Troubleshooting a publishing error

I ran in to my first publishing error when updating my blog this morning. Thought my experience might help others.
The iWeb file would error out while uploading to .Mac. It didn't offer a reason for the error. It would just stop publishing.
I eliminated a photo file that might have been a problem. Still no luck.
I quit iWeb and relaunched. When iWeb opened it gave me a message about a missing file. Didn't tell me which one but I quickly found it, deleted it from the page and -- voila! -- it loads fine.
Quitting and reopening iWeb might help you locate a problem when the file won't publish.
Good luck!

Yes, not having a chapter marker at the end only refers to the end that is at the end. Not the end that is at the other end.
While logically the question is a good one, Encore puts a chapter marker at the beginning whether you want one or not. And one way to get this problem is to think  you've faked Encore out by putting the first chapter marker two frames in.
You can label Encore's Chapter 1. I thought you had to wait till you were in Encore, but in CS6 at least, you can name it in Premiere,
If you are seeing a chapter at one second; you may have 2. In a test, Encore does not move the marker when I transcode.
Be sure you are not seeing a poster frame marker.
And it may be a different chapter marker or some other problem that is throwing the error.
I assume there is only one Premiere sequence on your one timeline, correct?
From your description, I would look for an accidental chapter marker too close to another one.
I would start over with a new Encore project.

  • How can I solve this publishing error in iWeb?

Suddenly, when I try to publish in iWeb, I get the following error message:
    Publish error:
Can't create the file "site/home.html." The disk may be damaged or full, or you must not have sufficient access privileges
Well, I have a Mac Pro tower, loaded with plenty of space and my disk definitely isn't damaged. Go Daddy (my host) first told me it might be a firewall problem and to contact my internet provider, which I did. But they told me there were no outgoing firewalls. So I went back to go Daddy, who reset all my permissions, but I still got the same iWeb message listed above when I tried to publish. Go Daddy was able upload my files at their end as a test, which means the problem is right here with my iWeb.
    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Publish Error

I copied my Domain onto my laptop and wanted to upload parts of that site onto a new MobileMe account. I deleted all of the other files and tried to upload. I already set up a dedicated User Account with all of the Mobile Me info. Gallery is working fine....
When I try to Publish Site, it processes the pages and I get the upload "clock". When I try to Publish Site CHANGES, it works. When I try to Publish ENTIRE SITE, I get the error below. All of the files also remain red....

  • IWeb team: What's up with the repeated Blog publish errors?

I maintain a simple, albeit many-entry -- all with photos, Blog on my daughter's .Mac iWeb site. Since the last iWeb update, I've started to encounter repeated difficulties when attempting to publish new Blog entries. All other updates on the site (Photo Albums, About Me, etc.) successfully publish, whereas new Blog entries pose the same problem, as follows:
"Publish error - Can't create the file "shapeimage_(blah, blah, blah).png. The disk may be damaged, full, or you may not have sufficient access privileges."
Many of you are VERY familiar with that ubiquitous message. However, my many attempts at troubleshooting and workarounds (e.g. publish to a folder, close open applications, delete files from iDisk, republish all, trash and rebuild pages, Domain reloads, etc. -- thank you, James Tseng, Varkgirl, et al.) fail to isolate the CAUSE of the problem. Specifically, what is the iWeb app doing while it assembles the Blog page(s) that results in the iWeb-centric "can't create..." error message?
Please note that I am doing nothing different when adding a new Blog. The process is the exact same one that I've employed for over a year, one that lets iPhoto/iWeb do most of the work (in terms of layout).
As most of you know, it's a time-consuming process waiting for updates to publish to the site, let alone wondering IF the updates will successfully publish.
Unless I am mistaken and more often than not, the "shape_image" error message is pointing to a file generated by iWeb as it readies the behind-the-scenes HTML for upload, yes?
I'd appreciate some specific troubleshooting and answers, please.

  • HELP - unknown publisher error

In preparation of my new iphone turning up tomorrow - thought would download itunes. Never used it before. 3 hrs in and still not installed!! Keep getting Unknown Publisher Error. Things I've tried so far: using Mozilla instead of IE. Emptying Temp folder. Downloading QT separtately. Numerous restarts. Help me please!!!

You've been doing the sensible things with your troubleshooting, lee.
How are you connecting to the internet?
For example, my Lenovo T61 is connecting wirelessly to a LinkSys WRT54G wireless router that is plugged into a Motorola SB5100 Surfboard cable modem.
What sort of setup do you have?

  • I also encounter a publishing error

The past few days, I have encountered a publishing error. I am using iWeb 1.1. When I publish, the content online does update, but iWeb gives an error message at the end and acts as if nothing has published. To update anything I have to update everything now (a time-consuming experience), as any change in iWeb does not register as published even though it does change online. I published to a folder without a problem. I deleted my sites from MobileMe and republished, but that had no effect.
Late tonight I got an email saying that I was getting an additional 60 days of MobileMe service in addition to the 30 days they gave me last month due to the rocky start. Could this publishing error relate to that?
Up until Friday (4 days ago) I had no problems with publish, except for last month after the big switch over to MobileMe. Is anyone else experiencing a publishing error where their sites actually update, but iWeb just does not want to recognize it?

Some times all it takes is deleting the .plist to fix this but do the restart and permissions repair if you haven't done this proceedure for a while.

  • Publish Error but no specifics to indicate what the problem is

I have been working on my webpage all night - adding pages, editing, etc and when I went to publish the changes after saving, it took an incredibly long time (creating pages that did not have any changes for one) and at the end it gives me a lame "Publish Error" - there was a problem publishing to .Mac." But nothing to explain why there was a problem.
I have tried deleting pages that were newly created in case there was too much new material all at once but nothing has worked.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks.

  • IWeb publishing error

When I try to publish updates to my webpages I get the message - "There was an error updating .Mac." I have tried deleting the preferences file and rebooting.
