Trying to rent a movie
Not sure if it's my internet connection, I doubt it, however ,the itunes connection drops when I try to rent a movie on the IPad 4 latest IOS? I don't have a problem with purchasing app's or watching my favorite TV networks. Anyone suggestions would be great?
Hello Jasontag,
I would recommend reaching out to the iTunes Store support with this article.
How to report an issue with your iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBookstore purchase
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1933
To report an issue with your iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBookstore purchase, follow these steps:
Find the email receipt for your purchase.
Click Report a Problem under the app that is having the issue.
When prompted, enter the Apple ID and password you used to purchase the item, then click Report a Problem.
Click Report a Problem next to the item you are having an issue with.
From the Choose Problem dropdown menu, choose the appropriate issue.
Follow the onscreen instructions and—if prompted—type a description of the problem into the text field.
Click Submit to have your issue reviewed.
Regards,
Sterling

trying to rent a movie on apple tv for the first time and have to authorize my computer but can't find the itunes menu that allows me to do this. any thoughts out there?
If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

I have tried to rent a movie in iTunes twice in the last few hours. First I was browsing then tried to rent and was told my session had timed out. I closed iTunes and went directly to rent the specific movie and still the same response, session timed out. I completely logged out of iTunes, tried again 5 hours later, still the same timed out response. I have successfully rented, downloaded movies and watched them previously. Any similiar issues for anyone lately? Any ideas why this is happening?

We are trying to rent a movie and it keeps prompting us to verify payment info and we have done this
we are trying to rent a movie and it keeps prompting us to verify payment info and we have done this
I kept having this problem, reset my iTunes password, verified account information several times, all with the same (bad) result. Finally, I actually went into the "Edit" section of my credit card and found that because I tried to access my account via another computer or device, i.e. Apple TV, I had to reenter my 3 digit credit card security code. That fixed the problem for me.

Has anyone else had their screen stuck on "processing" forever, after trying to rent a movie?
About the only thing you can try is using the Online Internet Recovery system to reinstall Lion on your Mac over the top of the current install. that will reset all system files and should not touch your personal files or the apps you have installed.
Or iof you have a recent Time Machine backup use that to restore your Mac to that point in time. -
when trying to rent a movie on my new apple tv, a message comes up: "itunes unable to process purchases at this time. Try again later" Is this usual or is something going wrong?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you use the Apple TV for something else or turn it off it will erase whatever is on it's drive. If you are going to download content for later viewing you might consider doing it on the computer, downloads don't disappear until they expire and you can watch them as many times as you want. -
When trying to rent a movie from Apple TV, I'm asked to verify my payment method. I don't have a credit card but I do have over $100 dollars in iTunes store credit. How do I get passed this in order to be able to rent movies again?
so i dont understand why i wouldnt be able to purchase the $14.99 movie (unless there's tax or something, but i dont think so?)
Yes, there is tax. -
I am trying to rent a movie on iTunes. It keeps telling me that I need to connect to wifi or download on a computer. I am connected. What is the issue? This is maddening!
If you are using a Windows based computer, try disabling anti virus software and turn off the Firewall.

Then try downloading iTunes media. -
trying to rent a movie and error message pops up saying "item cannot be downloaded on this network. You must connect to wi-fi or download it on your computer". I just finished downloading a rental but I get this message when attempting another. Any help much appreciated
You might want to try it again. It started working for me about 10 minutes ago (~8pm CST).
This was happening for rentals and purchases. -
Hi I am Del
I am trying to rent a movie on my Apple tv keep getting the message - verification required before you can make purchases you must go to the itunes store on your computer and verify your payment information
ThanksHave you paired your Apple Tv with your iTunes account? That's how rentals and purchases are billed. If, however, you have already done that it is possible that there is a glitch in the system. I've had that happen occasionally and it usually goes away if I reset Apple Tv. On one occasion that I didn't work so I had to go to iTunes and deauthorize and then authorize this computer. Also, check to see if your Home Sharing is on (under File in iTunes). Hope that helps.

I'm trying to rent a movie but when I pres rent it shuts off does this mean I have no room left on my iPad
If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) on your account then the steps half-way down this page will give you a reset link on your account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 link above to add a rescue email address for potential future use -
hi i have the 1st gen apple tv and suddenly when trying to rent a movie i don't see the rental interface. i did a factory restore and now i see movie trailors and my movies but not rental option. any idea what could be wrong??
Judging by all the posts on the forum, there seems to be an issue at Apple's end, although they have made no announcement on their status page. Some users have reported that Apple is aware of the issue. You can leave feedback for Apple at the link below.

I tried to rent a movie (Mean Girls) to watch with my daughter this evening. It was downloading really slow. After about 45 minutes it had only downloaded about 5%. my daughter gave up and went to bed. Can I return this and get my money back? I was trying to download it on Apple TV, but it wouldn't work, so I purchased the rental from my I pad. It would have taken hours to download at that rate. Usually I have no problem.
