The suggested fix for unknown error occured (-42110) is only described for Vista/Wndows 7. Can someone please explain how to find the SC folder in Windows 8 please ?

It's in the same place in the folder hierarchy on Windows 8 as in Windows 7/Vista, but to show the hidden files and get there is a little different.
I don't have Windows 8, but asked someone who had it to check for us. Credit to Skydiver119 for the following instructions:
To access what serves as start, you hover in the lower left corner, which brings up the small pop up to access the start page. Then click on Computer, then go to the control panel, then to the folder options.
Make those changes, then, to get to the folder to delete the SC data, you click on the file explorer icon and click your way through the folder hierarchy.

How can you use symbols @$€%£¥ in Windows 7 on a IMac 27 mid 2011? I tried what was normally done on Windows and got nothing. Alt plus numbers and nothing happens, what am I missing?

Are you referring to an equivalent to the Windows Character Map Application (charmap.exe) that allowed you to see the various characters available in each font, and then give you an ALT-nnn number you could key to use the character you wanted ?
If so you can use the Special Characters from the Edit menu of most applications. Once you have located the character/symbol you want double click it and it will be entered wherever you cursor is located in your application.

BenB it creates a disc image only and it's not in .m2v. I think it saved it as an Apple Pro Res 422 format instead. The disc image file format will not allow
Toast 11 to create menus etc. Thanks for your help.

You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

I don't have an answer for you but I'm going thru the same thing. I just want to select MANUALLY MANAGE MY MUSIC AND VIDEOS on iTunes so that I can ADD -- not remove or replace -- what I already have on my iPhone.
I couldn't find an answer so I just went ahead and "replaced" music and added movies to my iPhone. I thought I had the "manually" box selected. It wiped out ALL my ringtones and everything else important to me. Thank you God for iCloud.
BUT with iCloud, in order to actually use this fabulous feature, you have to "restore to factory settings" So you have to strip it down and start over. Grrrr.
So I wanted my ringtones back and I got everything I had BACK (minus a few text messages and photos I didn't back up) but I'm still having the same issue.
THE MANUALLY MANGAGE MUSIC SELECTION BOX DOES NOT WORK!! I don't want to have to load my iPhone with what I want -- back it up -- strip it down -- bring it all back -- just to get what I want on my device. But then iCloud does NOT back up your music unless you "purchased" it. Seriously? That's unfair and stupid. I have 80 GB of music on my computer. I want to put what I want on my iPhone.

How can the Add This Facebook window issue be fixed?

The problem I run into is when clicking on the "Share Link" Facebook button under the Add This menu. After clicking on it, it will grey out for a little, but then the window never disappears and eventually the "Share Link" button goes back to the normal blue color. I do not have this issue on my Chrome or Opera browsers. I already spoke to Add This support and they said no issues on their end and it's a bug with Firefox. What is the problem and how can it be resolved?

A quick guess or two, since you haven't really explained the symptoms.
Are your Flow and Density sliders set to something reasonable?
Try hitting the H (for hide) key.
Is the Size slider set to something large enough?

Lion has changed the order in which Finder items are sorted in Icon View; Acc vs. Desc. How can you change this order?

The order in which items are sorted has changed in Lion and I can't figure out how, or if, it can be changed. Previously in Snow Leopard if you sorted by 'Date' in Icon View, your icons would be arranged from oldest to newest. The same was true for 'Kind' and all the order sort options. In Kind my *.zip files were positioned last.
Now in Lion, the order is reversed. Newest and Zips on top... the accending vs. decnding order has been changed. How can I change the sort order in Icon View?

I managed to fix the reverse order issue by deleting the com.apple.finder.plist and com.apple.finder.plist.lockfile in the user library folder. I did have to use terminal to delete the files and then re-launch finder from the force quit window. Here are the step-by-step instructions:
Hold down the option key while selecting the Go menu. Select Library.
Navigate to the Preferences.
Find the com.apple.finder.plist.lockfile and delete it.
Open Terminal (Application/Utilites)
In Terminal type in sudo rm (include a space after the rm and do not hit enter)
Drag com.apple.finder.plist file to the terminal window. It will fill in the path to the file)
Press return.
Type in your password and hit return. (The cursor will not move when you type in your password)
From the Apple menu, select force quit.
Highlight finder and select re-launch.
Be careful when using Terminal. There is no undo button and you can accidentally delete important files.

I keep getting exact duplicate songs in playlists and libraries, how can you filter this out when upgrading these lists, or sync to the same device again? And how to do it without going through each and every P'list or Library ?

I have Windows XP-Pro SP3, the latest upgrades of Three media players, iTunes being the default player. I keep getting duplicates in playlists, libraries etc., of the same version of song. Everytime i make a change or renew my media to device or SYNC it wants to add duplicates to the computer disk, lists etc. Can you filter out same copies without having to edit each and every song, which in my case is quite large. For instance if you want to convert all mpeg, or mp4-a files to AAC you will end up with duplicates of each file type. Or you sync to an ipod, the library adds to itself---- including copies of songs already in it, if in a different file version.

This will always duplicate files within iTunes. I need to ask why you're doing this conversion - all formats are compatible with iTunes, and conversion between mp3 and AAC will always involve some loss of quality.

How can you open a new window in the new iTunes 11 ???

In the old version, you can open a list in a new window. But I don't find this option in the iTunes 11 -.- Can somebody help me ???

This is what I always use. You can also click on the plus sign at the far right, that will also give you a new tab/window. And if you want that tab to be a separate window, then once you've created it, just go up to that tab (avoid the little x that will appear--that deletes it), click on the tab, hold and drag it down. In the properties window from a CWGraph you can set the style (bar, line, multicolor). How can you do this programmaticly?

I can't find the style property in my object inspector(Delphi). With style, I want to set the graphic type. For example: simple, bar or multicolor. In the help from the CWGraph object I can not find anything about it. I have solved the problem now by exporting the desired graph and then import it if I create a new object Dynamicly. You set the style for each individual CWPlot, not the graph itself. Each plot can have its own style, the graph style sheet is just there for quick changes of common plot styles. You would change the LineStyle, PointStyle, Colors, etc of each plot to do this programmatically. For example, to pick a bar style for a plot you would:
CWGraph1.Plots(1).LineStyle = cwLineStepXY
CWGraph1.Plots(1).FillToBase = True
CWGraph1.Plots(1).PointStyle = cwPointNone
This would create a plot that steps and is filled to base with no points shown (bars). If you want to see how the graph styles change the plots, pick a graph style in the property pages, then look at the plot page and see how the plot properties changed.

Firefox 11.0/12.0 does not launch and provides no error message, how can I fix this? Windows 7/8

Running Windows 7 on one partition, and Windows 8 Consumer Preview on another, Firefox does not open for either.
Firefox crashes upon opening without an error message. I have reinstalled and manually cleared profile information. If I create a new profile, it works until I close and try to relaunch requiring me to make a new profile.
I have tried removing/reinstalling java as well (just in case), as I had been editing some of the java installation from my Windows 7 partition.
As I launch the Firefox, if I watch the task manager, Firefox.exe appears for a moment, but disappears almost immediately.
No files appear in 'C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports' directory with the exception of the 'InstallTime*********' file.
*Information posted in the "Troubleshooting Information" section below is from the Windows 8 Consumer Preview partition. There are some errors with my display driver not being updated properly, but Firefox -was- working on Windows 8 Consumer Preview until just recently, so I am assuming that is not part of the issue.

Regarding Naomi Internet Filter, I verified that it was -not- something installed (I hadn't heard of it before, but I made sure nevertheless in case it piggybacked on something).
As far as system restore software, I keep none =x
Never have, and I change over OS's relatively often (I went from 7 this past fall to 7/Kubuntu/BTLinux, to 8DeveloperPreview/Kubuntu/BTLinux, to overwriting Kubuntu with 7 a few weeks later, overwrote 8DevPrev to 8ConsumerPreview, and then removed both linux partitions and remerged with a fresh install of two separate partitions for 7 and 8 (I help with some OS compatibility/stress testing for a friend's software development company).
As far as software that monitors or interacts with online connections..
Adobe Flash Player 11 Plugin, Apple Application Support, Apple Software Update, Bonjour, Google Chrome (not that it's preferred over FF, just over IE ;]), Java(TM) 7 Update 3, Microsoft Security Essentials, Microsoft Silverlight (I started having issues not long after I installed Silverlight, however I don't feel like this is causing any issue, as I tried removing it and reinstalling everything from scratch, but no luck), Mozilla Firefox 11.0 (x86 en-US)/Mozilla Firefox 12.0 (x86 en-US), Mozilla Maintenance Service, No-IP DUC (tested this and found no difference or ability for it to hinder FF), (previously) Skype 5.8, TortoiseSVN 1.7.5.22551 (32 bit), and WinSCP 4.3.7.
None of which I've found to have issues with Firefox in the past, as well as FF was working with them until just recently.
As far as I can tell, automatic updates were disabled for everything (including my OS), and no changes had been made to any of the software, with the exception of I had installed Silverlight, but as mentioned earlier, I didn't find any issues with this.
Like you say, my best guess at this point would be that there's something funky set up with my partitions, and so I may just do another fresh wipe and try again (it just takes forever to get everything installed that I need for school, so I'll probably just wait it out for a while).
The only reason in which I would go against it being a partition setup issue, is that it -was- working. However, I do recognize that something could have come up after a while (not sure how, but I don't doubt it).
I hadn't thought about downgrading past 11, but it's definitely worth a shot, and I'm more than willing to try. once I'm done with stuff today I'll give it a shot and post the results here.
