I have a new MacBook Pro with Lion installed and I want to know if I can partition the HD so that I can install & run Snow Leopard OS 10.6.8?
Most likely won't run SL unless it's one that was released before Lion went public. Color SL gone from new Macs.

i Just bought a new macbook pro with retina a week ago and used it twice, now it appears i have a tiny black dot on the screen with a nice tiny scatch. Will apple fix my screen since it is only a week old?
Have a good night down there in that 70-80 degree weather. I just shovelled my driveway earlier. Ugh.

i have a new macbook pro! should i get lion? i dont mind paying the $ 30. my only real concern would be the bugs! i have heard alot about the bugs in lion! i would mainly use it for school work and using imovie and idvd to burn my home movies. i would also use iphoto. both of these are 09 (havent ugraded yet because i have found no need). would they work with lion.

have you used it?
do you regert getting it?

I have a new MacBook Pro with OS X Lion 10.7.4. The DVD player does not have a feature to store film clips. Why? This is useful for my work and I had it on my older computer? Why the loss of capacity?
I cannot recall the DVD player ever being a place to "store" videos - it is simply an app to play videos.
If your machine is new, then iMovie should be included as the "shrunk" version of iLife is included with Lion (iMovie, Garageband, and iPhoto). However, iMovie is not a place to store videos either - it is a video editor. You import your clips and edit them in order to then burn to a DVD or share via a social media site.
Have you considered simply dragging the clips to your folder "Movies"? That would be a great place to just store them (please be aware that videos are usually large files, so keep your hard drive space in mind so you keep a minimum free and available for the OS to operate properly): -
I have a new macbook pro running lion and want to update to ios 5 on my ipod touch. My old macbook only has 10.4.11 and can't be updated to lion - and won't update my ipod touch to ios 5. But the message on my new macbook pro says I have to update on the computer I normally use for syncing or my music will be lost. Is there any solution for this?
try exporting your iTunes libary from the old computer to the new one
take a look at this from apple

I am not sure you have home shareing with 10.4.11 but if you do it works very nicely

I have a new Macbook Pro and an old Canon ip Pixma 8500. I have downloaded the software from Canon but my printer settings will still not register it. Looks like I can print a colour calendar but not a letter!
Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps. -
I have a new Macbook Pro and it will not
I have a new macbook pro, and I recently tried to reboot from my Leopard Install DVD. Everytime it starts up I get he freezing process screen and have to hold the start button to restart the system. I cannot fix the hard drive because the computer won't boot up.
Do I have to buy Disk Warrior again?
ThanksI am using the Snow Leopard DVD to try to boot up. It crashs with the screen I told you about. I tried using the option key and it shows the DVD, but once I select it, it starts to boot and then crashes. Is this a problem because I have upgraded my os from the Apple update icon?

I have a new macbook pro. I'm seeing my wife's iphone contacts on my icloud. I've done everything I know to do to make sure my apple id is correct and has my information. I can't figure out how to remove her contacts and add my iphone contacts to the cloud or my macbook pro. Any suggestions? Thanks.
You should also ask this in the MacBook Pro forum. This is the forum for the 13” white and black plastic MacBooks that were discontinued in 2010. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer.

I have a new macbook pro and just made a video on imovie and it asked me to put it on idvd but there is no idvd listed as an option. How can i get idvd. it doesn't seem available
Since Apple has stopped supporting and offering iDVD you'll need to purchase the iLIfe 11 disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: iLife 11 which will include iDVD 7.

I have a new Macbook Pro. Trying to migrate files etc from my Macbook Air using a Thunderbolt Cable between them.
I follow the directions but the two computers never "discover" each other - using a WiFi connection works but 70 hours is a rough deal.
(Mac OS 10.8.2 on both computers)Are you trying target disk mode?

I have a new Macbook Pro hooked up to a new Belkin wireless router. I can connect to the internet without a problem. I have an HP officejet printer hooked up the the router to work wirelessley, The router is reading it as connected. My computer reads it as offline. If I reset my computer it will print whatever the first thing is in the que but nothing else and does not work after that. Is there some sort of setting that I am missing? I am trying to set this printer up to work wirelessly from three mac laptops in my house but I can't even get it to work on one right now. Any help would be awesome
