Trouble Building New Workspace For Day 1 Projects

I am viewing the first day's lesson and am finding this course to be remarkably good for something that's free. I really like it! Thanks for providing it.
One confusing thing I encountered> Being an overachiever, I tried to follow along with the instructor when she created a new workspace and unzipped Day 1's files with all of Day 1's projects in it. In the version she is using in the video, there is no Day1.zip file, and so trying to follow her, I thought I was making some mistake and not building my workspace correctly or not unzipping my file correctly.
I finally figured out that it was different than what she was using and found instructions in the readme file that helped me set it up. Later, I found that the actual exercize at the end of the lesson was using the correct version of the zip file.
I'm not really sure what you could do, but possibly some sort of pop message on the video warning people not to try this yet might prevent others from trying to do it while watching the video and getting frustrated.
Again, GREAT COURSE! Thanks, mucho.

  • New Discussions: for day time use only? (-: A darker blue, please!

Thanks a lot Mods for your efforts.
I spend some time on these boards every day, so I can see things are going better and better.
I like the new Discussions better than the previous, especially everything that comes with this new ability to put much more on one page (like being able to see A LOT (not only five) of "Recent topics in this category", or that the topic's titles can be longuer than before, or being able to read the whole thread without jumping to "the next 15 posts" like before. I set "My Posts" to "50", this too was not possible before. Etc.)
    Now my request:
At first I thought, like many others, that the "blue dot" and the "blue half-dot" were too small, and that we couldn't see the small grey "New!" because it was not red.
Now after all this time since Nov14, I finally understood what was wrong, because
    (1) the new kind of eye fatigue I didn't experienced before, and
    (2) a change in my computer's room lighting configuration.
The real problem is not the blue dot size (altough I'm sure if it was a square it would work better), it is its environment.
We have a white line after a light blue line, and this is a great feature to differenciate between topics. Works great within a thread too, to differenciate posts.
But one side effect of this is that the whole page "feels" slightly blue.
I'm not sure, but a human eye physicist could perhaps explain another kind of (more insidious?) side effect caused by the alternance of lines. Perhaps depending on which color are chosen for them?
Anyway, there is no problem with a page that "feels" blue, when the text is black.
The problem starts when the text ALSO is blue. Especially light blue...
I find the text blue color too light. Even the "visited link" purple is too light.
Given that the background is blueish, I mean. Otherwise it'd be fine.
This was not easy to understand, because the [defect/effect] is not obvious: the overall picture is nice.
But it became obvious to me when I saw that I have no problem IF I set my screen's brightess to "very bright".
New Discussions: for day time use only?
==> Please, would it be a problem (or too difficult to set perhaps?), to try a darker blue text for two or three weeks, see if we like it better? (along with a slightly darker purple for the visited links).
Thanks again for all the great work!
    Axl

  • Trouble building kernel module for sensor support

Hi, I'm new here but have been using Arch for a while.  Recently, I decided to install Arch on an old laptop (Toshiba A70) and have managed to work out most of the kinks to where it runs nicely.  Unfortunately, ACPI support is spotty and the /sys/class/thermal directory gives me only cooling_device0.  I installed the lm-sensors package and ran sensors-detect, which yielded no results.  Although the laptop runs smoothly otherwise, I would like to know the CPU's temp so that I would be able to set up a fan control scheme and CPU scaling (so far it's stuck at the lowest frequency, and that's kind of a big deal for me since the laptop runs on an archaic mobile P4 chip).
Sorry for the story but I felt some context was necessary.  I did manage to find a kernel module that would connect those sensors to ACPI for me (http://sourceforge.net/projects/omnibook/), however I'm having trouble building it on the latest kernel.  Here is the output from running make:

  • Need some help building a game for a school project

I have to build a game called quads.
My java knowledge is not the best there is, so i'm looking for some existing code i could use for my game.
    Here are some game details.
    - The game is played by 2 players (on the same computer).
    - both players have 18 square stones.
    - the stones are divided in 4 sides,
    - each side can be shaped, with horizontal- or vertical lines, gray, or black
    - http://213.73.158.54/plaatjes/stones.htm for some preview images
    - player1 has only gray stones, player2 only black.
    - both players have 1 white stone, wich they have to use first.
    - the game is over when one of the players can no longer place one of his stones on the board.
    What i'm looking for,
I'm looking for a source of a similar game, with:
    - a mouse listener, with te option te rotate the selected stone (0, 90, 180, 270), and to move the selected stone.
    - enable/disable stone collections. (take turns)
PS. if you don't know where i can find a source similar to this game, sites with game souces are also welcome.
    Thanks alot :D

    My problems right now are,
    - i can't select more than 1 stone
    - i can't rotate 1 stone (i did rotate them all, but that's a bit useless)
    - i can't make players to take turns.
    - i can't move stones, i can only copy them...
So if i can't use source codes, does anyone know a tutorial for all this?
PS. sorry about the dutch code.

Has anybody used Oracle BPM for network management projects with millions of events?
    Can Oracle BPM handle it?

Please follow this step may this solve your problem.
please modify any thing in process "ExpenseReporting" for example any transition or any activity to place some where else or any other modification and then save that process. Then clean the project and build and deploy it.
if this also not solve the problem then export that project to and import it again in your workspace (Create new workspace or change the project name in same workspace ) and then again clean, build and deploy the application then test in work space.

  • New Workspace

    Hi All,
I created the workspace with this "c:\..\SAPIdE.exe"-data"newworkspacedir"  format only. When i create the new workspace and import the alredy working project in the new workspace, all the old projects are sharing the old workspace not the new one.
I want to know the reason for this and also the way i created the workspace is correct or not. If any one of you know let me know please.
           Thanks in advance

    krishnaveni,
I guess you are not talking about the location of the newly created projects. Importing the already existing projects into a new workspace does NOT copy the project to the new workspace. It just creates a new project from an eclipse project in the file system.
If you are interested in having the location of the projects (newly imported) changed, then simply copy your projects from the old workspace directory and paste it to the new one.

  • E17 SVN Builder, a new script for pacman to keep your E17 up to date!

I created a script called E17 SVN Builder because of what it does: create packages of E17 direct from SVN using the same PKGBUILDs as the Arch snapshots do. It came around because I was bitten by the Settings panel bug, which was fixed in upstream a few days after the SVN snapshot was taken. I wanted an up to date E17 install, so I created this script. Do NOT use it if you want your E17 install to be stable(r?)!
I just thought I would share this script since it works for me. Perhaps people could help me improve it?
Anyway, the dependancies right now are:
yaourt-git (I need it to fetch the PKGBUILDs for the images from CVS)
svn (to fetch the E17 code)
    TODO:
    - I need to get rid of the dependancy on yaourt-git by extracting the code for fetching the PKGBUILDs with it.
    - I want to be able to use flags with this.

UPDATE! This package has had a couple changes:
    - Repetitive stuff was condensed into one piece of code. Now, its much easier to read.
    - I implemented extra differently. Instead of using a flag (which for some reason always sent me into a loop, I need more practice with scripting ), I just ask the person running the script whether they want to build extra as well as the core e17-svn stuff. Now it doesn't build them all automatically.

  • LLDB: A new debugger for developers ... part of the LLVM project

I recently submitted https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/lldb-svn/ to the AUR.
The main website for the LLDB project is here: http://lldb.llvm.org/.
LLDB aims to be modular and easy to use and maintains much of the familiarity of GDB. This allows GDB users to quickly ramp up to start using LLDB.
LLDB is also able to disassemble machine code using LLVM libraries so as soon as new instructions are added to LLVM, they are automatically available in LLDB.
LLDB also has a large and active developer base and a larger customer base will get more bugs filed and hence better support for non-traditional distros like Archlinux. I myself am a long-term Arch user and even mentioning it at my workplace sparked quite some interest in the distribution.
The main motivation to submit this package was to get a larger customer base for the LLDB project that one of the teams were developing during my Winter internship at Intel Corporation, one of the main contributors to the LLVM project.
It does however take some time to build as it needs to build the LLVM libraries, the Clang libraries and then LLDB libraries/executables. If someone is interested enough to give it a try, please do and upvote the AUR submission and/or report any build/install problems and I will try to fix them.
Also, AFAIK, LLDB does not support multi-threaded executables yet. I am not sure since my internship ended a while ago.
    Thanks!

    B. I have only been given a QT file of the pilot, as to cut a rough idea of the trailer, which I will then have to redo with the original HD files, when I return to them tomorrow.
Well, this will make cutting more difficult. Because a low res version of the trailer will not have any timecode...nothing that references the main movie. So you will do the cut with the QT movie and then have to go back and eyematch-cut the trailer with the high res footage. Not fun and very time consuming. Not to mention that you will be cutting with the mixed audio of the trailer, including music and that will not sound right when you cut the trailer with the new music.
You need a QT version of the movie that contains the timecode of the original master (using media Manager to recompress to DV or other offline codec will do this), and you REALLY need to get split track audio. If they are record producers, they'll know what that is.
