TS1363 Ipod Nano 7 shows up as an ejectable device in Itunes, but will not sync/does not show up as a device.

My nano 7 will show up meaning an option to eject it shows up.  The sync options are not grayed out, but it literally goes into sync for about 10 seconds and then shows as complete.  None of my music has moved over to nano.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes with newest version and have reset the nano as well.  The Itunes diagnostics fails when it does the device connected testing.

I've found an easier way, just go to settings>general>usage>music. Then swipe it and press delete, i think this deletes the database described above, then re-sync, this worked for me anyway. Good luck, you need it with Apple software.
I don't have a large library of music on my iPhone 4s since I've only had it since Oct 2012, but since the update to iTunes 11 in early December, my album artwork has been all messed up.  Everytime I would try to add new music, it would assign the wrong album artwork to anything new coming in.  And in addition to that, it would also mess up album artwork of music already on my phone.  Everything looked correct in iTunes, but on my phone, not so much.  After trying to unsynch, then synching again, my frustration level was at an all-time high. This problem seems to be everywhere online, but no concrete solution for everyone.
I finally came across your simple solution (at least for me because of my small inventory of music) of just deleting all the music through the settings, and then re-synching to add back my music.  Now all of the album artwork is correct again.  I'm almost afraid to add new music for fear the artwork will get mixed up all over again! I still think my issue is somehow connected to the iTunes 11 update because up until then I had no issues whatsoever. Anyway, thanks for an easy solution that worked for me.

  • My Ipod Touch 2G won't connect to My Computer & Itunes but will show that it's charging.

I've had my Ipod Touch 2G for quite a few years and it's always worked fine up until now. About a week or so ago, I wanted to add a song to my Ipod. So I downloaded the song to my ITunes then connected my Ipod in. Only my Ipod didn't show up. It would normally appear in my Itunes and in My Computer but it's not. The screen on my Ipod shows that it's charging, that's it. I've tried practically everything. I uninstalled Itunes then reinstalled it. I restarted my Ipod countless times. I've gone through the steps on iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows but nothing has worked. I know it can't be the USB port because my flashdrive connects into it just fine. It might be my USB cord, but I'm not sure. I plan to buy a new one asap but can anyone else help me? I plan to get an IPhone 5 very soon and hopefully a new laptop but my music on my Ipod isn't in my Itunes library. Do you see my problem? Please help me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    - Try another cable as yu siad
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • I updated to IOS6 on my IPAD 3 and IPad shows a pic of USB port and ITunes but will connect and/or turn on even when I connect to my computer.

I updated to IOS6 on my IPad and the screen went blank then showed a picture of a USB plug and arrow pointing to ITunes but nothing else happens.  I cannot restore, recover or sync anything....  Please help!

You will probably need to restore using Recovery Mode. You can read about it here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4097
    Or you can follow this.
    Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
    Use iTunes to restore iPad.

I have set up 3 ipod today and now the 4th one wont connect to itunes, but will charge from a power point

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    - Try another cable. I dubt it will help but do it since you have more cables
    - Try another USB port
    - Try on another cable. Again I doubt it will do anything
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • IPod Nano does not show under Devices (in iTunes) but is recognized in My Computer and also iTunes opens up automatically when it is connected

I dont think there is problem with iTunes; I uninstalled the right way and re-installed. And, moreover, my other iPod touch gets connected and synced perfectly fine. However the Nano 6th GEN just refuses to.. . Please help! Have tried all options under apple/support website, and uninstalled/ reinstalled drivers too.

Restoring the iPod will do nothing to his iPhone.
When you restore it wipes the iPod clean no matter what computer you use.
The only plus to doing it form your home computer is if you have a backup stored there, then you can restore from the backup once it's done wiping.
If you are away form your home computer, go ahead and use the computer you have to restore it, then when you get home, you can restore form any backup you may find. You can use this to help you do that when you get there: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766

    Hi Goofy Goat,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like you have done some great troubleshooting for your iPod nano that is not responding. In this situation, if resetting it did not resolve, I would suggest restoring the iPod back to its factory settings and then sync your content back onto it from iTunes. Please use the following article as a resource for restoring.

    1. Update iTunes to the latest version. Plug in your iPod. If iTunes still can't recognize it, then in iTunes in the top left corner click help> run diagnostics. On the box that comes up, check the last two things. Click next and it should identify your iPod.
    2. Click on your windows start menu. Type in "services". Click on it and when it pops up, on the bottom of it click on "standard". Now Scroll down to find "Apple Mobile Device" Right click it when you see it and click on "Start". When it has started, close iTunes and replug in your iPod and it should show up.
    3. Check the USB cable
    4. Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
    5. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service and verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed.
    6. If you just want to add some photos, songs and movies from computer to your devices, you can use an iTunes alternative to do the job.
    7. Check for third-party software conflicts.
