TS1372 Cannot restore IPod Nano 6th Generation without error code 1413.

I'm trying to restore and Ipod Nano that I bought off of eBay. Itunes says that it was initially formatted on a Mac and I need to restore it. When I go to restore it, I get the error code, 1413. I have restarted the computer, shut it down and restarted, used another usb port and nothing has worked. Any suggestions?

Alright as it says in the title I keep getting an error 1439 when recovering my ipod nano. I took it to the Apple store an hour and a half away from my home and one of the so called "geniuses" plugged it into his Mac and restored it. When I got home I plugged it into my PC and it says it needs to be restored. Now the "genius" didn't tell me about this he said just sync your music. He even knew I had a PC because he asked. Try doing a level reformat of the iPod's flash storage instead to see if that kills the restore loop using the instructions in the article below.

My iPod Nano 6th generation iLive speaker system quit on me and now I cannot find a compatible speaker system. I don't want tiny personal speakers, I use this for music in the family room.

I have 2 iPod Nano 6th generation. I had them setup with different music from iTunes and I had an iLive Bluetooth docking and speaker system that charged and played them with speakers spaced in the family room. Not a little personal setup but for reasonably loud music for the whole room. My iLive system died on me. It had the 20 pin place to plug in the iPod nano and a clock and the two speakers that were bluetooth. It was the perfect setup for me. Now that model has been discontinued and I cannot find anything like it. Does anyone know what a good option is? These iPods are only a couple of years old and now obsolete because they don't make anything to play them on. I don't use earbuds, it's not what I bought them for. One has our jazz music collection, the other has Christmas music. I want to hear it throughout the house.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on anoterh computer to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The repeat setting can be found from the Nano's Now Playing screen. While playing a track, swipe to the right to bring up additional controls including the scrubber bar, as well as the repeat and shuffle otpions. See page 21 of your iPod's User Guide for more assistance on the repeat setting.

i have an ipod nano 6th generation .version 1.2 yesterday i restored it on i tunes using my system window 7. for the last few days it does not start when the sleep/pause button is pressed.or even by pressing the both button sleep/pause and sound minus..It starts while connected to power. and then continues working. Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like you have tried a lot of things and the iPod still will not turn on. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.
iPod won't turn on
If you have tried the solutions above and iPod still won't turn on, check the following:
Make sure iPod is the only device in your FireWire or USB chain. Disconnect everything but the mouse, keyboard, and your iPod, then see if it will turn on.
Make sure you are using the FireWire or USB cable that came with your iPod, and that the cable is in good condition.
Try connecting iPod to the built-in port of a different computer to see if that works. Note: If using a portable computer, make sure it is plugged in to a power source and that the lid or display is open. If the lid is closed the computer may go into either standby, sleep, or hibernation mode and iPod will not charge properly.
If you still can't turn iPod on after performing these steps, it may need to be repaired. You can arrange for repair at the iPod Service Website.

Issue with Ipod Nano 6th Generation

I am currently living in Japan and managed to get an iPod nano 6th generation at the Apple Store in Shibuya. However, there are a few things that I am curious as to whether or not other users are experiencing. First, my songs are set to shuffle, and sometimes when I hit next song it will shuffle through 3 or 4 (my shake to shuffle feature is OFF). Once it gets to the song, it might show one songs cover but play a different song. Also, if a song is playing and I blank out the screen, the next song will sometimes play, but sometimes it won't at all. When I wake up the screen it appears as if the next song should be playing but it isn't. So far, this has been a little disappointing. Does this sound like a problem with the software and are others experiencing anything like this? Thanks in advance!

What you are describing sounds like tracks that have been put on your nano that are not authorized to play them.
First, go to itunes and sort your music by "Kind" if this column is not showing, right click and select the kind column to show up. Sort by this column and scroll down, you will most likely see some music where the kind is "Protected AAC" or something like that. If you look on your nano, you will see that the tracks that are not playing are the ones where their kind is "Protected AAC".
If this all ends up being right, you need to reauthorize your computer to play your music. Connect your ipod, then in itunes select 'Store>Deauthorize this computer'. Then, select 'Store>Authorize this computer'. Then restore your ipod and resync all your tracks. Once you are done, they should be authorized and you should be able to play them on your ipod.
