trying to update adobe flash player on firefox and it keeps saying "Quit Firefox" but I did.

Do you have a MAC or Windows ?
For Windows, you can launch Windows Task Manager and go to Processes Tab, kill "Firefox.exe"
For MAC, you can launch Activity Monitor and Force Quit "Firefox"
Thanks,
Vikram
