Trouble staying logged in

It seems that after updating to Yosemite and Safari 8, I'm having trouble staying logged into some sites such as Facebook and Netflix. I have the "keep me logged in" button checked too. After a couple minutes or so of browsing or watching an episode, it automatically logs me out. I even tried clearing the Cache on Safari but that didn't help.
PS. Trying to post this thread, it told me that I was logged out. :/

Where, Why, What happens? Details matter.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • Trouble staying logged in to CC

I am having a LOT of trouble using my CC...I have to login each time I use an application and then I am "logged out" while I am working so that I lose all of the fonts, have to close what I am working on, relogin and then try to see how far I get until I get kicked out again.
I had read a bunch of other similar issues and have tried the solutions offered but...no luck...I hope that someone can help me...and fast...I am on a tight deadline and just haven't got time to waste!!

The Creative Cloud App says Unable to Reach Servers. Please check your firewall settings and try again in a few minutes. If I click continue I get Unable to reach Adobe Servers. Please check your internet connectivity, firewall settings and then try again. I turned my firewall off (though I have no trouble with other requested downloads) and double checked my internet connectivity which is fine. I'd downloaded a couple of Muse templates minutes before I attempted to download the app. I've now got 10 hours into this trial with no glory. Got ahold of Tech support through the store and they say that muse has its own download support and they are off today & tomorrow. I bought a license from the store and it failed to download as well.

  • Can't stay logged in to this site

Couldn't find a better place to post this so here it is...
I can't stay logged into this forum from my work or home desktop. As soon as I close the browser, I have to log back in. I don't think it's a security setting because I have no trouble staying logged into other forums/sites on either computer. This is the only site I have trouble with. A search revealed a few people with the same problem but no solutions. Also, I didn't see a setting or checkbox to keep me logged in. Any ideas on how I can stay logged in? TIA.

This is surprising. This is the first forum (of many) that I've ever seen that won't allow me to stay logged in. Is there any good reason to do this? One of many Apple quirks I guess. Sometimes I wonder if they do some things just to be different.

  • How can i stay logged in on iPhone Skype after i delete the app from the 'current' apps?

How can i stay logged in on iPhone Skype after i delete the app from the 'current' apps?
    Thanks for ur answers !

You are correct. There is no other way to recover this material, and yes it would have been a good idea to backup the iPhone prior to the restore. Remember that a restore to a previous date deletes everything on the device and puts it back to the state of things on the date you choose. The texts and contacts would be gone. Did you possibly sync the contacts with a supported application on the computer? That is the only other way to recover contacts. They are designed to be synced with a supported application on the computer, or with a cloud service such as iCloud, Google or Yahoo.

  • How can I get MY LOGIN to stay logged in for twoweeks or more.....Currently I have to log in every time I go to firefox with ID & Password. The box does not affect it.

When I click on the Firefox logo it owns screen and the mail box button appears. I click on that and it requires me to enter my e-mail address and password. There is a box with a checkmark in it to stay logged in but it doesn't work. Whether it is once a day or 4 times a day I go to Firefox to look at mail I have to put in the full e-mail address and password even though the box is checked to stay logged in. I really like firefox as a browser but we have to fix this for me to stay with FireFox.

Apps can only be updated using the same Apple ID and password they were originally purchased with.

  • Since I updated Firefox I have to constantly re log-in to my Yahoo account such as email. Every time I leave the page I have to log-in to get back into it. I also run OPERA and I do not have that problem with them. I stay logged in. Any suggestions?

I have windows Vista and have the updated version of Firefox. I also can run OPERA and LUNASCAPE with no problems. When running Firefox I have to constant re log-in to my Yahoo account every time I leave the page. For example: I log in to check my email on Yahoo and then leave my email page. Then when I return to recheck my email I have to log in all over again. I can't stay logged in. If I run my OPERA browser I stay logged in for days without having to sign in all over again.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

By the way, I also updated my Macbook Pro 17" (mid-2009) and it seems to be running fine, though I haven't tried to restart it and log in. I'm afraid I won't be able to get this one to work either if I do.

  • I'm having trouble staying connected to the internet

I'm having trouble "staying" connected to the internet.

    hmmmmmmm..........
How are you connected to "the internet?"  There are many ways & you provided none.
If wireless, are you using one of Apple's routers, or a 3rd part one?  If the latter post in their forums or contact their tech support department.
    Last but not least:
Please detail all you have done to resolve your issue.  Need this information so that the users can avoid the "been there, done that" scenario type responses.  This is to avoid repeating the troubleshooting you may have already tried.  Thank you.

  • DROID: Skype, Yahoo, ETC wont stay logged on?

Ever since I got my droid, I have not been very happy with it.
I log into my skype and my yahoo messenger. I have a family member and friend deployed in afghanistan. I want to be reachable on the skype when I am not home.
I had downloaded the app killer, and was noticing that my skype and yahoo were logging off. I would go to skype to go on it, and it would log on, come back 10 minutes later, it wants to log on again! WTH!? Why doesnt it stay logged in?
Deleted the app killer, still logs off. I have 4 bars and EVDO the entire time. Why does it keep logging off!? What good is this program if it logs me off?
I tried downgrading to 2.0.1, then redid 2.1. Downloaded a leaked 2.2 to see if that worked, tried wiping the device.
This is very frustrating. Anyone have any ideas on how to keep Skype logged on? I have all the check boxes checked in the options.

I emailed Skype and they told me to delete the app, and reinstall it.
Went to the android market, Skype isnt listed. Used Verizon and Skypes text links to try to download, says the app doesnt exist.
Looks like when I tried my update to 2.2 (did this since it wasnt working on 2.0.1 or 2.1) now its not available at all. WTH!?

  • How do I stay logged into my service provider home page.

I have an ATT Account and use the classic home page with the Firefox Browser. I want to stay logged in for at least 2 weeks or more, but each time I enter the Firefox browser, it requires me to re-insert my full ID and Password. How do I change this so I will remain signed in for a period of at least two weeks before having to enter the email ID and password again. I've added an exception for this site in the Tools section and it still doesn't work.

My sign in box no longer has the 2 week check box, how do I get it back?

Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
    * Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Private Browsing mode.
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Private+Browsing
    * In [[Private Browsing]] mode all cookies are session cookies that expire if that session is ended, so websites won't remember you.
    * Do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.

  • Can't get Safari to stay logged in to sites.

I want to make the Switch from Google Chrome to Safari, but this has proved impossible so far, because Safari will not stay logged in to a lote of sites.  It seems that various Internet forums are the worst offenders, but I've noticed it on occasion with my Gmail account and a few other things as well.
I've tried most of the obvious things: Deleting cache, cookies, and whatnot; turning on "always accept cookies," rather than the default about ignoring ones you don't manually visit, which shouldn't be necessary anyway; deleting some entries from Keychain Access; even deleting Safari's settings .plist file.  None of those have worked.  It almost seemed good again for a brief moment, but then I once again got stuck in an endless loop of logging in (i.e. navigate to forum page, goes back to login page, I log in, navigate to forum page, goes back to login page, repeat ad nauseam.)
I don't have this problem with any other browser I've used, and it's pretty much a deal breaker w/r/t using Safari as a default browser.  I've read quite a lot about this being a very common problem, but I couldn't find any great answers, not to mention that a lot of the stuff I found was years old.
    Any ideas?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.

    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”

The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
    Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.

Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.
