Trying to fix iphone 4, stuck on rebooting

i got a broken iphone (nothing too obvious) that my friend gave me and been trying to fix it for a bit, now it isnt broken as it been mashed to the ground, really it looks like it is plain new and the hardware inside doesn't have any obvious damage of what i have seen. Now i been trying to reboot it and it comes up with the apple logo, then the bar but it keep getting stuck on that.
Just wondering if there is a way to know what could be causing this? Because really the phone doesnt seem to have gotten damage nor the hardware inside it

Had it been jailbroken before?  Even though it looks fine outside, was it ever exposed to water (thinking internal damage, which might not have altered external appearance at all)?
If it will not even restore, it sounds like a door stop to me at this point.

  • Iphone 3GS stuck on reboot

    Hi,
Can someone help me fix my iPhone 3GS.  I'm not sure what the problem is.  It blacked out, and not responding (frozen).
So the first thing I did was to plugged it to AC outlet and charged it, but It keeps restarting (Boot up to apple logo).  So the second thing is pressed power + home for 10 seconds (reboot and got stock in i think is recovery mode)
Third, using a PC, trying to restore thru iTunes but same thing keeps restarting even iTunes can detect it.
Enter DFU and try to restore, receiving error 16XX, and the phone is still the same keeping the restart of apple logo.
I'm using iTunes on Win7 64bit OS and I'm not IPhone guru but I think its stuck in recovery of protection for any possible restore.  I can still go to emergency calls and see the original wallpaper.  No signal even the original working SIM is used.  I believe that IOS 5.1 is capable of Firmware Over the Air, that's what I think.
My iPhone is out of warranty from my Carrier, Globe Telecom PH.
    Here's the pics.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah been trying that since 7:30 but nothing happens. It's stuck in reboot / reset mode until battery runs out then I plug it in (on charge by plug) and it was ok until I unplugged it and it lost all my numbers and then went back in that mode. Tried plugging it in again when the battery ran out and it stayed in reboot / reset mode the same as what it's been like. And it's now 19:50 here now.

  • Iphone 5 stuck in reboot

just tried to download IOS 7.1 and now my iphone has gone into reboot mode I have tried all the relevant stat tips but nothing any ideas

My phone was doing something similiar because I am trying to fix a problem with the charging.  What would happen is it would go to the sleep screen and then auto-reboot every time.  I just did a regular restart Holding the power button at top and using slider and turned it back on and it fixed that issue for me as it has not happened again.  However, I am still having the battery charging issue at least how its reading on my screen is not the correct percentage.  If you have already tried the above then not sure

  • How to fix iPhone 2 stuck in restore reboot

I did a erase all data with my iPhone 2, and now is stuck in the proses of rebooting.
    Please help.

If you want to try again. Restart computer, open iTunes on computer, connect iPhone to computer with USB Cable. Hold both Home and Power buttons until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Usually takes about 20 seconds of holding both buttons. Click Restore button of iTunes.

  • HT201263 iPhone 4 stuck in reboot and will not restore from iTunes

My iPhone 4 started having a severe battery drain. Today when it went dead, I charged it and received a message to plug it into iTunes to restore. I'm not stuck in a reboot loop and keep getting errors in iTunes such as 1602 and 2001 when I try to restore it. Any suggestions?

Disable the security software on the computer temporarily.
Connect the device and update it.

  • My iphone is stuck in reboot

After my iPhone hung itself up randomly i rebooted it with pressing the sleep and the home butten. Screen goes black, the silver apple comes and then it seems as if it is stuck in the reboot-modus. I can reboot it as often as I like even after 20 minuts nothing changes.
    What can I do?

    Greetings -
I have the same problem. It began without notice. My phone remains in a constant reboot - unless - it is plugged into the dock or charger. I have restored the phone 3 times on itunes - I have removed all personal data ( music, photos, etc.). Is there something else I can try?
    AAA.

  • After installing ios 5 my iphone is stuck in reboot with a spinning circle

after installing ios 5 on my iphone 3gs last night it won't reboot. It shows the apple logo then just shows a white ring in the middle and it won't move like it normally does. I have put it in recovery mode, but still does the same thing. I have synced it with my mac but it says that itunes can't sync to it.

  • Corrupted, tried usual fixes but get stuck

Okay, so last night I did my usual thing: plugged the Nano into the computer to give it an update, refresh my podcasts, etc. A message comes up saying my iPod could not be identified and needed to be unplugged then plugged in again. So, I do. Now it tells me the iPod is corrupted and needs to be recovered. So, it starts the "preparing iPod for recovery" thing. The little green bar moves to almost the end, then disappears. A message comes up saying "iTunes needs to prepare your iPod for recovery. Please leave your iPod connected.
Except that it never had been disconnected.
    Still, I try again.
    And again.
And again. This time using a newer cable.
    Same thing.
So, it try the usuals, toggle Hold, Menu+centre button. Now I get a "Use iTunes to Restore" screen. So, I plug it in again and hit "restore" when it asks me to. Now it downloads an update and supposedly applies it, then tells me that the iPod will appear on my screen when it's ready.
    Except it doesn't.
Green bar comes up telling me it's preparing iPod for recovery again.
And we get stuck in the same loop as before. "...Please leave your iPod connected."
Left it on overnight, charged it this morning, same deal.
So...any other ideas? Or is it time to send it in?

    Well, that's weird.
Never got around to reformatting, because on a hunch I decided to try uninstalling iTunes before I did, then just plain starting fresh.
Once I'd restarted my computer (I've tried this multiple times since the problem started, so I doubt it was the restart itself) after uninstalling iTunes, I held menu+centre button again before connecting it to my computer, because everytime I've tried to connect without doing this first (since the problem started) has resulted in...well, nothing. This time, I plugged it in, and suddenly it showed me the select language screen, like nothing had ever happened except a reset to factory settings.
All I can say is "***??"
But at least I have my iPod back...for now (+eyes it suspiciously+)
So, now I'll try dowloading iTunes again. Hopefully it all still works after that.

  • When should I stop trying to fix iPhone5?

    Hello
Turns out my jacket isn't waterpoof.
Left iPhone for about 36 hours in rice and plugged into mains. Started to boot and received a text message. As the screen was still watery, I unplugged it and left for a further 48 hours. Plugged into mains, it booted up and screen was still watery. Left again for 24 hours.
iPhone now stuck in reboot loop when plugged into mains - only a few seconds of Apple logo. Tried leaving it plugged in for 24+ hours, still rebooting. Tried holding power and home and message appeared plug into iTunes. Plugged it in and nothing. Tried holding down power and home when plugged into computer, but nothing at all.
It's 20 days since it got wet and I've Googled and YouTube lots, but to no avail.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in Advance

Between being still wet, and energized multiple times, it almost certainly has suffered permanent damage from shorting circuits.  I would just get a replacement at this point and be done with it.
As mentioned, either an AppleCare+ accidental damage claim, if you can do so, or pay the out of warranty replacement for a like new service unit.

  • My iphone 4S wont allow me to restore a bckup of icloud it has just rebooted the os and for over 24 hours i have been trying to fix it i use this phone for my job so i need help

My iphone 4S wont allow me to restore a bckup of icloud it has just rebooted the os and for over 24 hours i have been trying to fix it i use this phone for my job so i need help. when i try to restore it says "Your iphone could not be activated becuase the activation server is unavailable, If the problom presests goto apple.com/support"   It has done this for 27 hours now PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

    - Connect the iPod to the computer and see if iTunes sees it. If it sees it try to get the photos off the iPod.
    - Next let the battery fully drain. It will likely take days. After charging for at least an hour try again
    - Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

Sounds like a 'stuck' Shift key. You could try to take the key off and put it back on yourself (should be some info on that from ifixit) or just take it to your local Apple Store and have them fix it.

  • I tried updating my iphone 4s to the ios 7 but it said error with the firmware now my phone is stuck in recovery mode and i have no idea how to fix it any suggestions??

i tried updating my iphone 4s to the ios 7 but it said error with the firmware now my phone is stuck in recovery mode and i have no idea how to fix it any suggestions??

Try Restoring it 3 times in a row and see if that works.
If not that error can indicate one of two things: Your iPhone was at one time jailbroken, had the iOS version rolled back, or ran an unauthorized beta and if none of those things are true it is a hardware error.

hi, I was about to reset my iphone3g when I accidentally selected erase all contents and setting. It was stucked with the iphone logo, so i tried to fix it by restoring all my datas in iTunes. I was able to successfully fix it but when I inserted my sim card it says that simcard not recognized. I tried all the solutions in the net but nothing seemed to work. What should I do? I'm located here in the Philippines. I hope you could help. Thanks!

I know. I was with my brother when we did this. He didnt clearly understood the question that poped-up. Regarding the simcard, after successfully restoring it on itunes my simcard won't work. I'm not able to send and receive calls and messages.
