    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

  • Imovie keeps getting hung up generating thumbnails for new events.  How do I fix this?

    I imported several movies from my miniDV camera without issue.  Yesterday I tried to import another movie, only about 30 minutes long to a new event, and the "generating thumbnails for new event" has taken 12 hours and is still not complete.  I tried to force quit and reopen the program it just starts the process again upon opening.  I went online and downloaded and installed the imovie updates.... still no luck. I can't even use imovie now because when I open it it just goes back to generating thumbnails.  Any thoughts?  Im new to the Mac, and I just bought this computer 3 days ago and want to love it, but this is frustrating.

    What version of iMovie 2011.  Make sure you have installed all updates.  There has been several updates addressing stability issues.  If you have a newer system there were compatibility issues.  Hopefully this will fix your issues.  I have a new 2012 MBP 13 and works fine.  It did lockup (pinwheel) 2x and has been fine.
    After the updates running Disk Utility and repair permissions as well.  Make sure things are correctly referenced.

  • Two of our computers using the same emails won't communicate when an email has been answered, how do we fix this?

    My coworker and I answer emails in 2 shared work emails and I have access to my personal email and her's to answer work questions. Lately when she answers an email in our orders inbox, and marks it off as answered with our assigned highlight, it won't transfer the info to my computer's inbox. I'm left thinking they're still unanswered. We've been double-answering many customers which seems strange and shouldn't happen. How can we get them to communicate more efficiently again. This has only been happening the past couple of months.

    Have you followed the rest of the instructions on the TS2446 page that you posted from e.g. you've logged out of your account on your phone by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then logged back in ?

    Well, shucks, i just spent almost 30 minutes trying to find your model user guide to explain it better, I guess they never got around to making it.....
    I would just borrow another Windows disk and try installing it again and if it does it again then you might take it to an Apple Store and see if one of the "Genius' " can figure it out.
    Make sure your internet is enabled and click on your blank desktop and at the top of your screen is a Help menu option, enter PRAM and it should give you a list of things relating to Pram. It may take a few seconds to list anything as it has to connect to Apples severs first. It should list the things you may have to fill back in when your done.
    "P-ram" stores some common information that is used in the background, your date, time, startup disk, etc, that you don't have to re-fill when you restart, it's a little different for each computer.

    the user name is not the B&N username, but the name on the billing address.  And the credit card number used for the purchase is the unlock code.

    Accidental damage is not covered under Apple warranty.  And it seems there is much accidental damage.  Only a Genius Bar tech looking at it can tell how much it will cost to repair.
    Cost to repair will be high, I suspect (though Genius Bar will confirm/deny.
    There is no gentle way to say this sir/ma'am ... someone will need to pay for your friend's MBA repairs.

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTune (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTune and plug.
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTune has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTune.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note: Data will be lost

    If the problem persists, you'll probably have to make another apple id, it wont take off any games or music or apps or anything you've bought it will all stay there, i have two apple id's and i don't have a problem with anything.
