Trouble with form on a view
Hi,
I have trouble with the ROWID (ORA-01445) error when running the standard doQuery function on a button in a Form.
Is it possible to use doQuery or do I have to write my own PL/SQL code, if so where can I find information on this (like the code for doQuery would be nice).

It's been months in since moving to Acrobat X and I still can't get it. It's so infuriating with all the menu items moved to the sidebar. Over all I find things take longer now. Good thing I kept version 8 on hand.
But anyway, these are my current headaches:
- how do you GET OUT of form editing mode? In Acrobat 8 you just click the hand tool. In X I click the Preview button to test out the form, but all other non-form functions are disabled. I have to close the file and then reopen it.
- if I select several fields at once and then nudge their position using the arrow keys, it messes up the tab order forcing me to re-do the order. This doesn't happen if I nudge one form at a time but I don't want to nudge 20 fields on their own.
- Click to Set Tab Order has apparantly been removed. I can't find it at least. While the ability to reorder via the list is handy, in many situations the click to reorder is much faster.
And to top it all off, editing forms is slow. There is a lag of a second or 2 after each thing I do. I will be going back to Actobat 8 when dealing with forms.I do see the same delay, which is why I never edit forms on a Mac. The screen does multiple redraws whenever I open into edit mode, and when an item is added/removed/resized/relocated. It is impossible to get anything done in the Mac version imho, this does not seem to be an issue on PC (at least, not to me).
I also keep older versions around - I almost never use Acrobat X. The interface is horrible (I liken it to Microsoft's switch to the 'Ribbon' in Office) I will agree that it takes a lot longer to do anything (I had to make changes that required me to constantly switch back and forth between different tabs on the sidebar instead of being able to select a single menu item). About the only thing in Acrobat which hasn't been a huge step backwards over the various versions is the Javascript editor (and that's only because they couldn't have made it any worse to begin with!)
I will say this, though - with all of the issues in Acrobat/PDF forms, at least it isn't Microsoft Word. I am forced to work on several forms in Word, and I can tell you that experience is excruciating. -
Trouble with forms not fuctioning for Mac users
I have created a form in LC Designer that works great on PC, but doesn't work on on Mac. Or rather doesn't work on all Mac machines. I have tested the form on two different Mac machines in my office and it seems to work fine. However, those outside the office are not able to save the completed form or allow the user to use the email submit button. Is there something I can do to make this user-friendly for Mac users?
The email button function is the least of the issues. The fonts and type size are altered, parts of the form drop out and the form fields appear to be blank until you click on them. Upon click the information then appears. It's really very odd.
Additionally, they can not save the form to their desktop. I thought that this was me forgetting to enable user rights, but that was not the case. At the moment, Mac users can only print the form and fax it.

Upgraded to Mountain Lion but now filling out forms (i.e. signing into Yahoo Mail, Facebook, Wikipedia home page) is a complete nightmare. Is there any way to solve this issue? I was fine before I upgraded. It took me several minutes just to sign into my Apple account to post this question. I get the pinwheel and the page even freezes. Need help. Thanks.
You may have just pasted your code in a funny way but I noticed your 'if' statement is underneath the rest of your message. Assuming it is in the correct place and you change "Total[1] - 136.15" to "Total[1] = 136.15" it should work. Also just to let you know that in formcalc you can use the "$" to reference the field you are in (so you could use $ instead of Total[1] in your formula).

Has anyone had trouble with photo albums and viewing photos after downloading a newer version of iPhoto?
I downloaded mountain lion and then iPhoto '11 in order to tap into iCloud capabilities with all of my devices. (My Mac was outdated in regards to operating platform to do this). After installing iPhoto 11, I had to repair and rebuild my library of photos. However, after doing this, all of my albums were jumbled and, while I can see the image thumbnail, when I click on the thumbnail, and error that looks like a black triangle and gray exclamation pops up as opposed to the larger hi def image I want to view.

As it says above, i have been having a lot f trouble with my ipod classic and the latest itunes update, i was unable to sync songs or anything to it and have tried every conceivable 'fix' i could find. i have run an itunes diagnostic and the results are posted below. a major problem is that when i try and view my ipod through my computer it displays nothing at all on the ipod, no files or anything, this may be the problem but i have no idea how it has happened or how i could resolve it.
This ipod holds huge sentimental value and i am loathe to buy a new one! If anybody can help it is greatly appreciated, than kyou in advanced.

My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc. -
I recently added my old mac hard drive to a new macbook with an SSD as my main OSX drive. I am having trouble with permissions in viewing my old hard drive, when I save a permission when I reboot the full access is changed again . What is the best way to get complete access to my old hd installed in my new Macbook?
Open the Get Info window for the old drive. Click the Lock icon on the bottom of that window and type in your password. In the permissions area click the Plus sign ( + ) and Add your Username to it and set it to Read & Write. Close that window. you should now have full access to all the files.

The first page works fine but when I submit my form it fails. I debugged and the request object doesn't look right.

there is an issue with Internet Explorer that causes this problem when you launch the BSP applicaiton using the test menu in SE80. The issue does not occur with Firefox...very strange I know.
Anyway, to get around this you just copy the BSP application URL and open a browser and paste the URL in...so essentially do not use the "Test" in SE80 to launch your application.

Trying to save other as extended reader has not worked, also if I save the attachment file as an extended reader first I am unable to attach a return hyperlink back to the Parent document,
Help would be greatly appreciated please and thank you!I can't say for certain without looking at the actual PDF but it does appear that they created one large text box over multiple lines. For a fillable form it may have been smarter to remove the lines and create a box with smaller text that supports multiple lines.
At any rate, nothing you can do about it with the free Reader (and depending on the security, maybe nothing with Acrobat either.) -
I am having trouble with a form, won't tab to 2nd page...
I am having trouble with a form I created in Acrobat Pro 10. I created tabs etc, they all work wonderfully in Adobe, but once I uploaded it onto the web-based program for other users, the tabs only work on page 1, I have to click on page 2 to keep tabbing through. It won't tab into it. Any advise? Also, when the users open it it opens in the web.
1. The library is separate from the application, so re-installing shouldn't cause an issue with the actual photos. But it would be foolhardy in the extreme to do anything without first backing up.
2. Often these issues are caused by a damaged Library, so reinstalling doesn't change much.
FWIW
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store you can find it in your Purchases List.
Alternative approach:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Trouble with the hosted website from a page viewer web part. (Sahrepoint 2010)
Hi everyone,
I am facing trouble with sharepoint and I would like some help.
I use Sharepoint 2010 and I have included a page viewer page part in one the pages I 've created that hosts another website. Although most of the functionality of the hosted website is there, some functions of it don't work. These functions are apply buttons
or downloading documents buttons. My guess is that the web part has to update dynamically and it should be independent from the Sharepoint page.
Is there a way to do this? It is important that the website is hosted in the since at the same page I have s guide on how to use the hosted website.
If this can't be done using a page viewer webpart I am open to other suggestions as well.

SakisIs it possible that the hosted website page is using HTML5 of other functionality that isn't supported by the IE-8 restriction in the SharePoint master page? We've run into that before, where the page wouldn't work in the page viewer. I also had problems
where Chrome/Firefox wouldn't display a pager viewer when it crossed hosts/changed protocol.
What I had to do was add some javascript/Jquery to pop up another window to view the page if I wasn't on IE, getting out of the restriction of the SharePoint master page. If I was in IE the page viewer webpart worked. Not ideal, but maybe you could
adapt - they could see your instructions on the page but work with the host page on another.

Trouble with Materialized View

I'm in need of some help enforcing data integrity using a materialized view. In my example, each system may consist of three types of components and this is modeled using supertype/subtype relationships. I'm trying to enforce that, for a given system, a component cannot reside in more than one component table. For example, given System 1, if Component A exists in the mobile_components table, it cannot be inserted into the desktop_components table for System 1. Rather than using triggers, I'm attempting to use a materialized view with unique constraint to enforce this rule based on the example from Tom Kyte's "The Trouble With Triggers" article http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/issue-archive/2008/08-sep/o58asktom-101055.html. However, I can't seem to get it to work as it gives me ORA-12054: Cannot set the ON COMMIT refresh attribute. I'm using UNION ALL, and I know that can be tricky, but I can't figure out what rules I'm breaking. I have the necessary privileges. Oracle 11g. Can anyone help?
