Trial sites rant

As I am continuing to explore the possibilities of Business Catalyst, I bought a recent template deal from Tribevita. I downloaded their templates, which in turn zapped the amount of trial sites (100 max) available to create new Muse site tests or any trial sites I might want to create from BC.
I am a free partner ... how are we supposed to test the BC environment out with the 100 limit?
So I have been told I must DELETE the templates i downloaded to free up trial site space, which is ABSURD. In the meantime, I am paying for a Creative Cloud subscription, where I use Muse for mocking up designs, but I can't trial site anything anymore because the templates I downloaded have used all that spots up.
What am I missing here, BC? Are we really expected to pay $995 to upgrade to a partnership so I can use Muse (which mind you I am paying $50/mo that i now can't use).
Has anyone else come across issues like this? An d warning: if you do purchase templates, in the hopes of using them in the future, they all count against the trial max.

Just seems like there should be a difference between templates and trial sites.
A Drupal or WP user can collect hundreds of templates for future use, and then load it in for a live dev site when they choose. In BC, if I understand it, it's not like I can load up a .zip file into the BC environment and then activate it as trial site then. It's instantly counting against the trial max and that's a limitation for it being a SAAS vs. something you can load locally in MAMP.
If BC templates were at least treated as not live, just something that could be activated to a trial site when needed, that would be useful. I think BC has a lot of potential, I like it a lot (coming from a Drupal 6 user) ...
By way of Muse, yes, it is a different thing all together .. i am now looking at a different hosting solution for those sites and trials .. and use the free BC partner account to host the templates.

Upgrade trial site from webBasics+ to webMarketing

I setup a webBasics+ trial site for a client. Now he wants more features, but they are only available if I upgrade to the webMarketing plan. Can I upgrade a trial site or do I have to delete and start over? I can’t seem to find any info on this subject.

Yes, that's my understanding too.
I haven't tried this before, but could you use the Create Site option in the Partner Portal which sets up a webCommerce 5 site; and choose the option to replicate from the existing trial site?
When you're ready to put the site live, you can opt to down-grade it to a webMarketing.
Only danger would be that you'd need to ensure you don't adopt any webCommerce elements (e.g. Web Apps, eCommerce) during the development.

Publishing pages and modules without the extra stuff in trial site

There are so many pre-populated modules and layouts in the trial site. Before I publish the actual pages I want, do I deleted the extra stuff? Or, do I just publish the ones I want and the other stuff will remain hidden unless I publish them? I don't want the extra stuff that I don't need to show up on the website I created. In other words, will the site publish everything on the layout of the trail site and I need to delete those I don't need? Or, do I just publish the ones I need and don't touch the rest. If so, I would have to remember which one I need and which ones I don't.

Clear things up Kim, important to ensure there are are no things generating urls you do not want to be indexed or modules rendering on templates you do not need to speed up your site etc.
This will be something you will get if you use a template from a trial site etc. You can of course start a clean blank trial site as well and work from scratch if you want to.

Responsive eCommerce templates for trial site

Hi,
Are there any responsive eCommerce templates to choose from for the BC trial sites?
The eCommerce template I chosse for my trial site is not Responsive, the other template I choose from the BC templates is responsive out of the box.

To do "direct" processing of credit card transactions you need a secure site for the shopping cart (monthly fee) and a site that processes the credit card (monthly and/or transaction fee) while with PayPal they take care of all that and all you pay is a transaction fee (I think 3% of each charge, but not 100% sure of that)

Upgrading your trial site

Hi I have built my website on business catalyst. I have transferred the domain from Go Daddy and now gone into the site domains and all i can see is two trial versions - do i have to wait for it to be moved from Go Daddy or click launch site. Tried to click on your link for upgrading the trial site but its not there. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

You can create a trial site and then upgrade the site plan to web marketing so that you can use Blogs. The site will still be in trial.
This will not require any fee.
Please get in touch with support to get your trial site upgrade to web marketing.

I Built Clients Account Under My Paid Sites Instead of Trial Sites. From what I am understanding, the client can not be billed from BC unless the site is launched under Trial Sites. I spent time building this 120 page site and client loves it! He wants me to start billing him for hosting and I have now way to do it because the site is created in the wrong area. I got on Adobe chat and they tell me to do a FTP, then I get on the forums and they tell me to save site as a template, someone else said to rebuild from scratch. But Muse automatically publishes the sites under your personal paid sites correct? I am so lost and client is getting frustrated. Also I can not set up there emails because I transfered their domain name to the site as well. What is the best approach to getting this situated???

Trial Site URL change?

So when we are doing new sites for clients, we like to let them see the progress a week or two before launch, so they can give us any input they like on the finishing touches. As it is now though, on a trial site, they would see xxxxx.businesscatalyst.com. Is there a way that we can change that so the client can see their site without seeing we are using business catalyst? It kind of ruins the whole white label functionality if we cannot do this. Thanks in advance.

Max size for trial site on business catalyst?

Not sure if this belongs on Business Catalyst forum, but is there a maximum trial site size? I see that the standard webBasics (which comes with Muse) has 100MB of space, can we go over that in the trial site and buy the extra space later?

There is no maximum trial size, you can build your site and then once you upgrade to a paid plan you'll be able to buy more overages.

Publish old trial site?

So I have my own site with BC and I am working with a very slooooow client that has finally decided to go live with their site. I created the entire site as a trial version and went to upgrade it today and I can't figure out how to get it work now. I orginally created a seperate ID for my client so I either need to merge my old ID (for a client) with my new partner ID (rachaelshannonart.com) or I need to be able to just upgrade my clients ID. When I try to just upgrade it I keep getting an error message that the ID is unrecognizable. Hopefully someone out there can help, would be much appreciated!

Please add that ID as an admin on that site first and then try to add it as a partner. Let know how that goes.
If that does not work, please provide the web site and email you are having the issue with.

Device Channels NOT working on SharePoint Online Trial Site

Can anyone please let me know Device Channels work on a SharePoint Online 30 Days Trial Account Site ?
Because
1. when I create Device Channels on a On premise machine with SharePoint Enterprise Edition , it works fine.
2. When I create Device Channels on my company's accounts : SharePoint Online site (Office 365) , it works fine.
But
3. When I created 30 Day Trial Account and create device channel , it is not giving any error but it simple doesn't work.
so can anyone please confirm.

i think if you go to compare the plan and from that page you can select which plan trial you want to start.

Adobe Muse - Publish a trial site

Hi!
I have been trying to publish my new site in Adobe Catalyst ( Free 30 days trial), but the only thing that shows up is a "Coming Soon" page?
Any suggestions for what I've might have done wrong, would be appreciated

Try logging to the site admin console and under Site Manager -> Pages , you may find 2 index pages, open each of them and set the required one as a start page under Actions -> Set as a Start page.

Help with code for inserting horizontal scroll bar in photo gallery in Business Catalyst site?

I am using Business Catalyst and Dreamweaver to create a trial site.
I am not sure if this is the correct forum to post this request but anyway I have inserted a photo gallery module at the bottom of the sidebar in the homepage of my test site.
Can anyone advise on whether jquery or any other code can be inserted into the page or module code that will replace the "next" hyperlink below the first 4 photos with a horizontal scroll bar at bottom of the gallery so users can just scroll through all 12 images ?

Have you tried putting this rule back as it was originally:
