Trying to figure out how to make font arch around a circle on pages
i just downloaded pages and am trying to figure out how to arch my font in a half circle, around a sun. frustrated, totally new to the mac world, help, any tips on how to optimize the features on my new lovely comp?! thanks
In Pages it isn't easy as it doesn't have any feature to do it.

Trying to figure out how to make a countdown timer...
Okay, so I finished my Java class for the semester (I got an A) =) and I'm trying to learn to make a countdown timer in my spare time. I just want something that I can add the date and time of what I'm counting down to into it and then just a simple GUI that sits on my desktop counting away. Of course the problem is I've never used time before in any of my assignments and so I'm really not sure how any of it should work. Anyone know any tutorials or methods/classes that could help me with something like this?
ThanksI made something similar to that, it counts down in either seconds/minutes/hours/days to a specific date. I ended up doing a Google search and found a useful class called DateUtil that someone had written. It was very useful for doing all the nasty Calendar work and that kind of thing.
Besides that, the GUI should be really easy, especially if you have already done a semester of Java. I used an uneditable TextField.
Anyhow, I can put up some more detail if you need it, just ask. -
Trying to figure out how to get font sizes in textfield to show up right
This is a flash question it just gets a little complicated.
Running into a cross platform problem.
I have a microsoft .NET application that I created to draw graphics. I put the properties of the drawn object into a database.
I then read the properties into flash and dynamically build the objects that were drawn in microsoft.net with actionscript.
The problem I'm running into is I'm using the Microsoft gdi+ model to draw text in my development environment with a specific font size in points.
When I translate that over into flash, my runtime environment the font size appears smaller.
Note:
I'm using a textfield object and setting the htmltext property to create the text. Then I'm using the bitmapdata object to convert
the textfield into a bitmap. I do this for a couple of reasons.
I can get the fonts to match closely If I multiply the font size of the textfield by 1.50.
For example
var fontsize:number = DatabaseFontsize * 1.50;
this gets my fontsize close for the textfield.
However with certain fonts this does not work. Any help would be appreciated
Am I posting this in the wrong place??I'm having very similar issues to LarryET above. I followed the directions from TominqueBo_VZW, but I could uninstall the updates only. Even uninstalling those and reinstalling them, I have no improvement. My greatest issue is the lack of pictures from the contacts. Some show, others don't with no discernable common thread.

I am trying to enter a hotel password for internet access. The password is all lower case, but the 1st letter I type is always upper case and I can't figure out how to make it lower case. Help?
The digital keyboard on the iPad uses an "Up Arrow" as a symbol to represent its shift key(s). If it's highlighted, then the next letter typed will be upper-case. Just tap on the Arrow symbol and it should be unhighlighted. Now if you type any letter, it will be lower-case.

Try assigning Queen as the Album Artist on the compilations in iTunes on your computer.

I cannot figure out how to make the text larger in a received email. The finger method doesn't work and I can find no tool bar as I can for composing emails. I can find nothing in settings. Please help and thank you in advance.

Download a piece of software called TinkerTool - that might just solve your problem. I have used it myself to change the system fonts on my iMac. It is software and not an app.

I accidentally bought the HD version of a movie for my daughter's nano. you can't watch HD on a nano. So I'm trying to figure out how to re-download the SD version. This help screen makes it seem like you can just correct the problem and just "download" the lower version. But when I follow the steps, I basically get to where I'm just having to actually purchase the other version. Do I have to pay to get the lower quality version after I've already paid for the HD version?
When you purchase an HD movie or show, in most cases the SD copy can be downloaded from your purchases area in iTunes. On the main iTunes Store page, go to Purchases under the Quick Links and then select Movies or TV shows as appropraite. Click the "Not On This Computer" button. Uncheck the "Download HD when available" box and you should then see the SD copies of the movies/shows and be able to download them.
Note that with digital copies from a Blu-Ray or DVD, if it comes with an HD copy, you normally cannot get the SD copy as well and have to purchase it separately if you want it.

I have been writing on - Pages- app for several years. Pages automatically uses double space between paragraphs. I can not figure out how to make single space between paragraphs. Tried everything. Please help!

Trying to figure out how to spin a shape like a top...

I'm trying to figure out how to spin a shape like a top on one axis starting fast and slowing to a stop.
It would be nice if the stop was eased in and not sudden.
I can make the shape spin, but I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out how to change the speed of the rotation over time.
I must be trying to control it in the wrong spot because the add keyframe is not enabled.... anyway, I'm obviously not doing it the right way.
Suggestions please!

I was, as usual, over thinking the solution. I thought I had to do something else... which I'm not going to try to describe but it involved linking the rotation of my shape to the orbit of Jupiter...
Your method is much simpler.
It took a while to figure out how to draw the curve to get what I was hoping for but it worked.

I am trying to figure out how to save/share only a clip out of an entire project. I do not want to delete the rest of the timeline as I want to cut/copy out several smaller clips and save/share them as their own files. I am working on a copy of my original video, and I know I can just bring the project timeline down repeatedly to isolate this clip by deleting all else, but feel there must surely be a simple way to do this.

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?

You would place the gray tabs of the WorkArea Bar to span just the area to be exported.
The tabs are set...
Move the Timeline Indicator to the start of the segment, hold down the Alt key of the computer main keyboard as you hit the left bracket key [
then
Move the Timeline Indicator to the end of the segment, hold down the Alt key of the computer main keyboard as you hit the right bracket key ]
The critical step is to make sure that you have a check mark next to the "Share Work Area Bar Only" option in the export dialog (if the dialog has that option).
Please review and remember that the answers are in the details.

Trying to figure out how to change the tuning of certain notes so I can play notes in between pitches for example the middle note between B & C or E & F. I can use different tracks if needed but I would prefer to know how to do it for individual notes as well. They have to be exactly in the middle so it's not out of tune.

The theme to Doctor Who is in 12/8. In music theory, there's no such thing as a 12th note, the notation and nomenclature is all based on things being divisible by four. So for the diddly-dum feel to happen, you have to give the beat to a quarter note plus another eighth note -- we call it a dotted quarter note, and now you have three eighth notes per beat so you can go diddly. So, since you can't call the time signature 12/dotted quarter, you call it 12/8 and go faster. Make sense? Anyway, for GB's purposes, all you need to know is that you'll get that feel by choosing 12/8. -
I am trying to figure out how I can transfer my library to my new 2014 honda accord that has an internal 16gb hard drive. The manual for the car says that it needs to be original CD's but I have purchased alot of the albums/songs I have from I tunes therefore not having the original CD. Can someone help me with this as I dont want to load each CD into the player to record and have some albums that I purchased off of I tunes that I would like to be on the hard drive.

I am trying to figure out how to merge my AD network account.
I am trying to figure out how to merge my AD network account with my Mac account. The main reason for this is wanting to log into my admin account on the Mac, and have it also log into my network account so I do not have to log into differing accounts depending on wether I am on the network or not. And I am going to be running VMware fusion with windows on top, so having one account would be essential to this.

Can't figure out how to make "sub-tabs" / Too many "top-tabs" / Other ?
First of all, the website that I am webmaster for is: www.cindydennis.org .
I am having some problems:
1) There are TOO MANY tabs at the top. I can't figure out how to make sub-headings on one page...
For example, I'd like on the "About CDM" page, tabs that can be clicked on to go to other information tabs, but that don't end up appearing on the top (e.g.: having "Remarks" and "What We Believe" tabs go there, but not appear at the top).
Another example, if you look at the home screen, I'd like to have the link to the "Privacy Policy" and Terms of Service" pages on the bottom, but not have them appear as tabs in the top, too.
How do I do this, please? I've searched, and can't figure out/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png
2) How do I add "Copyright 2011" automatically? I saw in the Rapidweaver trial version, it automatically adds it when you publish... is there a way to tell this program to do this? Or do I need to type that in on each page? (I don't want to purchase RW... I'm not ready for that yet.)

CindeeCindee ~ One way to do the copyright notice is to use a Text Clipping — Select (highlight) the copyright text you want to use and drag it to the Desktop. If necessary, change the name of the Clipping icon so that it's more easily identifiable on the Desktop. Then, when you need it in iWeb, simply drag the Clipping icon from the Desktop to iWeb's main canvas.
