Trouble installing Design Premium CS4 on 10.8.5 (Mountain Lion)

I downloaded Design Premium CS4 from licensing.adobe.com site. Opened it up and tried installing it on a MAC running 10.8.5. Got the error "setup has encountered and cannot continue. I get this error as Adobe was trying to do a system profiler check. I would appreciate your help getting this issue resolved!

Did you have any previous copies of Creative Suite applications which are or were installed on that computer? You might have to use the Adobe Cleaner Tool first to erase old files which might conflict.

Trouble installing Design Premium cs5.5

I bought Design Premium cs5.5 on disk. I have a Macbook Pro, OS 10.5.8. I was able to install some programs, but not others, the installation logs did not help. Tried everything suggested in the help section. Called Adobe, when I couldn't copy the files to my desktop, they sent me a new disk. It seemed to work. Some time later, I go to open Illustrator and it tells me I have to reinstall. It wouldn't install, so I tried to uninstall and reinstall. Ened up having the same problems I had to begin with, with both disks. I thought maybe it was my optical drive, and got a new one. Same problems. Everything installed but Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Flash. Checked disk permissions, set up another user, etc. If I try to copy the files to my desktop, I get an error. Any ideas?

You have tried the two different discs and different drives and still you were not able to copy the content to the desktop.
I would suggest to check the discs on the different computer , just to make sure the disc are correct. if they are contact Mac to get this think sort out.
and you can download the design premium cs5.5 from adobe.com website as the trial and while installing you can use your serial number.
, you can write the DVD with the setup downloaded from internet for the future use.

Design Premium CS4 Dreamweaver fails to install

Purchased and downloaded installer for Design Premium CS4 upgrade. All programs installed except Dreamweaver. Launched the installer again and Dreamweaver is listed under "Additional Products" and I am unable to click check box next to this for installation. Since all other programs installed (Flash, Fireworks, Illus, InDesign, Photoshop) I feel this must be the right installer. Help. Thanks

Unable to update parts of Adobe Design Premium CS4

I had to reinstall Adobe Design Premium CS4. I know that there are several updates for this software because I had to do this a few weeks ago and was able to update all the applications that needed updated. This time, I was only able to update Acrobat Pro using the Adobe Update Manager. I was able to download the updates for Photoshop CS4 32-bit and 64-bit, but was unable to update any other applications in the suite. It seems like the updates have disappeared from the Adobe.com servers. There were updates for every other version of the creative suites except CS4. I also checked the FTP site and nothing was there.
I need the updates. How can I go about updating if they aren't on the server. Please advise and thanks in advance.

I ran the cleaner app like you instructed me to do. I tried that and it still didn't work. I tried to install on a different computer. It still didn't work. I know for a fact that the updates for CS4 Design Premium are over 700Mb and there are updates available for Photoshop (32 and 64 bit),Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Flash, etc... I have downloaded 323Mb for Adobe Services and Acrobat CS4. I have always been able to install the updates all at once.

I have been able to recreate the error three times on my end. This means the issue needs to be fixed on Adobe's end.

Design Premium CS4 activation issues

I bought Design Premium CS4 some years ago and it was installed on my wives Macbook. As this was running slow and the small screen did not help working, so I decided to install it on my Mac. I first de-registered it on the Mac Book, uninstalled and then put it on my Mac. I now have problems with trying to activate it with the serial number. Its was a genuine purchase and I have my product details stored on my Adobe account inc the serial number, however when i type this into the activation screen it just comes up with a red cross telling me its wrong...its not!
Can someone please shed some light on this as my wife is giving me grief for moving a working copy to one we can no longer use...

Design Premium CS4 Inst Probs after TechSuite 2 trial removal

Hi all,
I recently installed Tech Suite 2 to evaluate it, and decided to stick with Tech Suite 1 for now, so I uninstalled Tech Suite 2 trial. After uninstalling Tech Suite 2 I thought it would revert to Acrobat Pro (which came with Design Premium CS4), but every time I tried to start up Acrobat it would start Acrobat 9 Pro Extended (the Tech Suite version).
It took a couple more uninstalls to completely remove Tech Suite trial, and then a couple more to uninstall Design Premium. Now, I've reinstalled Design Premium, but still don't have access to Acrobat.
Can anyone recommend how one gets the program to install successfully after removing a trial? I've activated and deactivated so many times I'm getting concerned that one of these times that will fail also.

Use the Microsoft Installer Cleanup tool to remove all traces of Acrobat.

Design Premium CS4 Commercial or Retail

Hi all,
First time using the Forum, have just purchased a full version of Design Premium CS4, but have realised that it is a commercial version. With a commercial license do you have to renew the license every year or two, or does it act like any other retail version. I have 14 days to send the product back just thought i would ask the question.

Commercial just means there are no limitations to the product and that you can install on one desktop and one laptop it is the "retail" version. The licensed versions are different and per computer regardless of the type. The only other version is a student version.
To your question of paying every x amount of years, the rule of thumb that Adobe has is that they do require that products be upgraded at least once every 3 releases. So this would mean if you have MX2004/CS, then CS4 was the last opportunity to upgrade, if you have Studio 8/CS2, CS5 will be your last opportunity to upgrade, etc, etc. At that point if you do not upgrade you would have to buy another full version and then the same upgrading rule would apply.

Design Premium CS4 stopped working: error 148:3

I am using Adobe design premium CS4. It used to work well but recently it has stopped working and displaying error :148:3. I would appreciate if someone could help me to solve this issue.

You have not provided any system information, so we can't advise specifically. This is a licensing error and the standard "cure" is to reinstall the software properly.

Where can I download Design Premium CS4?

I have misplaced my Design Premium CS4 disc and need to reinstall on a new computer. I discovered the following link on Adobe's page to download previous versions of CS4: Download CS4 products but receive the following error message when clicking the download link

Upgrade to CS5 production from design premium CS4

Is it possible to upgrade to CS5 production from design premium CS4 and not loose the ability to use CS4 software such as indesign & fireworks?

I do have an eligable copy of design premium and was about to purchase an upgrade to post production under that presumption.
After talking to the live Adobe chat person "Janet" I was left with the impression that CS4 collapses upon installation of CS5 and therefor unable to use indesign CS4 anymore.
Adobe do not seem to detail anywhere on the website this is true or not, which is making it difficult for me to upgrade to the correct suite package.

It is a Total Misconception that the Support files are installed when you are installing Windows, even if the USB drive that holds them is inserted in the system when doing the Windows install.
You must always Run the Setup.exe files from the support files or run the drivers individually once Windows has finished installing and booted to the desktop.
Also you really need to run the Boot Camp Control Panel Applet and check for updates as not all the newest drivers for full function of all the hardware is included with the original support download. That download is basically a generic version to get the system working and without doing the updates not everything will work properly.

At this point I recommend selling/returning your iPhone, and getting an older one that still has an older supported iOS.
Or buying a used or refurbished Mac that will support the iPhone. http://www.macsales.com/ and http://www.powermax.com/ are both good places to go, and the Apple Store has its own corner of older Macs to go to. Recognize PowerPC applications are not supported at higher than Mac OS X 10.6.8, and that Macs newer than July 20, 2011 can't run 10.6.8 without serious finagling. Migrating from old to new Mac also takes some work.
Recognize you don't have to buy the latest and greatest. Because if you do, you'll have to always try to make sure the software and hardware are running in sync. This is the down side of having integrated products. Eventually it does create older machines that can't run with newer devices.
