Trying to extrude my logo in AE from a vector file made in AI but AE reads it as transparent.

Cant figure out what I am doing wrong. Trying to extrude my logo in AE from a vector outline in AI. I watched tutorials on how to do both. My logo imports fine into AE and then I right click on it and choose "create shapes from vector layer". It then shows all the correct outlines forming my logo but all but a very few outlines are transparent therefore AE will only extrude the few that are filled in with a color. I select the individual groups and it show that they are filled and are at 100% opacity but they are not. There is nothing there to extrude. I've tried changing options in AI and saving it different ways with no difference in the way AE reads it. Is my LOGO just too complicated?

We can't know. We don't know what it looks like. From open paths to things like too many anchor points to unfavorable nesting of compound shapes there could be any number of reasons why it doesn't work. And you have not provided any system or version information to boot.

I am trying to create a print ready PDF from a word file with unacceptable results.
The word file has a trim size of 6” x 9”. It has been set to mirror margins with the inner, top and bottom margins set to 0.75”, the outer margin is set to 0.5” and the gutter to 0.14”.
It doesn’t matter if I create the PDF from inside Word, or open Acrobat Pro 11.0.9 and click Create From File, while the resulting document size is correct and the odd numbered pages reflect the correct margins, the even numbered pages do not. This results in some text near the outer margin, as well as the page numbers being omitted.
Does anyone know how to correct this?
I just noticed that some of the odd numbered pages' text is also cropped. Apparently Acrobat is refusing to set side margins to smaller than 1" (@ 3cm).

I'm away from my printer, so I'll try it later. Even so, the proposed test is irrelevant. I operate a small publishing house and am trying to upload certain novels to Ingram, the largest book distributor in the world. The specifications I've set are the specifications they've asked for. Since they've said that the results I'm obtaining are unacceptable, and since they demand submission in PDF form, this renders Acrobat Pro for Mac completely unacceptable for anyone in the publication industry. As far as I can tell, Adobe has a serious bug here that it needs to fix—and at once.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Separating an image from a vector file in illustrator

I cannot figure out how to separate a graphic from a a vector file I purchased on Shutter Stock which has a bunch of graphics in the file used for design. The file has layers, and I have tried to select just one of the layers to copy and paste into a new AI file, but it doesn't work. Nothing seems to be grouped together, and I have no idea how to tell if there is a compound path or not.
I need to separate all the images and then resize them as well. Then I want to export to a jpeg file so that I can use in photoshop and/or publisher.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been looking online for help for days, and I cannot find anything that will help me.

HT4847 I'm trying to delete (my stolen) iPhone 4s from my iCloud back up listing. But when i try although both the stolen and my new phone are listed if i try to delete the old one it comes up with a message 'cannot delete backup at this time'

When i try to delete my stolen 4s from the icloud back u list i get a message saying 'ths cannot be deleted at this time' . This is taking up 2.2gb of space. How can i delete the device? I have unregistered the device and sent a remote wipe message to the phone.

I did get rid of a few after I set the iphone to not show music which was in the cloud but I still have 2 albums that won't go away. Any more suggestions? Thanks for your help.

NT 4.0, LabVIEW 6, Error 4 (END OF FILE) when trying to seek to byte offset 4096 (from start of file) when the file is larger than 2 Gig

If I try to seek (or read) with the position mode wired and set for START, I get error 4 (END OF FILE) if the file is larger than 2 GB. I'm only trying to move the file pointer 4096 bytes, not trying to seek or read more than 2GB, but I get the error if the file is over 2Gig.
Instead, I have to do reads, with the position mode unwired, until I get to the place in the file that I want to be.
Is this expected behavior?

LabVIEW File I/O functions use an I32 value to store the size of a file. This means that we are limited to ~2GB file sizes when using the File I/O functions in LabVIEW. This explains why you are seeing odd behavior when trying to read to the end of the file, since this is causing the byte count to exceed ~2GB.
I hope this explanation sheds some light on the situation for you. Hopefully the workaround (repeated reads) is not too much of an inconvenience.

I am trying to restore bookmarks to Version 5 from a backup I made from Version 4.+. I get an error message "Unable to process backup file." What's wrong?

I made a backup of my bookmarks when I was running Firefox Version 4+ (stored in a "json" file on a thumb drive). My primary hard disk crashed and when I down loaded Firefox on to a new hard drive, I got version 5.0. When I tried to restore the saved bookmarks, I got an error message that says "Unable to process backup file."

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

XMP from camera raw files: ACR SDK yes – but where from?

the XMP docs state:
"… you should not pass a raw-format file directly to XMP Toolkit file handlers (XMPFiles), but should use the Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) SDK instead."

ACR has little to do with getting your images into your computer; it's involved with opening your raw files (using development parameters you choose) into Photoshop to edit them, or to convert them to other formats.
Regarding Photoshop Elements integration with reading card images as part of your workflow, this isn't the best place to ask, as this forum is dedicated to the full version of Photoshop, which expects the user to control more of the low level operations himself/herself. Hey Peter, if I wan to move several page that part of Auto Flow text, I checked the "delete page after moving" but the content still there, not deleted.

How to recover data from .bkf files made when os was XP Proffesional into the system when it is windows7

Previously I was using Microsoft Wndows XP Professional,with version: 5.1.2600 Service Pack 3 Build 2600.
I took .bkf files by using the Backup utility (i.e. Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools and then click Backup)
And paste it to my external hard disk.
Then I used OS :Microsoft Windows 7 Professional(Version 6.1.7600 Build 7600).I formated my system deleted all the partitions and created new partions and installed Windows 7.
Now I have the .bfk files in my external hard disk and I want to recover my data from that .bfk files made from xp-sp3 pc to windows 7.
Plz help me.....
I downloaded Windows NT Backup - Restore Utility and tried to install NtBackupRestore_x86.msi .But it will not installed in Windows 7 with a message that this requires Removable Storage Management. Since RSM is not included in Windows 7 how does
one access old Backups from Windows XP?

Ouch! Your extra data is probably coming from the <br>s. the 'b' and 'r' are being Base-64 decoded and producing extraneous bytes. I'm not sure why you have the <br> in there, but try removing it an see what happens. Good luck.

Anyone know why TV shows are not importing back into iTunes from my backup file?

My whole library was backed up on an external hard drive. Something happened to my library on iTouch and everything was gone except for most recent purchases. Also had new computer so downloaded iTunes again and went to import from my backup files. Music imported but most movies, music videos, and all TV shows did not. Also tried dragging files from backup folder to iTunes to copy but still did not work. Anyone know how to fix this??

iTunes: What are the iTunes library files?
If your backup/restore includes the library files then information that isn't stored in tags, such as playlists & playlist membership, ratings, play counts etc. is preserved. Video Kind (Movie/TV Show/Music Video) is a property that isn't always stored in the tag. If you had restored the whole library (database files & media) then there would have been no need to import anything as you would have restored the database complete with all its information about your media.

Importing data from tab delimited file

Hi everyone,
This is my first question on here so I hope I am doing the right thing.
I've searched online as much as I can to find an answer or a way to fix my problem but I have not been able to find a resolution.
My issue is I'm trying to import name and contact information from a excel file, that I have saved as a tab delimited file, into a fillable PDF file. I'm able select the text file through the import option and it shows the correct information as different rows that I can import but when I select one and click on to finish the import of the data I get an error message advising that some of the text could not be imported. The issue is nothing is being imported at all.
I've made sure that all the relevant fields are the same name as what the form has but still cannot get anything to import.
Does anyone have any ideas why this may not be working? Also I basically have no ability to write JavaScript to import the information otherwise I would look at travelling down that path.
Please let me know if I need to be any more specific.

Calling an external C function from a C file in JNI

Hello,
I am trying to call an external C function, from a C file which is being called by a Java file. I am getting an unresolved symbol error. I have tried many things like, making the external C function in the format of JNI, etc, etc. It is still not working. I think it has something to do with linking the two C files. If anyone can please answer this, it would greatly help me. here is the code:

If anyone knows how to solve this, or how to call external C functions from a C file that is being called from a Java file using JNI, please respond.

Hi,
In your post on velocity review, you did not compile MyOldHello.c. You compiled a C file that included the header file for it and called a method defined in the header. The linker is never going to be able to find the code for this if you do not include the object file for this.
Try this. You will also have to add in any JNI libraries you need to link against but I am sure you could work that out.

I can't seem to save a high resolution jpg. from a raw file?

I am trying to save a large resolution jpg. from a raw file. When I save as at the highest level its only saving the image at around 2mb ?

I am trying to upload a file to print on canvas in raw my photo is 30mb but when i try and save it thru photoshop as a jpg. Its so compressed the site wont even except it because the resolution is to low?
