Trouble synching in iTunes 10

I'm having trouble synching my iPhone 3GS. I want to upgrade to the latest version of software for the iPhone but when I try, I get a message informing me that there are purchases on my phone that need transferring.
I have backed up my phone several times and right clicked the phone icon in the device section and selected "transfer purchases". It seemed to do that yet each time I still get the error message that purchases need to be transferred.
I have tried reinstalling iTunes 10. Also when I look at the applications tab, it is frayed out and I can't move any of the application between pages...
Any suggestions?

It should sync the same if the songs are the same. You can try:
- Unsyncing all music and resysncing
- Restoring the iPod

Iphone 3G - activated - but cant synch to iTunes

My iPhone 3G is succesfully activated (Switzerland) but now i have troubles
to synch to iTunes... there's a warning:
"The iPhone couldn't synch. The needed file hasn't been found."

I have a similar problem, maybe the service provider stuffed something up when they activated our iPhones in store?
They appeared very clumsy and didn't seem to know what they were doing.

Voice memos not synching to iTunes since ios8

is Apple even looking into this problem? It's so frustrating! It worked perfectly until I upgraded to ios8, now my newly recorded voice memos won't synch to iTunes.

Anyone experiencing this issue see below. I found these steps & IT WORKED!
THIS WORKED FOR ME!
1. With Windows Vista and iTunes 11.1.4
2. Connect iPhone
3. Click on you iPhone found under the search bar.
4. Click on Summary scroll to the bottom
5. Under Options select Manually manage music and video (NOTE only if it's unchecked otherwise go to step 7)
6. Click Apply
7. Click on "On This Phone"
8. Select all your voice memos (Warning, you may want to try this for one first to make sure it works for you)
9. Right Click to Get Info
10. Click Yes for the edit information dialog
11. Change Genre to Other and click on OK
12. Click on Music
13. Select Sync Music with Selected Playlist and Include Voice Memos as checked
14. Click Apply
15. You Voice Memos should now all have synced to your "voice memos" playlist under music.
16. Once they are in your library you can set the Genre to Voice Memo again by select - Get Info (Right Click Mouse)

I am trying to remove a 'Contacts' subfolder
ie Contacts < default folder
- Contacts Mysubfolder 1 < Trying to remove this subfolder folder
via my microsoft outlook onto my iPhone.
Despite not having 'Contacts Mysubfolder 1' on my PC's outlook after deleting it, it does not delete the subfolder in my iPhone.
I even restored my iPhone settings to the original via iTunes.
I also replaced my physical iPhone but still synching with my original Apple ID + iTunes on the same desktop.
All I did was after replacement of my iP, i setup my microsoft Exchange account, and there it was, the Contacts subfolder which is no longer around, appears on my iPhone contacts folder list.
My outlook is on Microsoft exchange and I am on iP 3Gs

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you are running 64-bit Windows and the above steps haven't helped try installing the version of iTunes that can be downloaded from this support document. iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)
If you still have no luck try reinstalling iTunes 12.0, links in the user tip.

My Apple TV (1st Gen) will not synch with iTunes on my Laptop

I've been trying to do this for a while, it shouldn't be too difficult i think.
All i want to do is synch all the content on my laptop with my Apple TV (and vice versa) so all the content including photos and home videos is the same on both my Apple TV and my laptop.
Some points:
There's enough hard drive space on both
I'm using Windows 7 ultimate on my laptop
The correct port exceptions have been added to Windows Firewall
I have purchases on both my laptop and Apple TV from the iTunes store
We're using a wireless network and it while it's possible to get them both cable wired, it would be a pain
Home networking is set up in iTunes on my laptop
I've set up my Apple TV to synch (not stream) with my account on my laptop
Both iTunes and Apple TV are up to date with their downloads
I think that's it - am i missing anything, or should this now just work?

It's been synching for over 4 hours and hasnt got past the first film and the progress bar is not moving

Mac iOS version 10.5.8 and iTunes on Mac is 10.6.1. iPad and iPhone version is 6.0(10A403). When I check for updates on the Mac book pro it says software versions are up to date.
When I check for iTunes version 10.6.3 it looks like it is for snow leopard operating system which I am not on. How to I get my devices to sync with computer. Everything worked prior to iOS 6 upgrade on remote devices.

iPhone 4s won't sync with my Macbook Pro.
I iust updated the iPhone to iOS6 (thought it wasn't syncing before the update either).
Macbook Pro running Mac OS 10.5.8
iTunes 10.6.3 (i.e. latest update - which hasn't had an issues apart from syncing).
I tried 3 different USB sync cables. Still not syncing.
Do I really have to update my Mac OS to 10.6.8 in order to sync my phone ? I thought as long as you have iTunes 10.6.3 you're ok...
Is there a way to update to Mac OS 10.6.8 (or later) without wiping the hard drive and doing a new install?..

It soundsl ike you are needing to copy your iTunes purchases to your computer rather than sync it at this point. You can use the following article to transfer your purchases with the following article:

iTunes account= Used to make iTunes purchases.
iTunes library = All your media and what you see when you open iTunes.

On your computer go to the control panel (hover in the lower right corner) then programs, add/remove programs
Uninstall iTunes, Apple Mobile Device Service, Apple Application Support then go to apple.com and redownload and reinstall iTunes and try again.
You won't lose any content, you're not deleting that, just the programs that access them.
What is thought to happen is that sometimes a new version of itunes doesn't update the drivers in those other two programs. The only way to update the drivers is to force it by uninstalling the programs which allows itunes to write the correct ones.
My iPad and iPod did exactly the same thing and this is how I fixed it.

Hi, thank you for the reply, unfortunetly i have tried all the suggestions on that link (and quite a few more).
The message is completely random as to whether its a download from the itunes store or something i have imported or a cd that i have added to my itunes. I have got to a point now where it will synch a certain amount of tracks (or photo's, books, etc) and then just give me an -50 message regardless of what it is i am trying to synch, my 80gb classic has now become a 50mb classic!

My ipod no longer syncs with iTunes and my computer. It shows up under devices, but not in itunes. I installed an update from Apple yesterday. Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
New cable and different USB port?

The last security update released for Tiger users was the 2009-005 update. The latest version of QuickTime is 7.6.4. The last version of iTunes that can run on Tiger is 9.2.1, because 10.0 only supports Mac OS X Leopard and later.
So, are you on version 9.2.1?
Was it Tiger or Leopard you had on the drive before?

TS1453 Apple TV (1st Generation) no longer synching with iTunes

Since updating to OS X 10.7.4 I am no longer able to synch my Apple TV with iTunes on my 21.5" iMac. The Apple TV appears on the list of devices in iTunes and is connected to the internet, but it will not synch with iTunes on my computer. Also since the update I am no longer able to wirelessly print files and can only print by connecting my printer cable. Looking at the community pages I suspect the problem lies with Bonjour and this may have been affected by the update. Has anyone experienced similar problems, or can you offer help to overcome this frustrating issue?

Have you tried the following:
Navigate to Settings > Computers > Your Library on the Apple TV, you may be told you will lose all synced content, but you can sync it back afterwards, you won't lose any purchased content that has yet to be transferred. Then select Settings > Computers > Connect To iTunes, note the passcode that appears on screen, click on the device in iTunes and enter the passcode when prompted.
