to the minute-to-minute functioning of the computer. The ESP will actually work fine for this. Unmount it from /boot or /boot/efi and then issue a mount command to mount it elsewhere (say, "mount /dev/sda1 /mnt"). Then check the files under your temporary mount point, and even copy a file there. You can then unmount it and mount it back where you normally do and look for the file you copied -- it should be there. Play with this until you fully grok it.
Gummiboot runs before Linux, and it has no conception of Linux mount points. Thus, whether you mount the ESP at /boot, at /boot/efi, at /home/fred/abadmountpointforanesp is irrelevant, so long as the files on the ESP are laid out in the way that gummiboot expects. The trickiest aspect of this for those unfamiliar with the Linux mount system is that you do not include the Linux mount point in filename references for pre-boot programs like gummiboot. That is, if you mount the ESP at /boot and place the kernel at /boot/vmlinuz, then in gummiboot, the kernel would be \vmlinuz.
Yeah, I figured this out based on the OP's response to that and thinking it through, I just never really thought about it much before now. But I will argue that the mount point /boot and the EFI partition are indeed 2 different locations. I know that once the ESP is mounted at /boot that this distinction disappears until it is umounted and something written to /boot, but while mounted as such, /boot and ESP are virtually the same, at least to the Linux system. I realize the EFI programs are ran before any OS and therefore don't really care about any OS specifics.
I wonder if the OP has confused the info between gummiboot and rEFInd (possibly from the Beginners Guide) because to me, after reading the gummiboot wiki, it just seems that it would be much simpler to just give gummiboot what it wants, i.e. ESP mounted at /boot, whether it's a separate partion or not. I'll have to take a look again at the Beginners Guide to see again the order of things there, but if it isn't, maybe it should be having the user ensure that pacman has completely updated the new system and then go on to the boot loader specifics. I was just thinking though, that the way the install medium is now, that it was automatically pulling the latest stuff down as part of the install process. I know it's not pulling testing or multilib without user intervention, but the core, stable stuff it is. That seems to be part of the confusion here maybe, 2 different versions of gummiboot with gummiboot changing some things between the 2 and maybe the kernels, too.
[EDIT] I took another look at the Beginner's Guide and it says that most users will probably want to use the [core], [extra], and [community] repos, which are enabled by default. It goes on to recommend that [multilib] be enabled for users wanting to run 32 bit programs and then reminds you to run #pacman -Sy to update the package lists, but not #pacman -Syu which would apply any changes from the repos since starting the install. Shouldn't matter much, even if the [multilib] repo was enabled because at that point no 32 bit libs have been installed, but it would matter if a user decided to enable the testing repos.
I wouldn't ordinarily recommend it, but in this case, if the OP is comfortable with the risk, then it might be useful to, at least temporarily, enable the [testing] repo and do #pacman -Syu to pull in the 3.8 kernel. Note that this is likely to also pull in other packages from [testing], but if you haven't installed X yet or any desktop environment, then what is pulled in shouldn't be too overwhelming. He can then immediately go back and disable [testing] if desired. I'm currently using testing without any issues, but there are risks to doing so.

  • Basic jsp and servlet question (JSP Model 2)

    Hi
I want to make an website where i use JSP Model 2 architecture. However I got a basic question
    1. I need to separate business logic from presentation with the use of jsp and servlets. Meaning I want no html code in the servlet. Can you give a simple example of how this can be done? If I map my implementation of httpServlet to a jsp page in web.xml and override doPost() and doGet(). The calls to the jsp page comes to the servlet as it should. I want to process some methods (calling sessionbeans or similar which in turn calls entitybeans) and then show the jsp page.
How do I show the jsp page without mixing html in the servlet as I've done below:
    doGet(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res)
    PrintWriter p = response.getWriter();
p.print("<html><body>Hello world</body></html>"); //I dont want to do //this, I want to display the JSP site
    doPost(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res)
    //doSomething
    }Message was edited by:

You should treat your servlet class much like a controller, where you can then use JSP as the view. The way you achieve this is to use the forward() method in RequestDispatcher.
    Say you've got a servlet class org.yoursite.controller.YourController:
public void doGet(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse resp)
      throws ServletException, IOException {
//Set some value for use in the JSP file associated wth me
      req.setAttribute("greeting", "Hello world!");
//Done with our business logic, off we go to the JSP file
      ServletContext app = getServletContext();
        RequestDispatcher disp;
        disp = app.getRequestDispatcher("/some/jsp/file.jsp);
        disp.forward(req, resp);
    }Now in your JSP file:
    <h1>Example</h1>
    <div>
      I just want to say <%= request.getAttribute("greeting") %>
</div>Going to that servlet now executes business logic and then points to the JSP file for the view. You can forward from servlet to servlet too if needs be. The string you pass to forward() is whatever would be in the URI of the request so any <servlet-mapping> configurations in web.xml are used ;)
There is some pretty in-depth documentation on the J2EE blueprints website, namely service-to-worker and front-controller patterns. I dare say if you're looking for this sort of code you'll want to look at the composite view pattern too (also on blueprints).

  • Basic backup and maintenance questions - ZCM 10.3.3

    Hello all,
I am looking for information and feedback about ZCM maintenance and database backup.
We have ZCM 10.3.3 running on a SLES 11 VM. I do keep a clone of the ZCM server when updates are made for backup.
I have I guess a couple of simple questions:
    1. How do I tell which database type was selected when ZCM was setup?
    2. What are the basic maintenance procedures to address database issues?
    3. What should I be backing up for the database?
I did not build this ZCM server and I need to know more. Mostly I need to do some database maintenance as workstation deletions take an extremely long time and I have read somewhere else in the forums that I should be performing DB maintenance and I just need some sort of procedure.
    Thanks,
    Steve D.

    Hi,
You can check inside the file zdm.xml to know which database you have
The file is locate at :
    On Windows
    ZENworks_installation_path\conf\datamodel
    On Linux
    /etc/opt/novell/zenworks/datamodel
For database maintenance you can check in the doc Novell Doc: System Planning, Deployment, and Best Practices Guide - Scalability, Fault Tolerance, Maintenance, and Sizing of the Database Server
You can also take a look a the disaster recovery guide because it give some info to what you need to take in backup.

DI server provides you a simple COM interface that
accepts SOAP commands and returns you SOAP reply.
The format of these SOAP messages is in the SDK
    documentation.
You should build your own web infrastructure on
    top of this mechanism.

Thanks,If I understood correctly, you want to build some thing like desktop applications that run on OS directly.
If that's the case, then I don't think it's possible! APEX run on top of Oracle DB. So users have to first install Oracle DB & then they haveto configure APEX, next they have to use APEX workspace to install your packaged application. I can't think all these setps can be done by non-technical user.

  • Installation and Connection Error with Desktop Manager and Curve 3G

I just installed Desktop Manager 6.01 and then tried connecting my Curve 3G to the system using the accompanying USB cable.. But when i try to manually install my driver, it shows an error   "THE SERVICE CANNOT BE STARTED, EITHER BECAUSE IT IS DISABLED OR IT HAS NO ENABLED DEVICES ASSOCIATED WITH IT"  now the USB is working because my phone is being recognised by the laptop and moreover in the device manager od my Vista, Blackberry is being shown... I cn see in drivers that Drivers have been installed but the drive Information such as Version, date is not available and the driver is unsigned...
Can someone tell me what exactly might the problem?? any reply will be appreciated..

I encountered the same issue, Not sure if you'll have the same results, but all i did was enable windows updates, and did an automatic driver update from the web (as in from windows updates) and after a reboot, all was back to normal.

  • BI installation and connection to DB

I'm installing BI standard edition 10g Release 2, which has discoverer plus. Do I have to install Oracle client on that machine to connect to database on another machine? Because I tried to use sqlplus in BI to connect to the database, but it always failed. I thinkI have the right tnsname.ora file. Thank you!
    AnthonyJ

    Anthony,
I think you had installed 10gAS for BI. This contains Discoverer Plus. This is true. After you installed BI, you said you are able to do tnsping right?? Then discoverer should work. But I have some doubt if you are using different tnsping bin.can you check tnsping path??
    which tnsping
then check your path for tnsnames.ora.If both are under same OH, then it should work. Try checking sqlplus with another user name and password.
    sqlplus abcd@<databasename>
    Then give password.
This gets connected, you cna try from discoverer plsu screen. it will work.

She now has a 64 bit machine. I drive imaged the old drive to the new machine and did all the hardware drivers, and it is working perfectly.
    It is vista home premium.
How can she upgrade to the 64 bit version of photoshop without breaking her installation or loosing any of her work?
If I upgrade her OS to windows 7 Pro (x64), will that be a problem?
I have downloaded the master suite trial instalation files onto my drive. My goal is to create an installation dvd set and use it to install trial versions of the various products on a couple of different machines. The entire folder structure is over 8 gig, So i need two DVDs.
How do i split the resulting un compressed master suite installation folders to two dvds so that it functions as an install dvd?
If my son ends up buying just one product (say dreamweaver), Can he unlock the copy of dreamweaver that was installed via the master suite install dvd? or does he have to uninstall the master suite copy and re-install the dreamweaver cs4 download?
If the trial expires, can he unlock it at some point later if he purchases a key?
Does each product within the master suite have its own trial expiration date based on when that particular product was installed? or once you install one product from the master suite install dvd, the date is set for all products?

She now has a 64 bit machine. I drive imaged the old drive to the new machine and did all the hardware drivers, and it is working perfectly.
    It is vista home premium.
How can she upgrade to the 64 bit version of photoshop without breaking her installation or loosing any of her work?
If I upgrade her OS to windows 7 Pro (x64), will that be a problem?
Cannot answer you definitely about installing 64 bit Photoshop but I suggest inserting the DVD and installing Photoshop only. The DVD should pick up that you're on a 64 bit OS and offer you 64 bit Photoshop.
I suggest clean installing Windows 7, rather than upgrade installing. That would mean reinstalling all software and drivers but it's the most reliable method in my experience.

    Thanks
    Jerry C
I suspect you'll struggle to split Suites to install individual products on various machines (if that's what you mean). Suites are far more than a simple collection of the individual software titles. They're tightly integrated, must be installed on the same machine together and are all tied to a single suite serial number which is unrelated to the individual product serial numbers. I believe the downloaded Suite file has to be installed as one.
I don't know of a way to burn the downloaded file across 2 DVDs.
If your son only purchases Dreamweaver, he'll have to uninstall the Master Suite and re-install the DW download.
If the trial expires, it'll keep showing a Trial has expired screen and you cannot go further. Once you enter a valid serial number, it'll launch normally.
My understanding of the Suites is that all products are integrated. Once the trial version of a single product in the suite is launched, my understanding is that the clock starts ticking for all products in the suite. That said, I have not tried launching individual products in the Trial versions more than 30 days apart.
