Trex problem

Hi experts,
I try to create an index but when I save I get an error that the index already exist.
Index could not be created; creating index failed: An index already exists with the same name (errorcode 2003).
In the index administration screen, the index is not available. On the Trex server (7.10.55)  the index is deleted and also not available anymore.
When I go to 'Display Index Details' in the Trex monitor I can see the index, but I cannor delete it there.
The portal (version 7.30.5) is restarted and still the same error.
How to delete this entry? Or how can I create the index (again)?
Thanks in advance,
Vo.

Hello Vo,
Is this for any index you try to create? I'm assuming you want to use a specific name but if you select a different name it works, correct?
One possibility here is that the crawler scheduler task for the old index is still assigned to an old or invalid CM system which is preventing it from being deleted. You could try the following:
Navigate to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge
Management -> Content Management -> Global Services -> Show Advanced
options
Select 'Scheduler Sequences' from the 'Related Areas' list
Select 'Sequence' (It should say 'No Sequence available yet in the
configuration')
Select 'New'
In the selection box on the right hand side of the screen you should see the
Crawler tasks in question if they exist, you may have to go to the subsequent pages to see the full list(eg. 31201417-72f5-2b10-2688-95740a8b324d)
Click on the crawler task
Select 'Edit', and then assign it to the correct CM system Node ID or alternatively delete it
Repeat this for any additional crawler tasks as required
Hopefully you will be able to create the new index after correcting any invalid config here.
Kind regards,
Lorcan.

  • TREX problem: Rapid Installer 2.0

First I try to install EP 6.0 SR1 with Rapid Installer 2.0, I got an trex error in the installation. In this forum (read by Nicky Gromeleit) I got the information that installing TREX in rapid installation is not possible so I try again the following steps:
    1) Install only EP platform succesfully
    2) Install TREX manually succesfully
    3) I have configured IIS 6.0 for TREX
    4) After entering the name server adress in the SAP J2EE Engine Adminisatrator Tool I got only com.sapportals.wdf.WdfErrors in the TREX monitor, although the adress and port is correct. I use the url which you can see in "settings/ Landscape Overview" after starting trexgui.exe.
Did I forget something or must I change something else?
    Regards,
    Frank

    Hi Frank,
I had the same problem in the rapidinstallation, but the installation of Trex manualy works fine. I used the port, witch you can find opening 'Drive:\usr\sap\TREX_<Instance>\sapprofile.ini' at line 'TREX/NameServer/Port'
In the Visual Administrator "-> Server 0 -> Services -> TREX Service" I changed the
Parameter 'nameserver.address' in my case to 'tcpip://localhost:port'
Nothing else is to do. So I did nearly the same as you, but maybe the port differs.

  • ICSS - TREX problem

    Hi Experts,
I am working on ICSS (B2B/B2C) scenario. When i replicate product catalog through initial replication, it gets replicated successfully (as given in log). But when i check it in webUI for activation, it gives me status as "replication not possible". As per help.sap.com, it refers to "master server available, slave servers not available". We are using TREX with single host system hence slave servers will be not available.
Moreover when i activate it & check on B2B/B2C channel, it shows "error in product catalog".
Can somebody throw some light on how to resolve this issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Varun

    Pavan,
    Please check the below settings.
In order to create a new B2C Customer, you need a reference user with the authorization roles SAP_ISA_B2C_RFC and SAP_ISA_B2C_FULL.
    Procedure
    1.     Access the activity using one of the following navigation options:
    Transaction code     SU01
SAP menu     Tools  Administration  User Maintenance  Users
    2.     In the User field, enter B2CREFUSER.
    3.     Choose Create (F8).
    4.     Enter the following data:
    Address tab
    Last Name     B2C Reference User
    Logon data tab
    User type     Service
Password     Initial (at the first logon, change password to welcome)
    Roles tab
    Role     SAP_ISA_B2C_RFC
    Role     SAP_ISA_B2C_FULL
    5.     Choose Save
    Hope this will help you.

I did check sap notes, sdn forums etc. and played around with classpath and path variable, changed the iis settings (we're on w2k3s, iis6 and mssql 2000).
another issue - maybe it is related to the nullexception - is, that in the w2k3s event log the sql server brings up an error:

    solved the issue:
updated jmon lib to newest patchlevel (actual 16).
    now it's working
    cheers

    Hello Roland
Thanx for your answer. Yes I had a look on those notes.
The TREX Problem itself has been solved by upgrading the jmon lib to pl 16. I don't have any error msg with the trex monitor.
Actually, I'm upgrading now the portal to SP2 Patch 3 and 4, since I still have some nullpointer exceptions in the portal.
    Will post the results here.

  • TREX status " to be synchronized"

    Hello All,
We are on NW04s SR2 (Win 2003 and Oracle 10G). Our TREX is also installed on the same host as the NW04s SR2.  After the TREX installation and few post installation steps of configuring the application pool and creating website, I did the configuration steps starting with creating index and assigned a datasource as the external File system repository. Now after all this, when I am looking at the status of the index and its queue, the status is at "to be synchronized" and has been in that status for a very long time. I also changed the schedule time to All-0:01 and the transmit bulk size to the number of documents in my file system repository. Still I see that all the documents that passed the Transitting stage are in "To be synchronized" state and no change in that status at all....
How can this be corrected? Could anyone help me with the status of the TREX Queue server?
I also tried flushing out that queue and I still see all the documents in the "To be synchronized" state only...
Any help with this will greatly be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sunitha

    Hello All,
I deleted the old index and recreated the index and this solved the TREX problem.
    Thanks,

  • Problem indexing with TREX

    Hi guys,
We have some problems with our TREX system. This´s our environment:
      - SAP Netweaver 7 - SP17 (SUN Solaris)
      - SAP TREX 7 (Windows 2003 server)
      - IIS 6 with SSO to File Server (SSO22Kerbmap configured)
The problem is that When indexing process is started, we detected that a lot of documents had preprocessing errors. We have in TREX log the following info for each file error:

Can somebody help us to solve this problem?
    Best regards.

    Hi Julio,
did you check the following SAP Note ?
    SAP Note 735639 - SSO22KerbMap: Known issues
Did you also create an Active Directory User for the user index_service ?
This is described on page 7 in my white paper "[Integration of Windows File Servers into the SAP KM platform using SSO and the WebDAV repository manager|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e1f93f5c-0301-0010-5c83-9681791f78ec]".

    Hi,
do you configured TREX server in EP ?
You must configure the TREX name server in Visual Admin, to point to TREX.
Your error message say "Server: <host-ip>:30205", what is  <host-ip>? I think that is the problem, it must be your server name.

  • SAP ISA R/3 Edition problem with TREX

    Hi!
We are migration our Internet Sales (R/3 Edition) 4.0 with SAP J2EE Engine 6.20 to SAP J2EE Engine 6.40.
We’ve already migrate your Java Basket data. And we’ve installed TREX 6.1
for catalogue replication and we’ve created a WEB SITE in IIS.
    We’ve created a B2B scenario and we’ve configured xcm for: b2b, Shopadmin
    and trexr3.
Apparently TREX is working fine... I can create and replicate catalogs, view the catalogs within TREX, etc. But I'm getting the following error when I try to see the content of catalog within http://10.125.25.57:50100/trexr3/b2x/admin/catalog.do.
Exception from the PCAT API: Index has not been assigned to this
IndexServer;location=sapisaqld01:30203,index=index_id1204052895687pindex(Errorcode 2004) Retrieval of trex index failed!
I've just updated TREX 6.1 to SP33 and the problem persists.
We can find the following messages within TREXindexserverAlert.trc:
    [01176] 2008-02-29 11:55:46.812 e indexserver TREXIndexServer.cpp(00632)
: ERROR: not assigned to index: 'index_id1204053610211pindex', function:'showIndex'
and when we try to see the catalog information within
    http://10.125.25.57:50100/trexr3/b2x/admin/init.do
    we get the message:
Exception from the PCAT API: Index has not been assigned to this
    IndexServer;location=sapisaqld01:30203,index=index_id1204052895687pindex(Errorcode
2004) Retrieval of trex index failed!
    Any hints?
    Cheers,

    Hi Dick,
Guess how I solve this problem?
Well.... I've reinstalled SAP TREX 6.1 SP33 and started from scratch.
    Thanks

  • Recruiting problem with the candidate search by trex with questionnaires

    Hi Gurus,
I am trying to search candidates using trex in recruiting by candidate_questionnaires but the trex does not show any result. How can I solve it?
When candidates register theirselves on internet, they complete questionnaires that I have added in the apllication wizard.
But the problem starts when I want to search candidates by the answers that they have complete in this questionnaire. So I select the criteria search candidate questionnaire, then I select the questionnaire and then the answer and I run the searh. I know that the results shown are always about others requisitions and not the one that I am doing the search. But in my case candidates are assigned in other requisition with the same process template so I do not know where is the problem, because other sort of search works fine. This is the only one that it does not work.
In addition, I have run the report RCF_CHECK_SEARCH_SETTINGS but the result is that all the parameters are fine except that I have not implement the badi HRAHAP00_FOLLOW_UP_SES. May I have to implement?
Moreover I have seen that when I select the answer to search, any operator (element of selection mask) is assigned but I have read that it is correct because I am using the search profile "int_cand" with the category "candidate_document" that it use in the mask search candidate_questionnaire.
In conclusion, I don't know how I can solve this problem with trex? Any idea?
    Thanks in advance,
    Juanjo Garcin.

    I've already done it.
Do you think this will help?
I doubt that Apple will listen to us. Users with a problem that occurs quite a lot.

  • TREX Nameserver Problems!

    Hi All
I am having a problem with my TREX Namserver on one of my portals.
In the TREX Monitor - Service Status i have a message:  <b>The name server is not running or no name server is configured in TREX Service Properties. Start J2EE Admin to change the properties.</b>
When I try and start the TREX Administrator i get this message: <b>No connection to NameServer <PORTALTST:30201></b>
I have set the Nameserver in the J2EE (go.bat)
Can anyone help! (BTW it is a new installation EP6 SP15)
    Thanks in Advance!!

    hi,
    The problem may be because
    1. You might have wrongly specified the name server address or the system name of the trex server itself in the trex services. also check if you have saved it and stop and start the trex service in the visual admin.
    2. Your trex instance might be stopped. Go to services in control panel and try starting it.
    Hope it helps...

  • TREX: indexing problem

    Hi,
I'm trying to configure TREX in our portal. I've created an index (search index) and I've assigned data to index (html files and pdf files).
When I test the indexing process in the TREX Monitor, I always see that some pdf files aren't indexed. I assign them to index again and again, but they aren't indexed. I get "Preparation Failed" for these documents and the indexing process doesn't continue (it seems that it stops).
What can it be the cause?
    Thanks in advance,
    Samantha.

    Hi,
There is no need to create new repository. You can add that folder as "Data Source" to Index. Then all files and folders under that folder will automatically indexed.
    Please follow the below steps.
    1. Create a new Index.
    2. Add folder (Whatever you created) as "Data Source" to index.
    3. Save data source.
Now you can get all your documents indexed.
Here note one points. You will not get all the documents indexed immidiately. This will depend on your TREX load.
Other wise if you want it immediately flush the particular index.
    1. Logon to portal as Administrator
    2. Navigate to 'System Administrator' -> Monitoring -> Knowledge Management -> Cache Monitor
    3. Note the System ID of you local system from combo box under System ID
    4. Navigate to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> Global Service -> System Landscape Definations -> Systems -> Content Management System
    5. Check that the same System ID Should be there. If not there please add it by clicking on button 'New'
    6. Navigate to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Knowledge Management -> Content Management -> Global Service ->Scheduler Tasks -> Index Management Task Queue Reader
    7. Open "IndexServiceTaskQueueReader" for editing
    8. Add the same system ID under "System ID"
I think this will solve your problem

  • Portal & TREX Performance problems!

    Hi All
I am having an issue with a portal we have just implemented, in terms of performance and TREX processes.
It appears TREXIndexServer.exe consumes a large amount of processor resource and causes the portal to stop working. When the process is killed off everything goes back to normal!
Can anyone help me fix this?
    Thanks
    Phil

We currently only have 7 indexes running on the portal and they run twice a day once at 8.00am and 12:30pm indexing and classifying a total of around 300 documents. These are all stored in the database!
The Server its self is quite high spec and should not have a problem.
It seems that the TREX engine !
    Hope this helps!
    Phil
