Is it coming through as a winmail.dat file ? If it is then you could try one of the winmail.dat apps from the store and see if that works with it.
Or is it coming through as a PDF but isn't downloading, opening or displaying correctly ? If so then is just the one PDF, all PDFs, from one sender ? Have you tried closing the Mail app via the taskbar and seeing if the PDF opens/displays when you re-open the app ? From the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.

    I only use Image Capture, so I can't speak for other software.

    Do you have a smaller capacity micro SD card to try? I seem to remember from past posts that users were having problems with cards larger than 32GB, however, Apple's page doesn't mention this.

  • Connecting external drive crashes iMovie 8 - Apple please fix this!

    If I have external drives connected when I start iMovie 8 it will crash when it tries to index them.
    Also if I have no drives connected and iMovie 8 running, the program will crash as soon as I connect a drive.
    Apple, please fix this! I need to use external drives for storing of my videos.

    Are your external drives formatted as Mac OS Extended / HFS+ ..? They should be.
    If they aren't, you'll have to remove whatever's already stored on them, and then re-format them using Applications>Utilities>Disk Utility. You can then put back what was stored on them.
    (P.S: I have NO crashes using iMovie '08 and any correctly-formatted external FireWire drives. I don't use external USB drives, as they're not fast enough for the sustained read/write speeds which video requires.)

  • Apple, please fix this!! -- info dialog should not block itunes contols.

    Running iTunes 7.6.2.9, I want to edit info for a song. I realize that I cannot concentrate on the info while the current song is playing. I get a blink and no action when I click pause. This is not a reasonable behavior!
    There is no reason I can think of why the info dialog should be modal.

    Makes sense, sort of, and we could go into all the techie details of how to manage the library database safely.
    It turns out however that one CAN edit much of the info on the fly already, by clicking on the fields directly, rather than opening the dialog. (I just discovered this accidentally.) I have successfully paused my song in the midst of making changes to title or album name. Hence it would seem that at least some fields may safely be edited while playing a song. I certainly agree that the change I am asking for would make the programmer's job a bit more difficult.
    That's ok, I'm the customer!

    I am getting tired of having to try an remember what episode of my shows I was on! I'm an avid anime watcher who queues up whole series' on my iPod Touch 3g 32GB and go to watch 12 episodes or so, connect the iPod, disconnect, go back to series, pow! they all report they are unwatched! Btw, I use Manually Manage Music settings, not auto sync.
    Same thing with my music. I know I have listened to one song at least 40 times, and still the play count is at 2. Because iTunes remembers to count it but can't remember to count the iPod's count when it counts.
    This is probably a REALLY EASY FIX, you guys are just so lazy to not fix this problem and say that Apple products have the best customer support?! If you want to boast that please fix the simple problems! I have a 70 episode series I'm starting soon and I don't want to have to right down where I left off.

  • Wrong CD Titles Displayed THIS IS A BUG IN OSX APPLE PLEASE FIX

    I've been having this same problem for YEARS. Can comeone at Apple please address this issue? Here's what happens. I load a custom CD that has never been in the machine before and it should just display this CD as "title" or some other generic notation. Instead, the operating system displays the CD NAME OF THE LAST CD I BURNED. The system also ASSIGNS THE TRACK NAMES OF THE LAST CD BURNED. The tracks will continue to be mislabeled when importing into a digital editor. WHY HASN'T APPLE FIXED THIS? This has been going on since 10.2.8 fercrissakes.
    Where is CD title information stored? I've gone through my ~/Library/Cache folder and couldn't find anything there.

    The information is stored in "CD Info.cidb" in your preferences folder.
    It will also look on the internet if the option is enabled in the "Importing" tab of iTune's "Advanced" preference.
    It looks up the track names based on the combination of all the track lengths. If you make more than one CD with the track lengths the same, it will think they are the same CD.

  • Apple PLEASE FIX THIS in iWeb!!!

    We need to be able to create several different domain files, that are in no way linked together, yet can be open in iWeb at the same time!!! Please hook us up with a quick update, very important for some of us.
    I have 2 websites, one is hosted elsewhere, and one is hosted on .mac. I have both of them in the single iWeb domain file at the moment, but would prefer to have it organized like this;
    Domain A
    Domain B
    so that when I open each file, just one site comes up, which ever one is linked to that domain file. The main reason why I would love this is because I do not want to have to keep switching my sites around, as to which should appear first, when I export to my FTP or upload to .mac, secondly I don't want to upload the site that is hosted elsewhere to .mac, we should have this option, and it makes it very unpleasant and not user-friendly, which is what we are used to with the iLife apps.
    Please respond to this by simply updating iWeb so that we have this option, sooner rather than later!!!

    Here is a non-Apple solution that should work (I haven't tested it specifically with iLife, but that's because I don't use iLife for anything but goofing around. This does work with Dreamweaver, however.)
    Go to the macfuse page and download MacFUSE-Core-(version num).dmg and sshfs-(version num).dmg. I replaced the version numbers with version num in case they update... get the ones on this page:

    Macfuse might sound complicated, because most of the pages are written in developer jargon, but it's basically a system that allows you to use network resources as if they were a hard drive on your system. The sshfs file is the plugin that allows Macfuse to use web servers as a drive.
    The Macfuse core package comes with a standard Apple installer, so it should be painless. The sshfs.dmg contains sshfs.app, which is a normal app that basically acts as the connector to your website. That gets dragged to your applications folder, or wherever.
    Note: Macfuse is not launched by itself. It's basically a framework for writing applications that mount network resources (or hitherto unsupported-on-the-mac disk formats) as normal disks.
    Make sure you install the Macfuse core first, because sshfs won't work without it. After both are installed, launch sshfs.
    You'll be prompted for your server address, username and (optionally) the sub-directory you want to connect to. You are prompted for your password after the connection is made, and if everything you entered its correct, your website should mount as a drive.
    From there, I think you know what to do - publish your iLife website that's not on .Mac to a folder, in thiscase the folder would be /Volumes/yourwebsite, where yourwebsite is whatever sshfs calls your remote web directory.
    (warning: if you are completely non-technical, this may be intimidating, but it wasn't hard to set up at all if you follow the instructions. warning: this is non apple software, and if it doesn't work, I probably won't be able to tell you why, but there is a wiki & faq on the download site that details how to recover from most problems it seems)

  • ATTENTION APPLE - PLEASE FIX THIS BUG !!!

    I know Apple knows of the issue when working with 720p 24p material generated from a HVX200 camera. For instance if I add a title over the media then render ... it jumps my original material 1-3 frames ahead. Its worse when you add a cross dissolve .... it jumps 2-3 frames in resulting in a "hick-up" effect. I guess people have found a work around by re-importing everything and I guess re-cutting stuff but this should'nt be the solution. The SOLUTION should be that Apple fixes this issue ASAP! No?

    That is the exact solution I gave you over the phone. They did a few things differently (and I find better, as a matter of fact) but in essence it is what I adviced you to do.
    This is the learning curve. This is why you never EVER update mid project. This is a lesson. One that you will never forget. I can't tell you how many times something has happened during an upgrade that caused problems...so often that everywhere I work people won't do anything until projects are done. Unless they need to upgrade to fix something, and if that fixes it but causes a new problem, then you have to deal with it and put in man hours to fix it.
    And no, you cannot bill Apple. If Avid was hit with the hours of pain and reworking it caused, it would have gone out of business long ago.
    And this is a case of "take responsibility for you actions." You chose to upgrade mid project, even though we have advised against it numerous times on this board in hundreds of threads...and on other FCP boards as well. Just because you didn't know not to, doesn't make Apple liable for your mistake. It was a mistake...and one you have to fix. This happens. Mistakes happen all the time, and I have made my fair share of doozies. But I don't blame Avid or Apple for them. I may yell and scream at them, but it was my mistake for not knowing that what I did was what I wasn't supposed to do.

  • Hey Apple, please fix this data connection bug before I go insane!!

    On my second iPhone 4s now and it is doing the same thing as my first. Throughout the day, especially when I am in the car (and presumably switching between towers), my phone drops from 3G to the little "o" symbol which means 2G. This is on Verizon's network. I have tried EVERYTHING under the sun to fix this, resetting network settings, erasing all data and setting up as a new phone, doing a factory restore, etc. Tried it on both phones and nothing fixed it. I called Apple and they tried to blame Verizon, but that is BS because my wife also has a 4S and hers has not done it a SINGLE time. When we are driving together, mine drops to the "o" constantly and hers NEVER does. Ever. The funny thing is that if I go to airplane mode and switch it on and back off, my phone IMMEDIATELY picks up the 3G connection again, indicating that this isn't some physical problem with the antenna or reception. It also does it when I am not holding the phone, so I know it isn't my hand attenuating the signal. I have done a lot of research and seen many many other people having this issue, with some people now on their 4th replacement phone and still having the problem. This is a software bug and needs to be addressed! My Android phones never had this issue,
    I have the black 32GB and got it on the first day they were released, although my replacement phone was picked up just before Christmas. I don't want to bother with another replacement because I'm pretty certain it will just do the same thing these past two have been doing.

    Restore the phone as a new device. Do NOT restore your backup. See if that clears it up. If it did it with your first phone and the replacement, it's reasonable to assume that you restored the replacement from the backup of the original. If something was corrupt, it would have been contained in that backup, transferring the problem to the new phone.
