Trex Implementation in SAP PI 7.1

Hi All,
we have TREX server installed and integrated to SAP PI server. Can some one give me any documentation how to configure SAP PI interfaces to start doing the Index based message search and how to use Trex in SAP PI.

Try to have a clear understanding of requirements and find the best solution in SAP. Keep as much as possible everything standard and based on SAP best practices.
In PA look for a comprehensive enterprise structure. It's base for everything.
DON"T do anything through development(ABAP code) as much as possible specially in PT and PY. Try to do claculation by PCRs and Schema.

Issue in implementing the sap note 1401975

Hi All,
I am trying to implement the sap note 1401975 in the 4.7 version( SAP_APPL 470, Patch level 26). to implement this note i have to create a Function Module with export parameter of TYPE SEPA_STR_DATA_MANDATE_DATA. the problem here is the structure SEPA_STR_DATA_MANDATE_DATA not available in my system and no instructions are given in the note to create this structure. i have also implemented the prerequisite notes 1305012, 1360908.
your Quick response will be highly appreciated.

Reason and Prerequisites
As a prerequisite, you require Noter 1090321 for SEPA Direct Debit and the two SEPA credit transfer Notes 1305012 and 1360908. Check whether these notes have already been implemented (search in the ABAP Dictionary (transaction SE11) for the structures FPAYHX_MDT and FPM_SEPA and check in transaction SE37 whether the function DMEE_EXIT_SEPA_21 already exists) and implement them if necessary.
To be able to use the B2B (Business to Business) function, you also require enhancements in the SEPA third-party management (SAP Basis) that are delivered in a separate note.
Check this prerequisite notes 1090321, 1305012 and 1360908 and its corrections present in your system

How to know side effects of implementing an SAP Note

Hi All,
Im new in implementing SAP Note.
Kindly suggest how to analyize whether implementing an SAP Note will cause some side effect.
How to do that ,I think just by looking at code can we assure that there will be no side effects.

hello,
the easiest way is to implement note and check the functionality manually for example execute transaction and post document or you could open the correction object (ABAP code) and analyse the correction which ll be imported and how those changes will effect your systems work. if you implemented the note and you noticed that corrections destroyed your previous functionality then you could rollback the note in your development system.

REACh Implementation using SAP Best Practices for Chemicals

Hello,
We are working on implementation of SAP REACh Compliance in to Best Practices for Chemicals. Currently we are extending the Best Practices scenario for "SVT" to cover REACh Compliance.
Do we have a preconfigured scenario available with list of building blocks to be activated for REACh Compliance to work? Are there any plans to release the same in future?

Chemicals best Practice support on REACH is currently limited to SVT scenario you mentioned in your question. Having Best practice support for SAP REACH Compliance is a good idea of course but BP community needs to decide to do so and needs to take action. This has not be done so far and would currently be difficult to realize since there is simply no REACH best practice yet... All companies are more or less still in learning mode about how to find the best way to implement REACH legislation best not to forget the that REACH as such (its guidance documents) are still changing too.

You first need to understand the requirement of the business first because if there are 600 reports in legacy system you no need to presume that you need to develop 600 coz of the multidimensional report of BI you can club so many requirements in to one report. And you have to decide, up to what extent the Business content reports would be helpful. If the BC report meets the requirement it is as simple as that to activate and use it. But if the BC report wont meet the business requirement then you need to estimate the efforts to develop. Here you need to keep in mind that the standard extractors would be fine or need to enhance or need to go for Generic extraction. And also the HCM reports are big tricky and lot of data issues would rise. By considering all this you need to plan the days of work to complete all the reports.

Hi,
this SAP note is a very old SAP modification note.
I think, you have to do all work manually.
But have a look at the note: You have to install some other SAP notes before that!

Without Payroll What all module I can implement in SAP HR?
Asfar as my knowledge is concerned We can Time Management. Training and Event Management, Performanace Management, Recruitment & E Recruitment.
I guess For Travel Management too Payroll is required?
My Question Can I implement Personal Cost Planning without Payroll? Is it required that i needto configure Basic Wagetype that is 0008 Is that is required to configure Basic Wagetype for Personal Cost Planning?

According to SAP help you need to implement Organizational management at least in order to be using Personnel Cost Planning.
However, depending on the functions you require you need to implement other HR submodules and integrate with Personnel Cost Planning component. For this integration considerations please check below:

We are currently using the RF transaction through character based hand held devices through SAP Console , Now we would like to use the GUI Touch Screen based devices .

Budget function is supported in following sub modules of SAP and you can it based on your application.
Finance:
Fund Management
Controlling
Internal order(Overhead/Investment order)
COPA(Profitability analysis)
Project systems:
Project
WBS element
In addition to this,you can do planning which is similar to budgetting only without any controls.Planning is available at cost center,internal order,profit centers,PA.
You complete nessesary config. before using these functions of SAP.

I want to implement the SSO from SAP EP to java application i.e. on oracle 10g application server. For this i have downloaded ssoexample with relevant libraries and jsp aswell as java file. But where i need these files to be placed in java application and what all things i have to do on portal as well.

i don't know, but what i see is, the calling application shd try to do the following... this is the sample code from the blog which i posted earlier. This application shd have reference for your .so files. Now you will get the user details to authenticate. You can use your API in .so files with these details.

Valuation at retail in SAP Retail corresponds to all aspects of the retail inventory method as used in the trade. Valuation at Retail is transparent and easy to follow. When you use this method, inventory is updated in the article master at retail and at the same time in the Retail Information System (RIS), allowing you to carry out a number of powerful analyses.
Stock margins and inventory valuation in Financial Accounting are always up to date. And thanks to the integration of valuation at retail with Inventory Management and the integration of Inventory Management with Financial Accounting, Controlling and Profitability Analysis, the valuation data is consistent in all areas.
Valuation at retail can be used for both quantity and value-based Inventory Management and Inventory Management on a value-only basis. The following explains how you can best use valuation at retail for your requirements:
In SAP Retail, the valuation area must always correspond to a site.
In retailing it is common practice to record the retail price of inventory (retail method). Since it is extremely time-consuming to determine all the costs associated with the procurement of an article without the use of modern IT systems, it is all the more difficult to determine the delivered cost of merchandise. In view of this, the delivered cost of an article is usually taken as an average price calculated on the basis of the retail value.
(a) Valuating inventory at delivered prices (cost inventory method)
You can only apply this method if you can ensure that all changes involving an article can be accurately recorded. What is known in the trade as the u201Ccost inventory methodu201D or the u201Ccost methodu201D involves valuating stocks at delivered prices and assigning costs to individual articles.
(b) Valuating inventory at retail (retail inventory method)
What is known in the trade as the u201Cretail inventory methodu201D or the u201Cretail methodu201D involves valuating stocks at retail, often aggregated at merchandise category or departmental level. Stock is updated at retail for every merchandise category and department. For balance sheet valuation purposes on the balance sheet key date, the delivered cost of the stock is worked out based on a gross margin between cost and retail.
Both the cost method and the retail method can be used in SAP Retail.
