  • TS1398 My Iphone 5 wont connect to my home wifi but other devices will. What do I do?

I went away for a weekend and when I came home my iphone would not connect to my home wifi. I have tried everything I could think of. Reset the phone, the network settings, the router everything that I could possibly think of. Other devices will connect to the wifi but just not the phone.

Remove all power from the router for about 15 seconds. If that doesn't fix it check if you have MAC filtering enabled on the router. If you do the iPhone needs to be added to the Allowed list.

What is the iOS of the iPad, and what is the iOS of the iPhone 5?

Since you have already isolated it down to your home network, if following Steve's instructions do not fix your issue, contact your Internet Service Provider or Router Manufacturer and make sure your network is set up according to this information: iOS and OS X: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

Just now my iphone 4s wont connect to wi-fi .. Says incorrect password .. I tryed defrent networek

Not even close.  I've read through hundreds of questions and responses to this is.  Here's a summary of the issue - it's a pretty simple problem.  iPod touches and iPhones are not recognizing CORRECT network passwords. Key word is "CORRECT".  The problem appears to be random, meaning that it occurs sometimes after an update and sometimes after you've disconnected from the network.  There is no pattern.  If you are truly experiencing the issues of an unrecognized correct password, there is little hope.  In all of the threads I've read through there has been no solution.  Recreating a home network, changing security level from WEP to WPA, changing the channel used by the router, resetting iPod/iPhone network settings, powering off router, modem, etc.  Folks, none of it works.  There is no known solution to this issue.  Last resort is to restore the device.  I'm doing that now - will check back with an update.

When I am connected to my home wifi, it says I am connected but the 4G icon doesn't go away.  How can I make that go away when I am connected?

When I'm at my home, and on my Wifi, my 4G icon on my LG G2 is still present. No big deal. If the bits can flow via WiFi, that's what they'll do.
You might try (if you really MUST shut off the cellular radio):
Settings, Network Connections and More networks. Select Mobile Networks and uncheck Mobile data and data roaming.
Not sure if that will work - but give it a try.

  • My unibody macbook (latest 2010 model) wont connect to my home wifi. When it does which is rare, it is very slow. I have tried everything from renewing DCHP lease and such. This has been going on for two months.

It will not connect but my other apple devices can connect and the wifi works very well. I have moved houses to my house wifi isnt the same as the old one. Also, i have to type in the password every time even if i click autosave. Sometimes it also says invalid password or connection timeout. This has been going on for two months and is getting really annoying. I've tried most of the solutions listed on other discussions, none of them work. Any other tips? Thank you. Ps i've had this macbook for 3+ years

    Two questions:
    1. Your profile says OS 9.2.x. Is that correct?
    2. Impossible to provide "other" tips without knowing what you have aleady tried. What have you tried?

  • TS1398 I need help getting connected to our home wifi.

I need help getting connected to our home wifi. I've reset network settings, iPhone, and router  but the error "unable to join network" keeps coming up. I also double checked the password. Please help

    Other possibilities:
Your router firmware is out of date. Check the manufacturer's website for an update
You have MAC (Media Access Control) filtering enabled on the router, that restricts access to "known" devices and the new iPhone is not on the table of known devices
Your router has a setting limiting the number of simultaneous allowed devices
Your routers SSID ("name") is still the default (e.g., LINKSYS, DLINK, NETGEAR, etc). Your phone has encountered other routers with the same name as you have traveled, and the phone is confused as to which router is the real one. If your router's name is still the default you should change it.

  • TS1398 im having real problems connecting to my home wifi, it keeps coming up saying unable to join even though the password is correct, this has been ever since i updated software to ios6

Im having real problems connecting to my home wifi from my i phone 4s, it just keeps saying unable to join even though the password is correct,
I have tried resetting my network settings but to no avail,
yesterday I reset all settings then it actually worked, however today the problem started again so I repeated the reset but it still isn't working
This has only started happening since i upgraded software to ios6
    Please help

Here is what I would do:
Shutdown all computers connected to the router.
    Power off the router.
Power off the modem (cable or DSL).
    Wait 30 seconds.
Power on the modem. Ensure all lights are lit and the modem is online.
Power on the router. Ensure it's communicating to the modem.
Turn on your Macbook Pro first (the one experiencing the issue. Check it's connection. If it's still having issues, removed the networks it can attach to, turn off WiFi; then turn WiFi back on and reconnect to your WiFi network.
Turn on other Macs in household. Check their connections.
Sometimes "rebooting" the modem and router fixes connectivity issues.

  • 3GS wont connect to my home WiFi network

Ok got a 3GS, trying to get it connected ot my home WiFi network (I have a touch which connects fine)
I switch on wifi, it finds my network, and has a tick next to it but it doesnt show any IP or details on the page, and no WiFi strength bar on the top of the status bar (although shows good strength on the WiFi setting page)
I do use MAC filtering but added it, tried it on/off and nothing. I also use WPA2, and typed in the p/word fine, as I say my iPod touch connects fine
Can someone help this is driving me nuts
    cheers

I found a typo in my MAC filtering, but as I said I tried with this off and it didnt work then?
But now it does connect but now I have another question please...
Anyway, it connects, but now I make my SSID invisible, I put the network in OTHER on the iPhone and it connected, but how do I make the iPhone remember my Hidden SSID WiFi network so it connects everytime without having to manually enter in SSID/Password etc? or is this not possible

  • TS1398 My Ipod won't connect to my home wifi.

I just got a brand new 5th generation Ipod and it won't connect to my Wifi for some reason. All of my other devices connect just fine with the password that I provide etc. but this one refuses to. When I try to connect it let's me type in the password but doesnt let me hit 'join' at all. And when I go straight to Safari and enter my password (this is the only time I'm allowed to hit join) it says unable to connect. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Have you tried starting FF in safe mode and then disabling all add-ons and extensions?
Then restart the browser enabling each add-on one by one. I did this and found that Stumbleupon toolbar was the problem for me as my browser was freezing as soon as I started it and going into not responding but with this currently disabled the browser works fine. Just hope there is an update for Stumble soon.
