TS1372 I have iPod Classic in Disk Mode and when i connect it to my apple computer it does not appear in iTunes and the screen displays a message saying "Do not disconnect" with a circle with a line through it, flashing. What do I do now?
I have iPod Classic in Disk Mode and what do I do next cause it's not showing up in iTunes?
Does the iPod appear on your desktop as an external hard drive? Has the iPod ever successfully connected before? Disconnect your iPod and reset it using the Select (Center) and Menu button combo. Then reboot your Mac, open iTunes, and reconnect your iPod to a high powered USB 2.0 port and see if it's recognized.
Have you worked through all the troubleshooting here?

Ipod Classic in disk mode shows in Itunes but not on desktop or in finder? Can't add any files to it.
With the Finder as the front most application, choose Finder -> Preferences -> General and make sure there is a tick mark next to CDs, DVDs, and iPods, under the option Show these items on the desktop.

and my computer opened iPhoto as it always does. It obviously recognized the device, but the iPod sis not appear in iTunes and I therefore could not sync it. Is there some setting I may have accidentally turned off?
Also, today, there seems to be no sound coming through either my internal speakers or my headphones, and not just in iTunes. I doubt these two problems are related, but perhaps there is something beyond coincidence and an old computer?but the iPod sis not appear in iTunes and I therefore could not sync it.

iPhone and iPod Touch will never show as a disk drive.

Doublechecking. Have you also tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:

My nano worked out just fine for a month until one day - when I wanted to charge the battery - it just did not appear in iTunes, nor on my desktop. I tried the 5 Rs, but can't restore, of course, because my mac does not recognize the nano. As soon as I plug in the nano to my mac, it is stuck on "Do not disconnect" and does not charge. I'm tired of resetting and plugging the USB cable in and out. Please, help!
What else can I do? Does it make sense to send my nano back and have it inspected? Does Apple charge for technical support?

iBookG4 Mac OS X (10.4.2)me again.. hey did you guys work out how to get around it at all? I'd so love some adivce. I think i'm going crazy ay. I've also tried all the things mentioned in the above link given by another member..with no luck. May be its possible that there's not enough space on my computers hard drive to recognise the ipod???? Plus when i did originally download the software from out of the box, it didn't allow me to select where i wanted to put this software and just said it was putting it on my hard-drive anyway. I would of liked to have positioned it somewhere, so i knew where to find it and too make sure it was all there n ok.
I look forward to hearing form ANYONE with some tips :o)

Im Using an ipod touch 4th gen and i have updated the iOS to 6 and nothing happens except the screen is always in apple logo only. and when i connect it to laptop, the ipod does not recognizein windows and also in iTunes
The Nano uses different drivers than iOS devices like the iPod touch

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

ITunes won't recognize my iPod classic in disk mode.
I have a iPod classic that has the sad face. I read all the articles, and videos that show how to fix it, and all of them show that you need to force it into disk mode and plug it into your computer and restore it with iTunes. I can get it into disk mode fine, but when I plug it into my computer iTunes won't recognize it.
Do you have any suggestions?

One thing to try is to uninstall and re-install iTunes.
The only other thing I can think of, is that your cable may have become defective. Do you have another computer with iTunes you can compare with?

Try putting your iPod Classic into Disk Mode to force a restore within iTunes to get it to show up. The steps to do that are within the first article below, I have also provided a second article for further troubleshooting if it continues to not show up.

How do i get my ipod out of disk mode, it wont do n e thing at all, wont reset or turn off or anything and it says ok to disconnect, but nothings connected what do i do

Need a little more info:
- What OS are you using--Mac or Windows?
- Does your nano show up in iTunes when you connect it?
- Is your 'Hold' button showing white next to it (meaning it is off)?
