Trying to load a downloaded version of illustrator 6cs onto new mac and the old activation code for my illustrator cs doesn't work with it. Do I need a new code or am I missing something? Same goes for my Photoshop cs.

You need to contact Adobe Support either by chat or via phone when you have serial number and activation issues.

My dad put a new mac in and the old Mac had my photos on it, and I checked iPhoto after it the new computer was plugged in and there was no photos in it, and my dad said that they should be in there but they aren't, so is there a way to get my photos onto the new Mac without the old one and without an external or flash drive? Because a lot of my photos I don't have on my camera because the memory card was full and the pictures that I had already had been on the old mac....

the basic answer to moving photos is Connect the two Macs together (network, firewire target mode, etc) or use an external hard drive formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old Mac to the pictures folder of the new Mac - launch iPhoto on the new mac and it will open the library and convert it as needed and you will be ready move forward. but you say you do not have the old computer

Recntly got a new Mac and the music/apps prevsly purchased wt my apple id are not showin up on my new device.
I have auth the new mac & gone thru all the recommended steps.
The purchases do show under purchase histry in my acc info but not under Purchases in the iStore.
I did chnge the country setting recently so not sure if there is any issue that the songs/apps were purchased when registered in another country but this really shouldn't make a differenceContact iTunes

Welcome to the Apple community.
You cannot download a backup from iCloud, the only way to access it is to restore to the backup with your new phone, which you should have done when you first connected it. If you restore now, you will lose all the new information you have added to your new phone. -
when updated to 9.1.7 from 9. I need new serial and the old serial number doesn't work. How can i solve this?
There was no new serial needed to update from Logic 9 to 9.1.7
If your Logic 9 was an upgrade from Logic 8 it may be asking you for your original Logic 8 Full serial first and then your Logic 9 Upgrade serial...
Otherwise, it's best to call Apple directly and get them to help you... -

I am currently trying to load Snow Leopard onto my laptop, I have the 10.4.11 system, but the process is stuck on 41 minutes remaing and has been for about half an hour, so nothing is budging! Please help, I am too scared to stop it as the guy in the shop said "whatever you do just let it run its course!" Thank you, Kate
Boot from your bootable backup drive - restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager appears. Select the icon for your external drive then click on the downward pointing arrow button.
After the computer starts up do the following:
Drive Preparation
1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. After DU loads select your internal hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area. If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing. SMART info will not be reported on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
Leave DU open and do the following:
Clone using Restore Option of Disk Utility
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the internal drive. Source means the external drive.
This will restore your old system so you can continue using the computer.
An alternative to the above is that after formatting the internal drive restart from the Snow Leopard DVD and install Snow Leopard on the freshly formatted internal drive. You can then restore your Home folder and other applications through the Setup Assistant which will provide an option to restore your files from another Mac or hard drive. -
Just tried to connect my I-Pad to my new I-mac and the I-Pad starts flashing with trust this computer, but it is too fast to catch and on the computer it says cannot connect to this I-phone....Computer then freezes and i have to do a force close...

Buying a new mac and syncing old ipad.
Here goes.
So I want to buy a new Mac, and sync by old iPad with it.
Normally when you do this you get a message saying by syncing this iPad you will erase all your data.
But I am using time machine to back up my Mac, so if when i get my new Mac and plug in my time capsule, will my itune libary be the same on the new mac?
And in turn when i plug in my old iPad with the new Mac will it just sync like normal without erasing all data and needing to start again?

=]Yeah. Plug it in using a wire or do it wirelessly... The set up options has a "restore from Time Machine" option. It should be pain free. Might take you awhile, especially if you restore wirelessly. You should have everything restored: files, settings, etc. For me personally, I backup everything on my external hard drive and I just drag and drop everything manually instead of using the Time Machine user interface. Both way works and achieves the same end result. I don't recommend my way unless you are really familiar with Macs and knows where files are.

Question about a new Mac and my old iTunes apps and music
I just purchased a new Macbook Pro to replace my old Windows laptop. I'm planning on de-authorizing my old laptop and wiping it. How do I ensure that I won't lose any apps I've purchased for my iPhone, and any Music I've purchased from iTunes?
Thanks!There is a "Music" folder in Finder. Put "iTunes" and its whole folder structure in "Music". So it will look like:
Music
.....iTunes
........itunes Music (folder)
........iTunes Library (file)
........iTunes Music Library.xml (file)
The first time you launch iTunes it will probably want to rebuild the library. When it finishes you must Authorize the new Mac in the iTunes store. Click on iTunes Store, then got to Store/Authorize Computer in the iTunes menu. -
I recently got a new iMac and did the set up THEN I took it to the store to have my backup data loaded onto my new iMac from my old crashed iMac. Now I have 2 login accounts on my new iMac. The old one has my iTunes and iPhoto libraries and my new login is empty. Is it possible to move the libraries and the other data to my new login and delete the old one?
I've done something a little different but have the same problem, sort of. I had been with AT&T for years and had iphones but I switched to VZ wireless quite a while back and got a droid. I just switched back and got the iphone 4S and was downloading apps from the phone having forgot I already had an iTunes account so I created another one.
After doing the above (which I'm not sure where to even start) is it possible to get all of the songs from my old account loaded onto my new phone (I haven't even attempted it yet because I don't know where to start)? -
Can't insert a CD/DVD into the disc drive. Recently installed a new 1 tb hard drive, and the CD/DVD drive hardware is no longer recognized. Also, with new hard drive, OS was updated from Snow Leopard to Mt. Lion 10.8.5 on late 2007 MBP (2.2 GHZ Intel Core 2 Duo. 4 GB 667 MHZ DDR2 SDRAM)
Also, when I check out the hardware list, under Disc Burning - the following is reported: No disc burning device was found. If the device is external, make sure it’s connected and turned on.
The disc drive worked fine prior to the HD upgrade and OS update to Mt. Lion. -
How to get iTunes TV shows to a new mac without the old Mac
Hi,
so recently my old (only 1,5 years old!!!!) MacBook died.
It was all very sad and inconvenient for a poor pennyless Student!
Now I got a beautiful new (well refurbished) MacBookPro (for which I will be paying longer than I will study)
and I tried to get my iTunes going.
Fortunately I got a lovely IPad 2 from which all my music got immediately synchronised onto my MacBookPro,
unfortunately I did not keep my TV shows (SherlockBBC!!!) on the Pad,
and now I have no idea where to get those files.
Seeing as my old Mac is no longer accessible there must be another way to get the movies and apps that I didn't keep
on my mobile devices. They can't be lost can they?

So, I tried your link, and that support page is for getting the purchased items onto your pad,
which I of course tried, that would get me one step closer,
but obviously I must be in one of those backward countries that doesn't allow so much
(link 2 doesn't work for me so I can't check) but my purchased file only shows music and
won't give me the option of tv shows...germany *****
and would that change if i took my computer to another country and got a new apple id?
(am i asking illegal stuff???)
is there another way for the cloud/store to computer synchronisation?
maybe the series was in cloud, my last cd backup is a bit old, and my tv shows
might have been uploaded in my first cloud try out (didn't get very far in becoming acquainted with that one to be honest, but i did good once i think)
