Trying to restore adobe acrobat 8 professional for the mac version 8.3.1

Is there a specific site for this product?  I was directed to the Acrobat XI Pro site, but my serial number will not work for that product.  Any suggestions?

Mikem if you were able to get Acrobat 8 to install in Mac OS 10.8.5 then it is likely the only functionality you would have would be the ability to edit PDF files.
I am sorry but I don't know of any method for you to get an additional copy of the installation files.  If you do have your software registered you can qualify for the upgrade pricing for Acrobat 11 Professional.  You can find more details at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html?promoid=JOLIR.  You can also find a free 30 day trial if you have a PDF you need to edit at the moment and you wish to evaluate the software.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard for the Mac?

Okay, I apologize for what may appear to be a frightfully stupid question, but is there an Acrobat 9 Standard for the Macintosh? There appears to be support files and such for Adobe 9 Pro for the Mac available, but whenever I search for the Adobe 9 Standard, all I can seem to come up with is the Windows version...?
If not, and if for some unknown reason, they aren't updating the two version numbers in sync with each other, what's the most recent version of Acrobat Standard for the Mac? Or will I be stuck with 9 Pro as my only option, and end up having to pay for the additional features I don't need?

Honestly, if you are creating a PDF, say in a Business setting, to go on a website. Except when it specifically meant to go to a Printer. Do you need the Print Press Stuff??
More bang for the Buck would create a Version For Print press industry.
Then Have then the pro version have the PDF forms Creation stuff that available in PC only now.
The feature set that was in Acrobat 5 is a much better fit. If someone need Print Press features sell it as a $50.00-100.00 add-on.
There are some features related to Print press I never have used. But I got them because I needed forms creation for the Web.

  • Issues with Adobe Acrobat, leopard, Office for the Mac 2008

since I upgraded to leopard, it's been a nightmare. Office 2008 for Mac won't print Word or Excel documents, Adobe Acrobat 8 won't convert docx. files to PDFs and now has corrupted some existing PDFs. Anyone have similar problems and any answers out there yet?
Yearning for the simplicity of Windows.

No. All that works fine for me. Running 10.5.2 and Adobe Acrobat and Office 2008 all work perfectly well.
Your problem likely stems from upgrading over an already corrupted system. My suggestion is to reinstall from scratch (Erase and Install.)

  • I tried to uninstall Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional big mistake.

I tried to uninstall Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional that came on my computer Windows Vista. I did this because every time I wanted to view a document a screen pops up saying I have to buy it. I do not wish to purchase this. I now get an error 1310.  I tried to install the Adobe Reader and it stops with a major problem notice. Says to reinstall. I do not wish to purchase this. I have even blocked all Adobe from the start up menu.

Can you check out the solutions discussed on this thread and let me know if they helped?

I am using acrobat Pro 9 for the Mac OS. I recently created a form and sent it to several individual. They filled the form out with acrobat reader and said that they were unable to save the information, therefor unable to send it back to me. What can I do to address this problem?

You didn't forget to Advanced menu and set Reader Rights.Once you do that then, they can save and send back to you.

  • ADOBE ELEMENTS 4 BOOK for the Mac???

My new MacBook Pro came with Elements 4, but I cannot find a book anywhere written for the new version. Even Scott Kelby is not planning to do a version 4 for Mac, saying that I should be able to use most of his Windows book.
Does anyone know of a version 4 Elements book for the Mac?
    Thanks.

It is a program you pay for...I do not know of any trial software but you could check.
They do have a windows tryout.

  • Adobe Acrobat 3D for the mac?

I've been looking at the Adobe Software and expect to be picking up some suite that includes Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign in order to do "posterboard" workflow along with some vector editing.
Does anyone know if there is a Adobe Acrobat 3D capability for the mac? This software shows as being available for Windows and since I do a lot of 3D work I'd really like to be able to find out what is available for 3D file extensibility on the mac.
    TIA

    Thanks Tom.
    Regards and thanks as always.
I have started to take a look in the Acrobat forums. Thanks. I realize some of this is sort of non-topic to the forums but I couldn't find a good place to post some of them. I find the Adobe suite of software a little confusing and they are not really great at letting you know when you have mac vs. windows info on the site.
My understanding is that "Acrobat3D" (to be honest I am not sure I have even found the right web page on the Adobe site for this) allows me to embed 3D data in a pdf in a manner that will let me rotate it around in real time. There was also some functionality that automatically "exploded" a 3D file into parts in a sort of engineering type drawing. File formats vary but I imagine there is some restriction on which kinds of files it can work with.
Anyway, I have started to think that there is a plugin to one of the Adobe Acrobat softwares that allows for 3D embedding and I was hoping to thrash around on the forums a bit to see if there are any alternatives or even a bona fide product from Adobe that will work on the mac.
I run windows on the mac so I can buy the windows version but ideally it would sit in the same folder with my other mac applications if at all possible. I know there is not a lot on the forums for this kind of thing but again I was just hoping to kind of get the question out there and see if I can get some hard info and advice on it.
    Thank you as always.

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 professional Mac will not upgrade from 8.1.5 to 11.0.9

    Hi:
I have Adobe Acrobat 8 professional for Mac version 8.1.5 trying to upgrade to 11.0.9 but when I download the update it fails to grab the application. Although its visible, to advise to install the update it will not allow me to click on update. I am using a MacMini running on
    Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

From AA 8, you have to purchase the full AA XI. There is no upgrade for products before AA 9. You should not have been able to purchase XI from Adobe as an upgrade with only 8 as the prior product.

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional - will not uninstall

I tried to install this program with Windows 7, 64-bit numerous times and it would not work 100%.  I even downloaded the "patch" file for windows 7, but the program would freeze every single time I opened it.  I have since reverted back to just using Adobe reader, but CANNOT uninstall Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional.  The uninstall completely freezes about 60-65% of the way through, and I just end up closing it down.  However, I cannot install any new software on my computer because the installer application keeps saying that another program is being installed (Adobe) when in actuallity it is NOT!
Pleeease provide any help as to how I can uninstall this program.  The program is still listed when I got to the control panel and uninstall a program.  I have tried Modify, Repair, & Remove all unsuccessfully.  I have deleted all files from the C: drive except the "Resource" folder, which I keep getting Folder Access Denied and that I "require permission from SYSTEM to make changes to this folder."  Well, I am the administrator and the ONLY user on my computer, so I don't know what that is all about.  I am beyond frustration with this, the microsoft forum told me to check here for assistance.

    Hi meanwire,
    I had a similar problem .
Here is the solution that worled for me. try it out:
    1. Install Acrobat 8.0  (which i think you have already done)
    2. Now go to the following link and download Acrobat 8.1 update
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3662
    3. Apply the downloaded 8.1 update manually
    4. Once the manual update is successful launch Acrobat and do Acrobat menu Help ->Check for updates
    Hope it works for you!!

  • Does Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional support image which has been converted to a PDF to be edited?

    Hi,
Does Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional support the content of an image which has been converted to a PDF file to be edited?
Sometimes when I try to edit the content of a PDF file which was created by converting an image into a PDF file, I notice that Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional tells me that this Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional cannot support this content.
On the other hand, even if Adobe Acrobat professional could edit a PDF file, I notice that there are far too many restrictions to edit the content, for example, if your new editing words are more than the old then the line goes out the page instead of going to a new line. In addition, if you reached to the end of a line, and then you press 'Enter' to let the rest of words of the last line be written  on the next line, you notice that the words  writes on the words of  line which follows the line which is being edited. As a result, the text would be quite crazy.
Any comments would be highly appreciated
    Thanks a lot,

    Thanks very much,
Sometimes when I try to edit the content of PDF files which were created by converting an image into a PDF file, I notice that that Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional tells me that tells me that this content cannot be supported
Even in the case of files created from word processing files, I notice that there are far too many restrictions in editing the content. For example, if you insert extra words or characters, the text does not automatically word-wrap. In addition, the "Enter key" does not work properly to insert a new line at the expected position. As a result, the text is quite crazy.
