Trying to PREVIEW generates error

I can preview any of the 4 slideshows I created off the MENU. If I try to PREVIEW from the DISK IMAGE or MENU...blows up (not out of Encore...just out of trying to preview) WITH:
internal software error: / Scrumpy/Main/XcodeProjects/
AuthorCore/../..Sonic/DVDCreator/FormatLib/Vobulator/BlockPlanner/BlockPlanner.cpp, line 217
I have no idea what I did or how to correct. PLEASE TELL ME I DON'T HAVE TO START ALL OVER!!!!

Are you able to reproduce the issue consistantly with the project. Can you please ask your coworker to publish a blank project and see its working fine or not?. In case if the issue is project specific, then can you please send the .cptx file to us so that we can investigate the issue at our end. Now that's what I like: nice descriptive error messages
Does this always happen or just on one particular project? How is the Zip build configured? This looks an awful lot like a debugging dialog that a developer put in the code to try and catch something obscure and then forgot to take it out.

Getting "layer break" error message when trying to Preview a single sided DVD, or build an ISO image or disk folder

Hi! Hoping someone might be able to help with an odd problem. I haven't found anything in the forums or the web that match my symptoms.
I've been using Encore CS6 (v6.0.1.013) on a MacBook retina over the past year to successfully create a number of single sided DVDs with menus, chapters, and all that. I usually make a copy of a previous DVD project, and then replace video assets with the new files and transcodes, move and rename chapter markers, and rework the menus in Photoshop. I then will build ISO images for both DVD and Blu-Ray (both single-sided), and use those to burn many copies of each DVD for clients.
This week, while developing one of these projects, when trying to build a DVD ISO image that looked like it would fit on a 4.7 GB DVD, I received the "layer break" message ("The chosen layer break does not satisfy dual layer requirements. To fix this, either set a new layer break manually, or choose to set layer break automatically.") because (I'm guessing) the material was too long for the 4.7 GB DVD (the Build screen now shows about 5GB of material are in the project). This is the first time I've seen that message - usually Encore just tells me the material is too big for the DVD.
I re-transcoded the material down to well under 4.7 GB (about 3.9 GB), reverted and replaced the transcoded files, and now the DVD build screen shows that there are about 700MB free on a 4.7 GB DVD. But I still have not been able to build any version of the DVD (image, folder, disc), without getting the "layer break" message. I also now get this same layer break message when trying to "Preview from Here" any menu, killing my ability to preview the DVD menus in Encore.
Just to see what would happen, I chose an 8.4GB Dual Layer DVD, and chose "manual" instead of "automatic" for the layer break selection, but never got the layer break selection dialog box, just the "layer break" error message.
I typically build both DVD and Blu-Ray images from the same material in the same project. I use different transcoding settings for each, and I have been able to build a Blu-Ray ISO without this "layer break" error on the Blu-Ray build (which is about 24.5GB when built). And as I mentioned before, this is the first project on which I've even seen this layer break message.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I'd rather not recreate the project from scratch, but I'm worried that I may have to.

The total project being small enough may mean you have one layer that is too big. Both layers have to be smaller than half the disk, right?
Be sure you "run as administrator" for dual layer projects.
Encore may set the layer break correctly if it finds a good place, but there are numerous complaints about it being unreliable.
Build to a folder (no layer break is set), then use ImgBurn to build and ask to be prompted for layer break. ImgBurn is also unreliable under some circumstances.
The most frequent problems appear to be when there is no good location for a break. Do a search for "layer break imgburn" and you will see a variety of strategies.

Error while trying to preview app in portal

Hi-I am trying to "preview" my application in the portal, and I get the following error:

Error when trying to Preview in CP7

A coworker is getting the following error when trying to preview a project in CP7. This project does not have any advanced actions but does have one system variable for slide number ($$cpinfoCurrentSlide$$) in a text box that runs for the project.
Here is the error message he is receiving.
Swf compilation failed.
Note: Please verify if any of the actionscript keywords is used as user variable name.

Error when trying to preview screen in screen file

A few of us are receiving an error when trying to 'preview' a screen via screen file in rulebase. A large error window pops up with about 30 lines of text in it. The window is 'Preview in Web Determinations'. It starts with:
class com.oracle.determinations.interview. engine.exceptions.CorruptSessionException: A unauthorised change to the Rule Session has been detected.
further down in error there are multiple lines starting org.apache.catalina ......
Has anyone seen this error, it's intermittent, not all screens, but once it's appeared for a particular screen, it won't stop (for that particular screen), even after re-boots etc.
Does anyone know how to fix it?

I have faced this type of scenario and it will happen if we are in interview screen for long time with (inactive mode) and when we try to "Preview". You can try being at interview screen (some time inactive) and you can reproduce this type of Error.

Portal Runtime Error when trying to preview an iView

Hi,
you can use the SOAP Log viewer in the EP perspective you can find this icon at the bottom right image with specs click this trace fiel will open in the browser.
In opened file search the defaulttrace file with the smallest size and go for filter with the value 1 for the current day. and search based on the error id.
Or....
if you have administrator id/pwd then type:-
http://<servername>:<port>/irj/nwa
in that you can find moniter->log file....
in this use can search based on the error id.

Error when i trying to Preview Data in some database (Essbase 11.1.2.2)

I made Rapid Deployment of essbase as described in this article(but i chose Oracle Database 11g EE)

There were no errors in installation and Diagnostics. I started EAS, connected to essbase server, saw all default applications, but when i was trying to preview data it was an error:

What is it?

The best solution I have found so far is to stop the application and delete or rename all .ind, .pag, .esm and .tct files for the troubled database and restart the application.
It will create these files from scratch and you can load your data.
Note: Please take the necessary backup before trying..

Why the Fatal Error when trying to preview or edit audio in Cp 8?

I installed Cp 8 last week. (Been using Cp 3 for years, finally made the leap). Made a presentation on Cp 8 just fine -- everything worked wonderfully. Preview ... audio edits ... everything was fine.
This week I'm working on another presentation and suddenly the program goes into a fatal error EVERY TIME I try to preview it.
So --- I continued creating my presentation without previewing anything, and then recorded audio for the project. But when I went to edit the audio, BAM - another fatal error.
This is not good. :-)
Anyone else have this problem? Any known solutions?

I downloaded the program last week with the help of Adobe Tech support, because the program would not install. An error kept appearing saying it was missing a file. Spent 7 hours on Christmas Eve working with tech support in New Delhi, 1.5 hours of which was on the phone with the tech support having remote control of my computer. We finally figured out that AVG was preventing the install, so we deactivated AVG and then the program installed just fine.
As I said, I've been using Cp 3 for YEARS, so I'm familiar with what Cp is capable of doing. I created a project two days after Christmas and everything worked just find. Was able to preview anytime I wanted, and had no problem editing my audio.
Then without making any other changes to my computer's configuration, two days ago I was working on another presentation and went to preview the slide. The program reached 58% and then gave a fatal error, forcing shutdown. I thought I might be a hiccup, so I closed everything down and rebooted the computer, but still the same problem every time I tried to preview. I had half a dozen attempts, and each time a fatal error, always at the place where it says 58% complete (for the preview).
So --- I went ahead and completed the slide layouts without previewing anything, and figured I would add the audio, edit it, and publish the presentation. I recorded the audio (my voice) just fine, but when I tried to edit it (audio > edit > project), the system experienced a fatal error, again at the 58% mark of preparation.
My presentations are saved and backed up ... I've been thinking that I need to uninstall / reinstall the program, but after spending 7 hours doing that on Christmas Eve, I was hoping there might be an alternative solution.

Go to the folder with you Lightroom Catalog (usually in Pictures) and delete the folder ending in .lrpreviews
This contains the previews for the files Lightroom has linked to. They will need to be rebuilt which can be done while working or selecting an amount you want to rebuild and accessing the rebuild command in the Library Dropdown menu...

Preview in Browser and HTML5 generates error notepad output

Whenever I try to preview a project in either a browser of HTML5, it only opens up Notepad and displays the following error: "The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect." This is a new installation of Captivate 8 and the machine is running windows 8.1

i did step 1 and 2 above. Relaunched and created a new simulation. Same result; notepad and error.
My default browser is Chrome.
I published it, and then at the prompt I chose to view it. It opened Notepad with the following:

After that, I went to the actual file and chose to open with Chrome. It ran fine. So, it seems that the problem is tied to trying to preview / view from Captivate itself. It keeps opening Notepad instead of the browser.

Preview mode keeps generating error message...

Since I updated to version 3.0 and above, I cannot preview any page. All I get is that dreaded message that Muse could not make a http connection and that I probably should change my firewall settings. As far as I know though, Muse has all the permissions it needs. So, I turned my firewall completely off and the message keeps popping up.
When I try to preview in a browser, I get a blank page which states that the url is incorrect.
I am clueless in which direction to look for a solution and are leaning towards designating this as a bug, but I am still not sure. Maybe I am overlooking something simple...
Any ideas, hints, comments would be appreciated.
Using a Win7-64 machine with a Creative Cloud subscription...

What is the duration of the work area that you're trying to preview?
Regarding your other issue, the green bar represents how much of your comp has been cached in RAM. The RAM Preview will only playback in realtime what has been cached.
Check out the help files for more info on RAM Previews.

Why do I no longer get previews generated when importing with LR 3.4.1?

Problem: This week while Importing a batch of 900+ photos they all show up in the Library as gray boxes (no previews). I can still see previews of all my previously imported photos and the new ones are visible normally when viewing them with other programs (e.g., Canon Zoombrowser, My Pictures).
Also, when I close LR3 and select the Backup option I get the error 'Lightroom encountered an error when trying to read its preview cache and needs to quit - Lightroom will attempt to fix this problem next time it launches'. After clicking on OK for the error pop-up window LR3 freezes up and does not close, it just spins with Lightroom (Not Responding) on the top of the window.
Environment: Windows Vista Home Premium, Lightroom 3.4.1, photos are Canon raw CR2 format from 40D and 7D DSLRs. The Catalog is on a 2 TB external USB drive tethered to my Lenova Thinkpad laptop.
I have over 40,000 photos in my catalog, most from the same cameras, and I REALLY don't want to start over or have to regenerate that many previews.
Tried importing using both Copy and Copy as DNG with the same result - no previews in Library.
Tried importing them from the memory card via a USB card reader and via a USB memory stick after moving them from the memory card to a different laptop - same result.
Tried manually selecting a few photos and rendering new standard previews, LR3 starts the rendering per the status box in the upper left corner, but no progress toward generating a preview is made while in Library mode. It just sits there.
I can see the photos in Develop mode when I select one to view AND, it seems to stay there when I move back to Library.
But, when I attempt to close LR3 (with the above error/crash) and restart it, the previews generated in Develop mode are gone.
Is there a relatively simple solution for this? I had not run into this while using prior levels of LR3.

I changed the profile to an earlier one I had created using Spyder 3 and the problem went away. The previews appeared. Thanks.. I'll try to generate a new profile tomorrow, but not sure that's related. I've seen similar issues with previews on a Macbook Pro, which has a totally different profile. I don't know the underpinnings of LR to that degree, but in my case, simply moving to the page of images in Library almost instantly changes the gray version of the thumbnail to a "picture".

I have an issue in Bid output.When I tried to preview output for the bid invitation, I am getting error Business Partner Does not Exist.I checked the data maintained for the bidder which looks fine.Which business partner it could be referring to?
Any clue as initial analysis sugegst SF_BID_DATA-BIDDER_CONTACT-PARTNER_ID coming empty
