Trying to create recovery disk but keeps crashing?

Hi,
New laptop - Pavilion Notebook 15-n299ea, just switched on and trying to create USB recovery.
My flash drive is 32GB. ....prepare disk (fine), copy image (fine), verify disk - gets to 38% and then crashes and asks me to try again. Have tried 5 times and keep getting same.
Help, any ideas please?

Perhaps you could try another USB or using DVDs instead, or download the lastest version of USB Reovery creator.

You can order Recovery Media from your support page HERE Usually around $20.
Or,you can try creating them from a command prompt.Though a bit tricky if you aren't familiar with typing in commands. HERE

Error while trying to Create Recovery Disks - Lenovo 300 N200

Hi,
when trying to make Recovery Disks the program starts to extract files but after a few minutes i get this error:
"An Internal error has caused this process to fail"
when running lenovo system update i got an error:
"An error occurred while gathering user information."
i tried to update the "lenovo system update" but i'm getting errors while uninstall the previous version and also when installing the new one. After i tried to update, the "system update" is no longer loading, i'm getting a windows error and it's closing.
btw, i have vista with SP1.
does anyone have an idea ?

Created recovery disks but they dont work

hi i have created recovery media for my CQ56-250SA they created fine after the verification of each disk but upon using them i get an error loading the recovery manager.
the Reason i did this is because my hdd is now showing bad sectors, this is odd as it stays on a solid surface and doesnt get moved. i was going to try and use another hdd and recover using these discs
the hdd i was going to use is a WD scorpio blue 160gb
is the hdd at fault or is it the media creator program not corretly splitting the image so it can boot.
will hp send me another hdd free of charge as my laptop is still under warranty acording to the date in the bios
please help

i have put another hdd in the laptop booted via the recovery discs i created but now i get an error saying that windows failed to load as a required resource is inaccessible, how the hell can a set of recovery discs fail to boot and recover the system back to a useable state.
i did a clone of the original disk as a backup just in case so i still have the recovery partition.
i'm stuck now

I m trying to create recovery disk from recovery drive which is created by hp while purchasing the laptop, while taking back up from recovery manager, Recovery Manager says (Recovery Partition has been removed - Recovery Media creation option is no longer available) , but as per my knowledge i did not took back up of recovery drive. So what should i do to take back up of my recovery drive to **bleep**.

Based on what you have stated, it appears that you or someone else with access to your notebook deleted the recovery partition. Without the recovery partition on the hard disk you can't make recovery media.
Your best option at this point would be to purchase a recovery disk set from HP or an HP Partner.

I have Leovo G530 35U 3000 series laptop. When I tried to create recovery disk by clicking "Create Product Recovery media" , a new window for creation appear. But the check box for "product recovey disk you are going to creae are for this conmuer use only" and ok button get diactivated.
Is there ny other option to create prouct recovery disk?
Can anyone help me?

How to create recovery disks for Lenovo H530s with WIndows 8.1

I like to create recovery disks, but the already installed program OneKey Recovery does not have the option of recovery disks, it allows only larger media such as USB stick and hard disks.
Here to I have 2 questions:
1. Is there a way to create a recovery disks that will create the original factory settings with 5 partitions?
2. Does any one knows if the recovery siskd sold by Lenovo (for Netherlands they cost between 23 and 38 Euro) would do the job by creating the factory settings with 5 partitions?
My goal is to reformat the hard disk and aprtitionig it the way I need it, but in case of anything, I would like to be able to go back to the original facttory state of the unit, especially if I have a harddisk failure and neer to replace the hard didks.

You run Windows in Parallels or Fusion. Then in Windows you install the program.

When installing a new OSX, it is not unusual that some applications will not work. You have to check with the developer to see if they have upgraded to the new OSX or find a substitute application.
In regards to your new HDD, most of the time they come formatted for Windows, not Mac. Connect the HDD to your MBP and open Disk Utility>Erase. To make it compatible, select 'Mac OS Extended (Journaled)' as the format. Click on the Erase button. You then should be able to read and write to it.

I do not know what specifically might have caused your problem. But this is what I do when the Mail app misbehaves.
Quit the Mail app like I describe below and then reset your iPhone.
Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. I hope this helps.

i am facing problem to upgrade my macbook pro 15 inch 10.6.3 to os x lion 10. 7 with recovery drive.
actually i m trying to install os x lion with the following method but could not install. i use 2 methods to install os please help me where im doing mistake.
1st method.
i make a recovery drive with recovery disk assistant on macbook air 13 inch which is shipped with lion 10.7 . and i connect my recovery drive with macbook pro 15 inch on which OS is snow leopard 10.6.3, for upgrade/install OS X lion on my macbook pro 15 inch by recovery drive.
when i hold down option key i can see my recovery drive . i can boot through my recovery drive but when i try to install os x lion the computer says
"you cant upgrade this version of mac os x "
2nd method
i made recovery drive on macbook pro 13 inch which is upgraded snow leopard to lion and then i try to upgrade my macbook pro 15 inch then the same problem i am facing

Thinkpad W530: Questions about creating recovery disk

Hi there.
My machine is thinkpad W530. Recently I had several problems with it so, I decided to recovery the system to the factory setting. However, it didn't work when the OS restarted and entered to Rescue and Recvery screen. I did follow the lenovo official instruction but I got a eorror happened, it said "recovery failed" and the recovery process was stucked.
In addition, I tried to create a recovery disk and it failed, too. The lenovo said I could have only one recovery disk but I don't rember I had created a disk before. I checked the doucments in driver Q:\factoryrecovery, I also didn't find the "service done_ini".
Anyone knows pls help me and your assistance is really apprecated.

I’m sorry to hear that you are facing the issue with OS on ThinkPad W530.
As you have done all the troubleshooting steps to perform system restore and you are not able to complete the process because of error.
This kind of issue occurs when you have done changes in the HDD partition before creating the recovery disc. Hence the system factory restore option will not work.
Since you have mentioned that the recovery media has not created for the machine, the only option is visiting the nearby authorized service center for the further assistance.

HT4848 Error creating recovery disk in Disk Assist

I've carefully followed all instruction in this post: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4848, but I am having an error when creating the recovery disk.
The recovery Disk Assist starts creating it, but stops early on. The message I get is titled "Conclusion," and it says "The recovery drive wasn't created. There was an error creating recovery disk."
Can anyone help me with this? I followed all the steps in the post above and I also created the partition on the external drive.
I really need to wipe out my computer and make it appear "as new" because I am selling it. Any help would be great!

Same happened to me. This makes absolutely no sense, but I just kept trying and trying then it finally worked. For me, it hasn't been worth the bother. These restore DVDs don't work like the ones I made for an Acer laptop, for example. On my Acer, I repartitioned, reformatted my drive and was easily able to restore my computer before I sold it. I've been going nuts trying to restore my computer after a clean install of Windows 7. Still can't get it to work.
