    i had the exact same problem and the solution is quite simple rather than taking suggestions like Reinstalling Itunes or something complicated like that. what you do is...
    1) Open up your Itunes
    2) Go to your apple device at the top right corner of the Itunes application on your computer
    3) Scroll to the bottom where it says "Options"
    4) Check all of the boxes.. ACCEPT for the last box that says "Manually manage music and videos"
    5) Double check that the "Manually manage music and videos" are UNCHECKED.
    6) Now retry to sync your music.
                                 HOW TO UPLOAD ALL YOUR MUSIC AT ONCE.
    1) CLICK ON YOUR SONGS TAB WHERE ALL YOUR MUSIC IS

    You need to go to MAS and purchase Lion for $29.95; the download will take considerable time because it is a very large download. I'd suggest that when the download is finished and before you install it to copy the installer to a safe place (external hard drive or another folder) so you have a copy if you need to reinstall.

  • Trouble with music folder - when trying to add music to itunes library.

    Ever since I updated itunes recently, I have been having difficulty adding music from my music file. When I go to File/Add File to Library it brings me to the default storage location, even though I have gone to Edit/Preferences/Advanced and changed my music folder to what I want to have come up when I go to add a song. My music folder has always been the same, but for some reason, it has all of a sudden decided to change to the default music folder, where my music isn't kept, and I can't seem to change it back. Is anyone having this issue as well? Please help!

    I think you missed the question that "fillibrownis" raised (btw, I am seeing the same problem and it is quite frustrating).
    The problem is that when we select File/Add File to Library, it throws up a box which displays the windows default music location (which is "My Music" on Windows XP). In previous versions, iTunes used to show the iTunes Music Location, as specified in (Edit/Preferences/Advanced/General). The benefit for such a thing was that user could directly copy music from external sources to the iTunes Music Location (without using the "Copy files to iTunes Music Folder when adding to library).

    Previous to latest changes in iTunes I have been able to delete items on my iPod by simply clicking on and deleting when prompted for action by right click.  This has become impossible and even the instructions to creat a playlist by clicking on "add to" no longer work.  I seem to be unable to delete anything unless I delete it from my iTunes library.  Anyone out there know the solution or working on the problem?  Seems to me that if the product wasn't broke Apple should not fix it.....they should stop tinkering with it, please.

  • Trying to add two AP's to the AEBS(n) - no luck - any ideas?

    Hi everyone, here's my situation. I ran a network in my house on Belkin routers (7230-4 and 2 7231-4's) for a while now. One router was the main router, the other two were Access Points to enable my TiVo's (not wireless capable by themselves) to become wireless by using USB-to-Ethernet adapters between the TiVo's and the AP's, and then the AP's "made" them wireless. I had no problems with everyone "seeing" each other on the network.
    I bought an AEBS(n) with the intention of replacing my main router, and keeping the 2 AP's as they are. I want to keep the same setup as above.
    I went in and reset one of the AP's, since I needed to change the MAC address of the main router that was needed in the setup. Plugged it back in, changed the settings on the AEBS to enable WDS, added the MAC addresses of both AP's, and I was a happy camper. Everything worked, I had access to both the AP and the TiVo, so I figured I would do the same thing on the second AP.
    I made the exact changes on the second AP, but this one doesn't work - or, a better description would be that it is incredibly slow. If I want to access the second AP (from my computer, wirelessly) or the second TiVo, I very rarely get a connection - nost of the times it tells me I can't open the page. Not only that, but it slows down my accessing the first AP or TiVo. If I unplug the second AP, everything goes back to normal, zooming along.
    My question is: is there a problem with the AEBS handling more than 1 AP on WDS? I can't believe the problem would be the second AP, since it's setup exactly like the first one. They should all "play" together nicely, and yet they don't. If I look at the logs on the AEBS, it looks like it constantly connects and disconnects with the AP's - like every 6-10 seconds there's an entry undoing the previous one (connect - disconnect - connect - disconnect etc). Is there another setting that I should make to enable more than one AP, or to let them be connected to the main station for more than a few seconds?
    Also, how can I see what computers are connected to the AEBS at one time by IP? It seems like it shows some by MAC address, but I can't really see an updated list on the DHCP screen (I turn off my computer, and it's still being shown in the list).
    A third question is (last one, I promise) why does the AEBS asign IP addresses all over the place? I would expect it to start with 2 and move on from there, but it assigns them like 2, then 200, then 3, then 199 - and that's a problem since my TiVo's are supposed to be 200 and 199, and it doesn't seem to release these IP's even after the computers to which they were assigned are turned off.
    Any help on the above would be highly appreciated.

    Update: I just made sure that the AP's go through the main router (AEBS) and do not talk to each other directly (which is what they were trying to). I managed to restrict access to them so that only that AEBS (and the other computers through the AEBS, not directly) talks to them. After this everything was smooth sailing.

    Because the location for each song in your library is on your hard drive.  If the hard drive isn't there, how can iTunes play it?
    You'll have to move/copy the music from your hard drive to your computer's hard drive.
    Basically, EASIEST way to do all this, if you don't care about your play counts, etc...
    -Delete EVERYTHING from iTunes, so that your library is now empty.
    -Go to "Advanced" inside of the "Preferences" window, found in the "Edit" drop-down.  You can also access Preferences by pressing Ctrl+, (Press Ctrl and the comma key)
    -Change your iTunes Media Folder Location to something simple, but on your computer. I use C:/iTunes.  Make sure "Keep iTunes Media Folder Organized" and "Copy files to...." are both checked.  You can close Preferences now.
    -Now, drag and drop your music from your hard drive into your iTunes library.  iTunes will automatically add the music to your library, as you would expect, and also creates a copy of each file to place into that iTunes Media Folder you just created.
    Shouldn't have any more problems...

    My husband and I are using the same iTunes account on all mac & pc computers, but the libraries are different on each machine.  We always manually manage our music (no auto sync).  iTunes is up to date on the PCs.  My husband uses our joint iTunes account on his pc, but once again, has a different collection in his library from those on the other machines.  He can't load any music from his PC to his iphone 4.  I can load music from my mac library to my iphone 4s, but cannot load from my pc library to my iphone 4s.  How can I switch my main library that it syncs with from the mac to the pc?

    Each Apple ID has it's own library in iTunes.  If you tried to sync his music to your device, then it will not only wipe your information on your phone, but can affect your sons.  Make sure you are logged into iTunes with your Apple ID and restore your device from a previous backup.

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    This works for some users. Not sure why.
    Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

    I have tried everything I have read on the Internet about sync issues and restore etc and not there isn't a single song on my iPad or iPod touch. All of the songs are listed in my iTunes but are all greyed out, some have the cloud symbol next to them but lots don't and some say waiting.
    Long and short is nothing will save to my devices at all.....HELP !!!!!!!?

    Though it refers to items purchased from the iTunes Store, it applies to all your iTunes content. And if you happen to also own an iPod:
    How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer
    Once you have the tracks on some removable medium, you can mount that on your new computer and then just drag the content to the iTunes window. Make sure that the option to "copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" is set in the iTunes -> Advanced -> General preferences before you do. Alternatively, you can use the Add To Library command and select each track (or folder of tracks).
    If you won't be using that Windows system once you move the content, don't forget to deauthorize the system from your iTunes Store account before you dispose of the computer.
