I plugged in my iPad to my Windows 8 computer via USB- 30 pin iPad 3 connector cable because I wanted to downgrade my iPad for a reason. I did the method where you completely shut off your iPad, hold the power button for 3 seconds, then simultaneously hold down the home button and the power button, etc. I forgot that my computer had a virus that my dad was about to remove, but it was already too late. The apple "boot-up" sign disappeared like right when I released the button, and my iPad wouldn't turn on anymore. It has been about an hour now, and it still doesn't work. Do you guys think that I have any chanceof waking up my iPad ever again?

What do you mean by "downgrade my iPad for a reason"?  You cannot downgrade an iOS device.
A virus on the computer should not affect your iPad unless it has been jailbroken, it has no access to the operating system otherwise.
Clean up the computer, then do a reboot of the iPad by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.
If that does not help, you will have to restore it using the recovery mode, instructions for doing that are found in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808.

Have you tried holding the Home and Power buttons at the same time? You should let them go when the Apple logo appears.

  • Plugged my iPad into old computer now my cord won't let me charge ?

Ok we have 3 iPads in our house.
My son plugged the iPad into a computer and was able to put music on through  iTunes .
Now when I try to use that cord with the wall charger it doesn't seem to work?
It still works for transferring data from the computer. But refuses to charge it.
    Any ideas?
I also tried another cord and it's doing the same thing, now we are down to 1 charging cord for 3 iPads , not cool :(
    Any ideas?

    Yeah it's weird.
I did reset the iPad/s with home and power button. Didn't work :(
They worked fine until I plugged them into the computer.
They now won't charge any iPad :(
I appreciate all the ideas and suggestions .
    Thank you

It could have powered off. Try holding the sleep button down for a few seconds until the apple logo appears to restart it

  • Problem is, when I plug my iPhone 5 into my computer, the computer recognizes the iPhone, but for some reason, iTunes doesn't realize it's there

Alright, I've had this problem for a while now, and I'm at my wit's end. Hope someone can help me.
First of all, I'm running Windows 8.0 on a Lenovo, using iTunes 11.1.5, and an iPhone on iOS 7.0.6.
Problem is, when I plug my iPhone 5 into my computer, the computer recognizes the iPhone, but for some reason, iTunes doesn't realize it's there. On top of that, every time I plug in, my phone gives me the same "Trust this computer?" prompt, like it doesnt recognize the computer I told it to trust 5 seconds ago. A couple times, I got lucky and iTunes dignified me with a "An iPhone has been detected, but could not be identified properly." prompt. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mobile device driver, updating everything, uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, resetting my iphone settings, but nothing works. Any ideas?

I have it set on manually manage music and videos. So there is no automatic syncing going on or anything like that. Yes iTunes was open and when i plugged in my phone i could see all the music and everything on my phone, everything was working like it was supposed to, I didn't have a problem until I unplugged the phone.

Of you're being phished. There are a lot of phishing scams going around right now with bad guys trying to get access to apple ID's.
Anytime you want to verify the info, do not click on any links in the mail, but open up iTUnes on your computer and check things out that way.
If you want to verify if anything is wrong http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/contact/
contact apple on your own and see what they say.

  • When you plug your ipad into your computer is it meant to charge?

When you plug your ipad into your computer is it meant to charge ?

    Not necessarily...
    iPad Charging
"The fastest way to charge your iPad is with the included USB Power Adapter.
iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter.
When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge, but only when it's in sleep mode.
Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain."

My daughters ipod touch was reset by accident and I don't think it was ever plugged into a computer. Is there a way to restore all the games she purchased on it?

Restore from iCloud backup if shed has one.
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • My hard drive died and i dowloaded itunes again and got my purchased music back but is plugging my ipod touch into my computer going to erase my music?

I had to rplace my hardrive, redownload itunes and I got my purchased back from itunes online! However, i am scared that if plug my ipod touch into my computer, is my music going to be erased? Help me please...

Yes, it will be erased. You need to first transfer the music to iTunes on your computer using a third-party utility such as Phone to PC | macroplant.com

Did you create these notes in the iPad notes App ... I assume?
This support article will explain how you can restore from a backup - which is what you have to do in order to have any chance of recovering your note.
How to backup and restore from a backup
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
But you have to remember, that you will lose any of the notes that you have taken since the date of the last backup. If you synced your iPad last week, then you will lose a whole week of current notes - or whatever notes you have created since your last backup. When you restore from a backup - you restore everything in that backup onto the iPad - that was on the iPad on the time and date of the backup.
If you backup every day, then all of your notes should be recoverable from the backup - except for any notes that you took since you last backed up. There is no foolproof way to recover everything once you start taking more notes or creating new documents or whatever that you do in an app unless you are syncing those notes with iCloud and backing up all of the time or unless the app is set to sync with iCloud as you work on the files - like in Pages, Numbers or Keynote - Apple's iWorks apps.
If you decide to restore from an iTunes backup you should turn off at sync before you try restoring because iTunes will want to backup your iPad right away when you plug it in and you will lose your old or last backup.

This is a common problem on many laptops, not just HP ones. I guess that the device BIOS might be bugged and cause troubles but that is just my guess. I haven't seen any solution for this except restoring the computer to a previous working condition but if the computer is a new one and the webcam hasn't worked at all, it may not work ever at all.
