TS1538 my 4th generation ipod touch is not recognize in itunes. it just displays the updating circle spinning then shows the apple then goes back to spinning. it is unusable now, what can I do

MY DAUGHTERS IPOD TOUCH HAD NO AVAILABLE SPACE LEFT IN MEMORY SO WE TRIED TO CONNECT IT TO ITUNES TO SAVE PICS TO MY LAPTOP AND THEN UPDATE IT BUT ITUNES SAID IT DID NOT RECOGNIZE THIS DEVICE. SINCE THEN, IT IS ONLY DISPLAYING WHAT I WOULD SAY IS THE LOADING CIRCLE SPINNING AROUND AND AROUND THEN SHOWS THE APPLE LOGO FOR A SECOND THEN GOES BACK TO THE SPINNING CIRCLE. IT CANNOT CONNECT TO ITUNES NOW BECAUSE ITS LOCKED BUT WE CAN'T GET THE MAIN SCREEN TO OPEN IT WITH THE PASSWORD...PLEASE HELP

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My 4th Generation iPod Touch will not sync with iTunes

My iPod is about two years old. Whenever I plug it into my computer, it does not connect to iTunes. This started recently, maybe about a week ago. I'm not able to sync my music, photos, anything. Everything is up to date.
    Any suggestions?

    Try
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Before you reinstall the Apple software, also remove iCloud vi Control Panel Remove programs. The reinstall the Apple programs
New cable and different USB port?
Runs this and see if the results help with determine the cause

    Sounds like this problem:
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem.

  • My 4th Generation iPod Touch Will Not Back-Up On iTunes

My iPod Touch will not back up. I have the newest version of iTunes and my iPod Touch is running iOS 6 and sometimes it won't sync or even be recongnized as a device. iTunes says my last back up was on August 27th, and I've synced it multiple times since then. It is critical that I find a solution soon, because if the last backup was on the 27th, that means the software backed up is 5.1.1, and I'm selling my current iPod on eBay and it ships next week as I await the new iPod Touch and I need to restore from that backup! I cannot start as a new iPod Touch. Any solutions?

Type " Apple Mobile Device service" into the search bar at the top of this screen next to "Support" and see if the resulting articles help.

  • My iPod touch is not resonding to iTunes and I have the latest update. I plug it in and it begins to sync, then stops with no reason why. Is there a way this can be fixed?

Why is my iPod not syncing to iTunes when i have the latest update?

Seems, iTunes can't read your backup anymore. Copy the backup folder to a safe place before you delete the latest backup from the list in iTunes/Preferences/Devices
The folder where your backup data is stored changes depending on the computer's operating system. Since iTunes only keeps one backup per device, you should ensure the backup folder is included in your periodic data backup routine.
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: If you do not see the AppData or Application Data folders, you may need to show hidden files (Windows XP,  Windows Vista and Windows 7), or iTunes may not be installed in the default location. Show hidden files and then search the hard drive for the Backup directory.

After you deleted the backup from the list, try again to sync.

  • My 4th Generation iPod Touch is not recognized by my ZS-S4iP Boombox? Anyone had this problem?

I received a ZS-S4iP Boombox as a gift. It would not recognize my iPod Touch 4th Generation, so I took it back  to the store for and exchange. But the new one is not recognizing it either. It will play two different Nano gererations. Any suggestions?

    Hi Regina,
    Welcome to Sony Community!
Make sure that iPod Touch 4th generation is updated to the latest software version. Since, other two Nano generation iPods are working fine with the Boombox, there seems no issue with it. The issue may be with iPod Touch 4th generation.
    Thank you for your post.

  • 2nd Generation iPod touch will not turn on

My 2nd Generation iPod touch will not turn on.  I have held the lock button down for up to 30 seconds and it remains a black screen.  When I put it on the charger, the screen usually shows the battery amount, but it will not do that either.  I checked the battery about 10 minutes before it began this, and it was about 75% charged.  There is no way it could be dead.  It will not even show the apple, as if it were powering on.

    - Connect the iPod to your computer.  If iTunes sees the iPod restore the iPod.
    - Next see if resetting the iPod will make the iPod visible so you can restore the iPod.
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next see if recoverymode  will make the iPod visible.  For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
