Hay thank you for your time . I do that every time I know I am online. It says that I am up to date . I have found that I have 10.4.11 version, and that my boot version is 10.6.2, and that my kernel version is 8.11.1.
I have a hard drive icon on my desktop that says 10.6.2....
I use to have iphoto, it doesnt open anymore, it says there is 1.2gigs on that disk. There are many things on here that are the same way. Where do I start?
It's always good to go with one thing at a time and stay focused on that. Let's start with the OS you're running. Click on the Apple menu > About This Mac. What does it say under Mac OS X version ?

  • Adobe digital editions will not finish downloading ebook  even after double clicking on hard drive .

ADE will not download and open the ebook automatially. After locating the .ascm (ebook) file on the hard drive and double clicking on that, it still will not open in ADE.

I did all that and after I close the ADE and double click on the file, ADE opens right up and it looks like it is downloading (very fast), but nothing shows up in the ADE.
How do I only get emails from you and not all the other people on the discussion?

Right click on the ACSM file or option click and go to Open With and select Other.  You can then navigate to your Adobe Digital Editions and set the file to open with that. I would then recommend closing Digital Editions, if you have it open, and try double clicking the file.  If Adobe Digital Editions opens then the file association is still correct.  If you continue to have difficulties then I would recommend contacting the vendor you obtained the e-book from.

  • My itouch will not finish downloading this iBook

A couple days ago I was able to download iBooks, but when I started this one it wont get off the downloading screen and the bar wont even budge. I can't figure out why after google searching and trying different answers, and no, rebooting doesnt work. Any ideas?

Ditto.  I bought a book.  It downloaded to my iPad.  It has been downloading on my iPhone for weeks.  Can't delete it, have reinstalled iBooks only to have book appear again and start downloading but never completes.
If I move to my PDF screen and back to the books screen, the blue bar goes back to 0% and it just sits there.  When I try to go download it from the store again, it says it has been downloaded.
I tried to sync with iTunes and install book from iTunes, but it will not install teh book and continues to try to download the book and never finishes.
Nothing has helped.  Restarted iPhone, deleted iBooks, tried to install from iTunes, tried to download a free book, book is still stuck on download and won't stop.  Major confusion on why this is such a problem, and not an uncommon one.

  • The app I want to download from the cloud will not finish downloading and keeps restarting.

I tried to update the I Am T-Pain 2.0 app, but the update failed. I tried starting the download process over and over again, but it would not download. I had experienced a similar issue before so I deleted the app and the temporary files from the download and tried downloading the app from iCloud. It didn't work. The download will start all over when it is about to finish. Really annoying.

Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to resume the download.
And you did try rebooting like this? Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons

  • Apps will not finish downloading

Ok. I have reset this iPad 3 times. There are no podcasts or anything else stuck downloading, yet it gets 2/3 through downloading and starts again and never install. I even tried to download the new ios6 and it gets 90 percent complete and kicks out with an error.

    One thing that might help.
On your computer, open itunes and click on store at the top of itunes.
Now choose check for available downloads.
Once the Apps that you purchased finish downloading, then you can connect the iphone and sync them to the iphone.
    Hope this helps.

  • App will not finish downloading

Bought the application Trism on the iPhone. The problem started when the app didn't finish downloading, but its icon was stucked with the download progress bar halfway. However, after a sync, the program is fully installed in iTunes.
Tried to delete the app on the iPhone, but the cross never popped up for this icon.
Using the AppStore on iPhone, it says the program is already downloaded when trying to redownload it.
Now the app icon has totally disappeared on the iPhone...is it just hidden somewhere on the phone?

I have this same problem. Happened with a soduku application. The icon is hidden and when you try to moving something in it's place, it will flicker for a split second. Battery started nosediving ever since, too. It's dead by noon now. I haven't figured out how to get rid of it yet.

  • HT1657 movie will not finish downloading

half way through movie it stops. I have connection. any suggestions?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you are in the US, try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

  • Adobe will not finish downloading, stops at 5%

I downloaded the installer about a month ago and have been trying to install the collection ever since. Every time I am able to get the installer up and running, it does the little 4hr collection upload thing, then asks for me to enter my serial number. After I have enetered the serial number (I am downloading online, not from a disc) the download will go to 5%, one time 10%, and stay there for however long I have patience for, which is about two to three days of no progress whatsoever. Now, my internet connection is being hooked up via ethernet cable in hopes this would help the download.. our internet speed is 6mbps with AT&T is that makes a difference. I am not using the bandwith for anything but this download and everything on the new computer is closed except for this install.
Just trying to figure out how to install this.. Thanks for the help.

Straighten out your terminology: What is not working? The download or the install? In the latter case install logs may be a start, but you realyl need to tell us a lot more, including some basic system information...

  • Itunes will not finish download

    Hello,
I click on download itunes, put in my email address, click download again.  The download box pops up and I click "Run" when I'm prompted the next two windows.  After that, a progress bar comes up by itself and it shows the bar go all the way across as if it were complete, and then nothing happens from there.
In the programs list, the actual iTunes program does not show, but the iTunes installer package does.  I have tried removing the iTunes installer package but get a message saying "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable".
I'm running Windows XP Home Edition
    Thanks in advance

I have done all of these things multiple times, at least twice before I opened the Help Desk Ticket.  No change after doing the process.
This was a reply to an earlier "Help Desk" person
    Yousuff,
I followed your instructions to no success. The exact same two episodes refuse to download, with the exact same conditions I reported. I do IT for a NASA contractor so I understand the support process companies use & getting through the beginning troubleshooting process for remote users, so let's move on.
    1) I don't see the issue as related to downloads being enabled or marked finished 38 other items successfully came down before & after my initial issue.
    2) The problem is repeatable with the exact same results.
    3) My machine has been shutdown since yesterday morning. I booted it, launched iTunes & am now in the same state as before, both episodes stuck @ 1.8 mB in the download & it will stay in this state until I restart iTunes, now matter how long I wait.
    4) My machine is running Mavericks & iTunes is 11.1.3 (8). Our internet provider is Comcast. My mini is on a wired network.

  • My iTunes movie rentals will not finish downloading

I started to download movies and two of them stopped near the end of the download saying error in download.  The last one completed. How do I get them to finish downloading.  I tried over and over to restart but that didn't work

My new large iMac has the same problem. Plenty of disk space, so that is not the problem. Latest versions of OS X 10.6.8 plus a new AppleTV unit which seems to be installed correctly as it works on everything else, including previews of movies, but for my 1st attempt to use all this new equipment I tried to rent 2 movies and both had the same answer; "an error occured in the iTunes store - try again later Error code - 42110" Well I tried later and then later, and then the next day, but no luck. The movies are still sitting there in the download area of iTunes with the message "1.13GB of 1.13GB -stopped" and the other has "1.23GB of 1.23GB -stopped". I cannot access them and yet the charge has gone through to our account. Seems like they both fell over at the last hurdle - download seems to have been completed, but cannot access them.
Can someone from Aplle please help. Most frustrating!

  • PDF files in iBooks will not finish downloading

I have attempted to download several PDF files in iBooks but they won't finish downloading and I cannot delete them. What do I do?

Update on this problem, I just added a pdf to ibooks to see if a new one would open, all the old ones are gone now, bummer and not so good.  I am going to do a synch tomorrow and see if I can recreate the problem, have a feeling this is an issue with synching?

  • I have an macbook air and iPad 2. Then I upgraded to OS X YOSEMITE everything when downhill . it will not finish downloading and could not even used my FaceTime . Help pls.

    To Whom It May Concern,
I have a MacBook Air, Ipad 2 everything was fine. Then I upgraded it to OS X Yosemite , everything when downhill, can not even use FaceTime . i have tried everything. Can somebody help me out on this please. Thank you.

Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    4. Reinstall Yosemite: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall OS X from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
    5. Reinstall Yosemite from Scratch:
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
How to Clean Install OS X Yosemite
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
