Trying to update aperature 1.1

I've had aperature 1.1 for about a week, and had some questions and found this forum. It made mention of two updates to 1.1: 1.1.1 and 1.1.2. When I try to update the updater says aperature 1.1 isn't installed. When I run aperature and check the about aperature it says i have 1.1
This is very frustrating.
Is it possible it is already updated and the update isn't properly reflected in the about info box? Automatic updates is turned on for the computer.
The application is in a subfolder of the applications folder. (I moved it into a graphics application folder to help minimize the clutter in the applications folder.

The sub-folder could be the issue - I had the same probelm when I installed Aperture to an external drive.
Try copying / moving the App to the Applications folder, and see if that fixes the issue.
A number of Apple apps only look in the Applications folder for installed item (iPhoto springs to mind)

I am trying to update the iPhone for my grandmother, Judy, as I am leaving for Paris on Wednesday night and we want to have Facetime installed on her iPhone before then, so we can stay in contact with each other. I am unable to open raw files taken on my Canon Rebel T1i in my version of Photoshop CS3. When I import raw files into Bridge they come up as patches with CR2 on them and when clicked on, a notice comes up stating that Photoshop does not recognize these files. I tried to update my Adobe Camera Raw by downloading version 4.6 from the Adobe Website, but when I clicked on the plus-in, I got another message that Photoshop does not recognize this file. I spoke with a representative from Canon who said that I could not update CS3 and that I should subscribe to the Cloud. I would prefer to use my CS3, if possible. Can anyone advise me what to do?

Trying to update iphone 3GS. I use it only for apps and music. It will not allow me to update through itunes? What do I do?

I have a iphone I do not use as a phone anymore. I use the apps and the music on it though. I downloaded itunes and I am trying to update the phone so I can purchase music and apps for it. When I plug it to the computer it starts syncing and runs a good 20 minutes and then I get an error saying it cannot update and it takes me to a update repair page that does nothing to help. Can someone help me on what to do? I have my own itunes account, I have wi-fi, I have all the songs on my phone I purchased but I cant get it to sync with itunes at all. I can do nothing. Is this usual? Can I do something so I can still use the phone as a Ipod putting new stuff on it or am I stuck with all the old stuff and I can never add anything on it? HELP

From my experience, the only way you're gonna get a PC afflicted with this disease to work with a 5th gen nano is to roll back to an earlier version of iTunes. Those affected have been exhausted by this ongoing issue. To update or not to update? And I always say never update unless you have to, and turn off all that auto update mess!
I have two core2duo lappies running 32b vista. My workflow dictates 32b fyi. One is acer aspire running itunes v 11.1 (.0.126), 5th gen nano was originally formatted and works just fine on this machine to this day. My other is the bigger badder lenovo thinkpad and the 5th gen will NOT mount using any version of itunes past 11.0 (.1.12) Windows mounts it just fine. itunes is not having it. no shirt no shoes no service.
I have both a 4th and 5th gen nano. The 4th gen works great on both machines, I even successfully tested it with the latest version (11.1.5) before subsequent deletion on the thinkpad! Weird huh? I think my next experiment might be to restore my 5th gen w/ a Mac and theeeeen plug it into PC itunez.
I'm at a loss on the thinkpad. Scanned for intruders. Cut the Lenovo bloat. Executed system and reg maintenance. Took down msconfig to a safe mode + itunes level to attempt to resolve possible sw conflicts but to no avail. NO NO NO. Every single dang port, every time on the thinkpad. Has me feeling like others might get the same treatment by the next itunes update. :|
So in summary for me:
5th gen nano and thinkpad are a NoGo on 11.1^ last working version for me = 11.0.1
5th gen nano is working on an acer aspire 11.1.0 but no way in the world am I updating
4th gen nano is kicking 5th gen nano's @zz so what would make me want to buy a new ipod?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

I want to know if I can backup my Ipad to an external harddrive. I have a pc with xp pro media edition and a partitioned hard drive with very little space on C and lots on D. I am trying to update my Ipad to 5.1.1 and it says it needs 12 gb to backup.

I have a Sony Vaio desktop PC with a partitioned hard drive, running Windows XP Pro. There is 13 gb on C drive with the OS, and 140 gb left on D drive. I am trying to update my Original Ipad from 4.3.4 to 5.1.1 and because C drive is full ( I have moved everything that can be moved to D drive) mostly from Microsoft updates over the years, I am unable to do the backup Itunes is telling me I have to do to update or lose all media on this iPad. 12.67 gb is required to do the backup and I have a whopping 965.2 MB. I can not get the cloud to use as backup as it requires 5.0 or better. Does anyone know if I can back up to D drive, and if so how? Also, I have a 1 terrabyte WD mini external hard drive I just got as a gift...could I do the backup to it and, again, if so, how? Please explain from start to finish, as my brain is now fried from, first from finally getting Itunes updated to 10.6 ,and now trying to do this update. Thanks to anyone for their help!!

HT201210 I tried to update my Iphone 4S & was sent an error message telling me to restore my phone & did so & now my phone is unable to be used because it will not complete the restoring process & is locked in this screen not letting me use it at all.

I was trying to update my software to on my phone and it would not let me do so sending me a message to restore my phone before I can complete an update so I did this but it would not complete the restore and was sent another message stating that my phone is already in recovery mode and a restore needs to be completed before I can update any software. Trying to update OS to fix White Screen problem.

Hello, I have had my Blackberry 8520 on a Virgin contract for about a year and a half now. Recently it has started randomly just changing to a black white screen that won't allow me to turn it off or perform any functions. The way I temporarily fix this is to plug it into the charger which acts like a reboot and brings it back to normal (pulling the battery to reboot it just restores the white screen after loading). In trying to find the resolve to this problem, which I haven't yet, I rang the Virgin helpline who told me to update my OS. I currently have the version 5.0 Bundle 1096 and I am trying to update it to the 5.0 Bundle 1168. I have been having increasing problems with trying to do this. I updated my desktop software for Blackberry but updating through this software always brings up the message at the install stage (after backing up my data) - "An error has occured while downloading software for your device. Please verify your internet connection or try again later, if the problem persists." My internet is working fine and I have tried many times to update through this way. I have also tried updating through the blackberry website "web based updates area" that brings up the same message. Looking through over message boards, I tried the attempt at updating through the LOADER.EXE way. However after trying to download the OS manually to my computer, which my internet explorer thought was dangerous, it came up after with another error message - "Error 1335. The cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error from reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package.' I am now out of ways to try and update my Blackberry and have no idea how to solve the white screen problem. Any help would be much appreciated. Karen x

Just to specify the final type of the updating I tried was following the instructions on this links - http://us.blackberry.com/support/apps-and-software/desktop-and-device-download-sites.html I choose Europe, Virgin Media, Blackberry curve 8520. I got the software on to my computer and the error message that came up, appeared after choosing language and agreeing to the terms and conditions and starting the installation. Sorry about the big clump of writing; the post removed all of my paragraphs when I posted it. New to this! And need help! Thanks x

Update failed. Windows - Creative Suite 5 Premium. Trying to update Camera Raw.

My apologies if I'm not following the correct protocol on this forum. It's my first time here.
I'm a novice with Photoshop and the Creative Suite, and until now I have only used its basic features.
However, I tried to upload a RAW format image today, only to learn that program won't accept it.
I tried to update the Camera Raw plug-in, but it doesn't want to install.
I tried updating the whole suite using the "Help" and Update menus.
It downloads the appropriate updates for my version, and apparently begins to install them.
However, after the install bar reached 60-70 percent, it stops and says installation failed.
It is properly registered product - the serial number is in My Account.
Can anyone suggest a fix for me please?

however, you may not be able to update cs5 sufficiently to use your camera (which is?). you can then use the dng converter.

Trying to update my N8 to "Anna" is driving me mad...

i have been trying to update my N8 for the last 6 hours... it won't update using ovi suite...
i;m having to use "Nokia Software Updater 3"
it took 9 hours for the programme to download the files.. and now it wont install them.
it works for a short period.. then i get a pop up message saying my phoen is no longer being detencted and to unplug, switch off, then switch the phone back on, then plug it in again and click ok... and then less than a minute later it says the same thing...
if that doesnt happen my phone (which is fully charged) switches itself off with no notice, no noise no lights.. nothing...
what the hell am i meant to do to get it to work...
im already to worked up, frustrated and tense that it has me in tears...
i need help with this before i start pulling my hair out.

1. Yes i am in the UK ... Nokia N8 on o2(UK)
2. i had no problem downloading the last (fair enough minor) update in march using my PC with the same ISP and security settings....
3. i have already updated, uninstalled, and reinstalled all the drivers, NSU and ovi Suite...
4. i tried your uninstall everything and use your ccclean program... and still nothing...
5. i even tried your stupid and risky "turn off the firewall and anti visrus protection" idea.. and still nothing
so while i respect your opinion... and your experiece - what with you being a "mobile guru"
i can safely say its F*** all to do with my PC, Security or ISP set up...
and having already restored my phone to factory settings and reinstalled all updates... its not my phone...
hell.. i even tried (against my better judgement) the "solutions" suggested in the troubleshoothing thread by "Skyee"... with no sucess.
so again, (and quite fairly i think) im going to lay the blame squarely at Nokia's feet.... my phone worked fine before this update, all my apps were there, and they worked... now half are missing, the other half dont work... and i can't get the required extra update packets to get the thing to work the way it should.
