You using wifi, 3G? Either way, not uncommon. You need a strong signal from both. If it is lagging it is due to poor strength, or latency issues relating to the signal.

New Album Art View slow and stutters.

I have a 128MB video card and 1GB of Ram running about 3.0Ghz
But I still get a problem when using the new album art browser view on iTunes. It's really slow and stutters. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem or could give me a tip in fixing it.

I enabled 'Album Views' and the first 5 seconds or so of most songs are garbled (maybe while the image is loading?). I turn off the view album and the garbling goes away. Having the album artwork available is not as important as having songs that don't stutter or are garbled.

Edge Animate slow and stuttering preview in the program / smooth when exported.

In Edge Animate when working at the state animations (even simple ones) are really slow and stuttering. When exporting the animation and viewing it in Chrome it runs super smooth. Whats the problem? I am on Windows 8.1 x64 ...

its more like stuttering .... i have no freezes or so but it appears like ... for example in games, when you have "vertical sync" turned off and the image is jaggered. The preview inside Edge Animate behaves like this, when i render it and view in Chrome ... everything is smooth and nice.

How can we correct a blocked plug in when trying to view internet videos?

My son's computer suddenly started stating "Blocked plug in" when trying to view any videos on the internet. We followed the instructions to upgrade Adobe Flashplayer but have been unsuccessful on many attempts and we have no leads to follow to correct the problem.
Can anyone help or suggest something? Thanks.

Try this, uninstalling and then reinstalling Adobe Flash:

Select the OSX for you run the .dmg installer (you can go to Safari Preferences/General "Save doenloaded file to:" select other and then select desktop from the left column.
Run the installer pkg.
When it has completed, reboot your computer to finish the install.

Trouble viewing online video with Pismo

I am having trouble viewing video online. But not all video. For instance, I can view clips on YouTube without a problem, but clips that play on CNN.com or NBC.com (i.e.) stutter and do not flow smoothly.
Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution?

If you have not installed Flip4Mac, a free upgrade to support .wmv formats, you should do so.
That is a well know problem. It is caused by the processor-intensive decoding required by some video formats.
The solution is to upgrade your PowerBook to a newer old Mac with a G4 or better that includes faster and more advanced numeric processing.
If your videos appear in a player with controls, waiting for the download to complete before allowing the movie to play improves the situation. In QuickTime Player, you can "step" through ALL the frames as fast as possible (but with no sound) by using the right-arrow key. This will show you what you missed when it jumped frames to keep up.

Videos slow and choppy online

I checked my connection speed and it's fine. However, when I play videos, especially YouTube, they stop and start again. There's no fluid movement. It's gotten increasingly worse lately. There's constantly that stop with the circle/dot image.
I've had this problem in the past with half hour shows (like on Hulu), but now it's happening with 3 minute videos. Is there anything I can do? Even when I checked the connection speed, that little dial thing jumped around.
I have 20 GB available, and I used MacJanitor. I'm out of ideas.

So we've proved it is not a problem with your Internet connection speed and that the trouble is probably the G4 processor.
Flash formats have gone through a lot of changes. Macromedia (original) was bought out by Adobe a few years back and things now demand a very modern machine, it seems.
The older .swf files (vector based and usually graphics based) were no trouble but the newer incarnations use more standard video codecs (like H.264) and they demand more CPU power.

Quicktime, DVD Player slow and stuttering..everything else also slow

I just upgraded to Leopard on a 17" G4. Everything is slower, but especially Quicktime and DVD. A movie's sound is OK, but the video sputters and stalls. Called Apple - they had me trash all the various preferences and start over - no change. I did an archive and reinstall - also to no effect. However,I created a brand new user and Quicktime works fine in this user (playing a movie from an external drive).
Any ideas? My job has me displaying QT movies all the time. How can I stop pulling out my hair in anguish? I have cache 512 Kb, memory 1 GB, and about 5 Gigs available (install took about 11 Gigs). Is it a memory problem?

I had the same problem on my 17" G4 right after my Leopard upgrade, but it eventually went away all by itself.
Try this. Open a Quicktime movie but do NOT play it. Wait a minute. Now start playing it. If your system acts like mine the movie will now play without stuttering -- even in full screen. Whereas if you start playing it immediately it will stutter. That "minute" is not hard and fast. It just takes some time for something to happen in the background AFTER the file is open and BEFORE you start playing it to get smooth playback.
I've not idea what's going on here. It may be related to Spotlight indexing, or something else. All I can say is after a day or two I stopped seeing any stuttering even for files that I began to Play immediately upon opening.

How to get rid of 8800GT Video Laggin and Stutters

Hi there I know you must be sick of my complaints of the same issue all the time but ive still not managed to fixed this this is my 4th 8800GT that ive owned since last december
when the y got released Ive even tried XP and still the same with the latest drivers 175.16 i even tried 169.25 and that does it also In Vista 169.25 worked better but a lag now and then is there some settings that must enabled or is my cpu been bottlenecked by some thing running , the only time I have something running is when I play Fifa08 that program running is Winamp thats it aside from my Logitech Setpoint and NOD32 AV thats all So can some please help me out and Its with most of the games it lags, Give me some thing to try out please.. GT70 internet very slow and sluggish when waking from sleep

My GT70 sometimes is very slow and sluggish to respond when it is awoken from sleep mode. Browsers become unresponsive (hyperlinks don't register as links and require multiple clicks to respond) and internet gets very slow. Speedtest.net reports .50-3mb/s when it is usually 24mb/s and above. The hdd also thrashes about and won't calm down for what seems like an eternity.
This only happens when opening the lid after the machine sits idle for several hours. This is fixed by restarting the machine.
Does anyone know why this laptop would be behaving like this? it is very frustrating and makes sleep mode pretty much useless.

Trouble viewing online videos (streaming issue?)

Hello. I'm having trouble watching online videos. Video podcasts downloaded in iTunes are fine, but if for instance I want to watch a TV show online or a video clip from a news website, the picture is choppy and the sound breaks up. It's as if it isn't streaming properly (if that is the correct term). I have an original Macbook (2006), OSX10.4.11, 2 GHz Intel, 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM if that helps anyone. My husband has the same computer, purchased at the same time, only his was the model with more memory (not sure how much at the moment). His works fine, though.
Also, not sure if this is related, but my computer has a tendency to spin (or make the noise as if it is spinning) randomly - sometimes for long periods of time.
Please any advice on how to solve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Problem viewing video, something about an ad blocker. I had no trouble viewing streaming video until I downloaded firefox 4

I do not have any trouble watching streaming video on the Netflix website, but all other streaming video such as on a tv network or on IMDB.com comes back unavailable or blocked by an ad blocker. The only change to my computer I have done is upgrade my Mazilla Firefox browser. Something downloaded with it maybe that is blocking streaming transmissions. I need to know how to disable or bypass the problem.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The missing apps could have been done by setting the Restrictions that can hid those apps. If the backup was made with those retrictions set the the Restrictions are also restored.
Thus, if you get it to work restore to factory settings/new iPod, not from backup

IChat audio fine, video slow and sync drifts

Hello all,
I upgraded to OS 10.5.2 last week on my iMac G5 2.1 GHz PPC G5 with 2.5 GB of RAM. I can text message all I want, but my one to one video conferencing does not work properly.
Audio is fine and works in real time. The video starts off out of sync, the image is slow, and the degree to which the audio is out of sync increases over a chat session. Over several minutes, the video will end up being five minutes or more out of sync, so that if my buddy gets up from his desk, I will not see this on the video for several minutes even though the audio is in real time. When video chatting, iChat's use of RAM goes from about 90 MB to 110 MB and it's use of CPU goes to 100% of the CPU time.
If I look at capabilities in Connection Doctor, video effects and background effects are not available and the good doctor tells me I have insufficient CPU.
I had no problems with video in OS 10.4 and the one buddy with whom I am chatting has no problem otherwise with video on his end (running 10.5 on an iMac that has Intel chips).
This seems to be a somewhat different than anyone else has reported and I have also seen on other threads at least some folks report that their problems have cleared up over the last few days.
Anyone have any ideas what is going?

If you have also done the Time Machine and Airport Update you may get a message about not being able to Install the Update

Trouble viewing purchased videos in videos app

I am suddenly having a problem viewing all my purchased videos (saved on the cloud) in the videos app. Regardless of whether the "show all videos" option is on or off in settings, I am only being shown the videos I have currently downloaded to my ipad. Never had this problem before and I still view everything normally on my iPhone. Hoping someone might be able to help!

Try basic troubleshooting steps. Close the videos app and reboot the iPad.
Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the Videos app and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Internet too slow and erratic to update software

I have had an iMac G5 at home for about one year. The problem is my internet connection (DSL) is too slow and erratic to download files bigger than 10 mb. Can I get software updates on a CD? Or is there another way to get those downloaded files? Zipped, maybe?
