Hello Experts,
I am trying to install sap netweaver trial 7.01. There are several problems and as a Consultant I am not expert in Basis experiences and ABAP. But I just want to learn about. So I hope you can help me in the following item. What I must write by the following question: DNS Domain name for SAP System. I hope for several hints and tried to explain it in easy words because I am not an Expert.

Are you trying to install on you home computer? What is your Operating system? Answer to you question is that in case your computer is in domain, you have to specify your domain name there.

In this Forum it appears that Windows 2000 with SP4 will work as well (haven't tried it).
If you've got VISTA you could consider running the trial on a Virtual Machine. Parallels, and vmware offer commercial vm products for generating Virtual machines whilst Microsoft (Virtual Pc2007) and VBOX offer Free virtualisation products. Vmware also provides a FREE vmware server virtualisation product --this works fine as well although no multi-media support. However if you only need the Virtual Machine to run the Netweaver trial then that's no big deal.
As I've posted elsewhere a Win XP pro Virtual Machine using only 512MB of RAM will give quite adequate performance of the ABAP trial. Don't even THINK of the Java edition unless you've got at LEAST 2GB - even on a Virtual Machine.

Hello Sharon,
I don't know this book you've mentioned, but perhaps it's the same trail version as you can download from SAP.
To uninstall it please go through the steps provided in the first part of the following site --> link
Then try to delete the D:SAPNSP-folder again.
Also please check your services-file under C:WINDOWSsystem32driversetc that there aren't any entries like NSP left.

Problems when installing the SAP Netweaver 2004s Trial version on Fedora 9

Dear all,
I have been trying to install the SAP Netweaver 2004s Trial version on Fedora 9, 64 bit, x86_64, but have not been able to accomplish this correctly.
New to the Linux environment as well, and hence not completely sure about the issues here. According to the steps outlined for the installation, i downloaded and installed the IBM Java SDK and then executed the install.sh script file from the download.
The installation went well, but when i try to start the sap system using the command startsap, i get the error message command not found.
Could anyone please guide.

Error Install SAP Netweaver ABAP Trial Version 7.01

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to install SAP Netweaver ABAP Trial Version 7.01.
My operating system is Windows XP Professional.
I have 3 GB of RAM and 80 GB of free space.
   Unfortunately, the installation process is stuck in:
   Phase 18 of 27
   Import Monitor jobs: running 3, waiting 20, completed 5, failed 0, total 28.
   In log files there is no error.
   However, after 3 hours the installation stops.
   Can anyone help please?

I am installing "SAP Netweaver 2004s SR2 Developer Workplace". Got the below error :

Yes you can install java engine.Run sapinst from installation master cd and select only java engine installation.There will be check boxes abd you have to choose java engine.Also check the nwo4s installation guide.It will guide you throughly.Keep in mind to use correct jdk required for your kind of installatiom.

Currently there's no limit and no fee for license renewals. In the past, license renewal had been stopped for some time though, which made a lot of people in this board very unhappy, but hopefully this won't happen again...

Installing SAP Netweaver 2004s On CentOS 5

I am planning to install SAP Netweaver 2004s on CentOS 5 on a 64bit multiprocessor Dell Server. Is it possible to install on as its a upstream vendor OS clone RHEL5. Are there any detailed HowTo(s) Guides to install.

When you say its for training, will SAP provide any support on the application server or database side?
No - as said - it´s not officially supported.
I am also planning to use CentOS for training purpose.... but wondering if SAP will help if we have any issues later.
If the problems are OS related they won´t help (and they can´t).
Also, can you provide me with the install steps for Centos?
I would try with the normal installation guides for Linux - if you face any issues let us know.
