Trying my first web link in presentation

I want to link to a genealogy web page then come back to my presentation.
I have a blandk page that I have inserted the URL and it goes to the web page.
How do I get back to my presentation?
I tried Tab-command, but that takes me to my Finder. That is awkward.
I must be missing something, but can't figure out a smooth return.

Woodchopper,
You are almost there - when you create a link to a website and click on the link object during Keynote play, it appears as if your Keynote has stopped and the web page opens.
When you then press CMD-Tab to return you should see a strip of applications running in the background (including Finder and Keynote) - the icon for Keynote has a green arrow on it indicating that it will take you back to the presentation.
Whille HOLDING down the CMD Key, hit Tab until the Keynote Application Icon is selected and then let go - this should return you to your Keynote presentation and to the slide from which you jumped.
Hope this helps.

    Hi Experts,
    I have installed the SAP SneakPreview for java stack on my laptop. Also installed NWDS 7 in the laptop. Then tried the first Web Dynpro tutorial in SDN. But nt able to deploy the Web Dynpro application. My SDM, dispatcher and server0 are running. Infact i gave the settings for the SAP Enterprise Portal and SAP J2EE Engine in the Preferences page. For SAP J2EE Engine i selected the --SAP J2EE engine installed on local host.(second option). Inspite of all these settings it is giving a deployment error. Please do help me out. Thanks a lot in advance.

    I am having the exact same problem.  I get the "Only Administrators have the right..." error.  I even tried giving all users and groups I could see Administrator rights... probably not a smart thing to do, but hey its my laptop.  I have XP Professional SP2 I think, and passed all the system requirements, and yes I installed the loop back adapter.  I had previously had this same laptop to a point where I could deploy an ear, but the 90 day trial expired.  I then uninstalled and re-installed.  It is frustrating... it seems like it functions differently each time I attempt to install NetWeaver04 SP16.  It would be very nice to be able to complete the ejb tutorial....

    Am logged in to Creative Cloud, have saved a web gallery, and am trying to publish first web gallery.  Consistently get the same message, 'An error occurred sending the file : connection to the server failed'.  Can somebody help me to resolve this?

    Firstly, have you entered the correct FTP settings as given by the host where you are uploading to?
    Next, try using Export and then uploading via an external FTP program like Filezilla. FTP from Lightroom isn't as robust as a dedicated FTP program.

    Apple Magic Mouse responds but does not want to click to web links, but gives options instead, go back, look up, save, etc?  Changed batteries but does not solve the mouse problem.  I click all over the page and it continues to provide options and link is indicated in blue, but have to keep trying until it finally let me continue.

    Are you sure you are clicking on the left side of the mouse, rather than somewhere in the middle (and probably closer to the right side)?

  • Web links (URLs) are being parsed in the conversation feed - disable this?

    I noticed that some of recent updates in skype for mac started to be too clever with links I post in conversations - it tries to fetch the content, parse it and present some small excerpt if it in the conversation.  But I mostly message links to closed sites - like Google Docs or internal knowledge base - and they require logging in. So, I know mostly see in my conversations with collegues something like this. How can I disable this behavior? I want to see plain links, I do not need this supersmart parsing.

    Well, I want to see IMAGES in the chat (i.e. someone transmits actual image data), but I don't want to see WEB PREVIEWS (previews of web pages, or the picture an image URL points to) in the chat. Data is data, and a link is a link. Data should be displayed, and links should remain links. If someone wants me to see a web page, they should make a screen grab to their local computer, and then send me the picture as an image. Otherwise they should send me a link, which then I can peruse at my own convenience (which usually includes first scrubbing the link of any identifying trailing garbage.)
    As a matter of fact, I don't want Microsoft/Skype to PARSE ANYTHING that I transmit.
    Just as automatic loading of remote images in HTML e-mail messages constitutes a major security risk and privacy breach, so does this web preview function.
    I have absolutely no intention to disclose who I'm conversing with and what we talk about, but if someone sends me a link that hasn't been properly "cleaned up", then the site will know who sent me the link, who received it, what the conversation might have been about etc. and that information is sent without my consent.
    I have ZERO tolerance for Microsoft's lack of sensitivity to privacy, and where we users are being stripped naked to prying eyes, all in the guise of some "neat features".
    I don't need no "neat features". If you want web links to work the way they are supposed to work on the Mac, then allow for a right-click with a QuickLook option, but display the link in it's full length with all the "garbage" that will be transmitted to the site when the link is clicked upon, no "user friendly URL" version, that makes a link look like it were a harmless, state-free static link, while in fact it's a 900 character long monster with encoded state and personal details. One might think that's part of the PRISM program...

  • Help! How to e-mail a PDF (from Pages) with active web links!

    I have been working on this for hours without any success! I would be so grateful for a brainy Apple wiz to help me out. I am creating a Pages document that has active web links in it. My goal is to e-mail my document with the active web links in it.
    So - If I export my Pages doc as a PDF to my desktop, the links work great! However - the moment I put that PDF into an email and send it the links become inactive. Is there any way to create a Pages document with web links > Export it as a PDF > Then mail with active (clickable) links? I have tried many times without success.
    If the answer to my question is no, does anyone have a tip for where I can create a PDF and mail it with active links? Will any of the Adobe programs work for this type of thing?
    Thanks so much!!
    Kristen

    Using Pages '09 v4.2.
    I just tested this. Assumption: You have the “Windows friendly attachments” checked in the attachments panel.
    Your Pages document is open. The web links are active. You want to get it into Mail.
    From the Pages menu bar, choose Share > Send Via Mail > PDF.
    Mail will open with a compose window. Your PDF will be attached as a full view document. You see the links present in the PDF.
    Now, click near the web links. This shows your PDF in blue. Now right-button click, and choose View as Icon from the pop-up panel.
    Now mail it to yourself on another account that Mail can open.
    You will see the web links in the PDF.
    Right-button click on a link and from the pop-up menu, choose Open with Safari.
    If you chose Quick Look, it would pop open the PDF and offer to open it further in your default PDF viewer. In my case, it is Adobe Reader.
    If Reader opens this PDF from the Mail attachment, the web links remain active.
    Does this solve your issue?

  • Buiding my first web site

    Hi i'm trying to build my first web site using Dreamweaver
    MX. Could anyone please point me in the right direction

    Don't even think of using a Frameset.
    And don't think of using DW without doing a quick refresher
    on HTML (and CSS
    if you can take the time). DW will punish you if you do not
    have this under
    your belt - you will get bogged down and will fall way
    behind.
    When you are ready, start by using FILE | New > HTML >
    and select a layout
    you like (they are unadorned) but what you are looking for is
    the basic
    layout properties, not the decoration. Exercise your creative
    skills on
    these 'skeleton' pages until you have it the way you want.
    Then save it as
    a template (FILE | Save As Template...). Define editable
    regions in this
    template so that you can put unique content on each page and
    save it again
    (FILE | Save). Now you can spawn child pages from the
    template (FILE | New
    > Page from Template > template name > Create), add
    page content to the
    editable regions, and save. Pop them out like a Pez dispense,
    and you are
    done.
    BE SURE YOU BRING YOUR HTML BRAINS WITH YOU.

  • Add Non-Standard Web Link in Mac Mail

    Does anyone know how to add a non-standard web link? The add link dialog box does not like my url.
    I need to add a link like this: http://someserver100/index.html.
    It disables the "OK" button as soon as I add the "100" after "someserver".
    Prior to the Leopard upgrade I never had a problem doing this. Now it seems that Mail is trying to be too clever. Please help, this is an important business need for me to be able to send links like this.

    I didn't originally go deep into detail as not to bore, but maybe the details will make the difference.
    I am a web developer. I have a client that I vpn into to make web updates. The server that I work on is a testing / development server, not the outside world facing production server. The server is not viewable via a domain name. So I can not get to it by typing www.domainname.com. Instead, the client's IT guys have a host name set up for the server that I need to use due to some of the back end technology that serves the pages.
    The server name is "development100".
    In order for me to view pages on this server, I had to make an entry in my host file so my browser would know what ip address "development100" is associated with. That way whenever I type "http://develoment100" into my browser's url bar to proof my web work it would resolve me to the testing / development server.
    Now, once my changes are done and posted, I need to send a notification email to the IT staff that servers two purposes. First, it gives them an exact url laundry list of what files have have updated. Second, it gives them a link to click for each item that will allow them to proof that html, jpeg, etc.
    A typical item in this list would like like this: http://development100/index.html
    That link should send them directly to the index page on the server for example. I have be using this system of building the notification emails with these links for over five years and prior to upgrading to Leopard, it always worked.
    Now, if I try to "Add Link" and type "http://development100/index.html" in the dialog box. The "OK" button will become disabled as soon as I key in the first number in that link.
    If I don't "Add Link" and just key "http://development100/index.html" into the body of the email the link will cut off at the first number as well. So the link will look like this: "http://development"
    Sorry for the long explanation, but I think that it is necessary. The answer may just be that Apple is trying to verify / qualify links automatically and wont let numbers go in the link name without a .com / suffix. Thanks for the help.

  • Web link in specific menu definition

    Hi,
    I'm trying to add a web link to a specific menu. I used the se43n transaction, but It seems like there may not be a straightforward way to customize it.
    Do you have an idea on a simple solution ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Mohaned,
        There is a function module named 'HELP_START'.
    This fuction module calls web browser with particular link. e.g. when u click quick help (in help menu) then this function module is called.
    otherwise u can call function module 'CALL_BROWSER'
    with particular url. you have populate url first then pass it to FM as
      CALL FUNCTION 'CALL_BROWSER'
          EXPORTING
               url                    = url
            BROWSER_TYPE           =
            CONTEXTSTRING          =
       EXCEPTIONS
            FRONTEND_NOT_SUPPORTED = 1
            FRONTEND_ERROR         = 2
            PROG_NOT_FOUND         = 3
            NO_BATCH               = 4
            UNSPECIFIED_ERROR      = 5
            OTHERS                 = 6
    Hope this helps you.

  • Changing the icon for saved Web links.

    Im trying out different forum topics to see if anyone can help and I thought this would be a cool thing to do and might be doable with an applescript.
    I save a lot of web address as files to go back to later and I find the default @ icon for firefox or the blank icon for safari pretty appalling. I was wondering if there was a way to change the icon so that when ever I save a new link file it would use the new icon. I was thinking about just an icon that has the Firefox, safari, chrome logo would be good or even better a little picture preview of the web page its self. Any help on this little idea I have is very appreciated
    I really like the idea of a page preview for weblink files. Like this ( http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a238/Nuclearanthrax/Screenshot2010-09-02at1021 41PM.png )
    I completely understand a straight up no answer to this. I have no idea how applescript works. I have used it very few times.

    Pierre,
    I tried this AppleScript but it was not working. Is there something that I need to check.
    I had a few web link files in a folder and the script RAN the INFO window popped up but nothing changed.
    This would be a valuable tool for me an my students,
    Thanks in advance

    Just copy and paste the script into the AppleScript Editor window and click the Run button.

  • CCP Causes Web Links to Fail

    I get some pretty bizzare behavior when I run CCP.
    First, everything seems to work OK. I have it set up to run in compatibility mode in IE 10. I also use admin privileges to launch it. It seems to push things out fine. So far, it doesn't hang or anything.
    The problems are...
    While it's running, web links from other web pages and/or applications no longer function. That inculdes using the included help FAQs on the bottom of some pages, as well as links in emails received in Outlook 2013. Now the really weird part: Once I quit CCP, all those links seem to have been buffered and attempt to connect right away. (When I clicked on links multiple times -- not knowing why they weren't working -- after I quit CCP I got multiple browser tabs opened.)
    CCP seems to remove the "terminal length" when I later telnet to the box. Before running CCP: sh run pauses every so many lines; after starting CCP, neither sh run nor any other output pauses. I have to issue the terminal length 24 (or whatever) command to get it to pause again.
    Anybody else experience weird things like this when using CCP?
    UPDATE: I had been using CCP with the unsecure settings. When I went in using secure settings both of these problems disappeared. I'll leave the discussion up so that perhaps anyone else with a similar problem will know that it's an anomaly, but not unheard of...

    This appears to be a bug with the tracking in the CWGraph control.  I have submitted your example program to the R&D department.  They should evaluate this issue for the next release of Measurement Studio. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a decent work around other than not providing the option to select the Zoom function from the context menu.  I tried to specifically set the focus to the CWGraph control because I thought it may have been an issue with the focus, however this did not seem to resolve the issue.
    I appreciate you bringing this issue forward and explaining it clearly with an example.

    Dear Rave,
    Thank you for your reply.
    Yes, I tried several times and got the same results.
    Does it have anything to do with the Options/Applications used in Firefox?

    You've probably found an answer to this by now, but I think this has been addressed in another forum -- The link below suggested using a button and adding the tooltip to the button.

    Sounds like it would work but I haven't actually tried it.
