TS1702 safari crashes on ipad 3

Just bought the iPad 3 because our original one crashed so often when using safari. About a hour out of the box it crashed 3 times when on facebook. Did I waste my money?

  • Safari crashes on ipad all the time

    Hello,
Safari crashes all the time on my ipad all the time.  I've cleared caches, history and cookies many times. I've cleared the entire ipad and reloaded it as a new ipad setup and it still crashes.  Any suggestions?  It is frustrating.
    Looking forward to answers,
    Beth

I've also restarted several times.  I don't remember when it started, but it's been doing this for many months now.  Apple store techs did not help me.

  • Safari crashes on iPad after ios 5 update

Anyone elses Safari crash constantly after updating your iPad 1 to IOS 5?  Try surfing Apple's own website.  Thanks

I switched all the iCloud merged options to off in settings. so far that seems to be preventing the constant crashes on my iPad 1.
100 pct correct -- though even better I was able to narrow it down to one simple thing: bookmarks sync in iCloud.
Turn that off, problem goes away.
Then turn it back on, still no problem.  Problem gone, syncing on.
Maybe something unique for me, maybe not.  I'd be interested if that works for anyone else in this discussion.

  • Safari crashing on Ipad Air

My Safari keeps crashing on Ipad Air, is there a fix?

Sorry, a reset, etc., will not fix this problem. I and others here have been having constant problems with Safari crashing ever since iOS 7 first came out. In my case, as I've posted here, I've had this with iPad 2, iPhone 5, and now brand new iPad Air.  I have reset, cleared, reinstalled, restored, etc., you name it.  Nothing fixes this problem, which is clearly a major bug in iOS 7. Please let Apple hear from you about this problem through feedback directly to Apple:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/
There are numerous discussion threads here about the problem. Here's one of the two I started: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23889005#23889005

  • [iOS5] Safari crashing at iPad 2

    Hi everybody,
safari crashed very often at my iPad 2 since I updated it from iOS4 to iOS5. There are no warnings, nothing. This happened at the Safari Browser and all other browser that use the engine from the safari browser (Atomic Web Browser,...). Only the Opera Browser works correctly (the only browser with an other engine).
An update to iOS 5.0.1 doesn't solve the problem. Has anyone else this problem too?
    Greetings Tim

Some problems have been introduced with the iOS 5 Safari browser. It does crash more often then before. There is likely nothing that you can do to solve this problem.
Report your problem with details to Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

  • Resolution for safari crashing on iPad 2

After going a year without a single crash, two weeks ago safari started crashing continuously. I searched the Internet for help and a resolution. Nothing helped and I didn't want to do a restore. I wasn't willing to give up so easily.
I know this subject has been beaten to death, but bare with me...
I do a lot of free sample forms, so I had autofil enabled. I noticed last night it started acting goofy. I started to panic thinking something was really wrong since now autofil was messing up on top of safari crashing. I did another search to see if this was a symptom others were experiencing along with the crashing or if it was just me. I found very few answers so...
I went into settings-safari and disabled autofil. I have not had one safari crash since. Not one, and I've been online for about 10 hours since disabling it. I'm going to delete my own information in contacts and create a new profile for myself for autofil then re-enable it. I'll let you all know how it goes. But hey, even if it starts crashing again, I can live without autofil if it means I don't have to deal with the constant crashing.
Give it a try, then let me know if it helped (that is, if you had autofil enabled to begin with). I hope this helps!
iPad, iOS 5.1.1, Safari crashing - there is help

Downgrading the iOS is not supported. In terms of Safari, you could try clearing its cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Safari crashes on iPad 1 with ios 5.0.1

After I upgraded my iPad 1 to iOS 5, it became very unstable, and I reported to apple and set to send all crash reports to apple... Yesterday I upgraded to ios 5.0.1 in hopes that it will fix crash issues, and looks like it didn't. Please let me know if your iPad crashes that much. For example, if I go to this URL, safari always crashes: http://www.stypi.com/hacks/13sentences

I am experiencing the very same issue. iOS 5 was always a little less stable than 4 on my iPad (1), but since I've upgraded to 5.0.1 Safari crashes constantly on sites I used to visit frequently without a problem, such as NYTimes.com. Please patch!
    I have tried
    - soft restart (holding buttons down til the Apple icon appears)
    - quitting all suspended apps
    - resetting network settings
To no avail.  Seems to be a memory management problem.

  • Safari crashing on ipad

I have ipad 2 purchased in April last year. Now since last few days, Safari keep crashing as soon as I try any website. Even Apple website does not last longer than few seconds. If Google opens, and if I search anything, it just crashes. Any help?
I have latest update already done for OS on it as well.

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cookies And Data and also Clear History

Other people have also suggested that turning off Cloud and gestures might help.

  • Safari crashing on iPad mini (with retina display).

I'm a 4 month owner of the iPad mini (with retina display). I really find it really disgusting that Apple knows their Safari (and other browsers Mercury & Chrome) on the iPad without warning keep crashing to the home screen. IOS 7.1. Apple exchanged my tablet for they said a new one? However, as soon as I started using it (an hour later) at home same thing, CRASH CRASH CRASH NO APPS INSTALLED!!!  There are reports of the same crashing also on the i5's...
I'm also on the web looking for a tablet replacement that does not require me to buy an app so I can view all flash without have to find a work around...

This post claims to have solved the same issue for the author:

  • Safari crashes on iPad 2

Safari regularly crashes on my iPad 2 (white screen, unresponsive). When I force quit the application (double tap on home button, then killing the app) and start Safari again, it is still unresponsive and all I see is a white screen. Only rebooting the iPad solves the problem.
Does anyone have a similar problem and what is the likely cause and solution?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Tap Settings / Safari. Clear the History, Cookies and Cache.
    Restart your iPad.

  • Safari crashes in iPad running iOS 5.0.1

Every so often while in Safari, my iPad screen goes black and returns to the home page.  When I reopen Safari, the previous page is still there.  This happens whether I am just surfing or pinching to make the screen bigger.  This just started happening within the last two months or so.  Thanks.

    If you still need help...
    Tap Settings > Safari
Tap Clear History then tap Clear Cookies and Data
    Now restart the device.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

IPad 1 Safari crashes frequently. I went to many Apple stores in different countries and each Apple staff member had their own different opinions with no help. I had upgraded my iOS to 5.1.1 and the Safari crashing started about one year after the upgrade and some Apple staff blame this- but this started one year later after the iOS upgrade. Recently at the Apple Store in Vancouver an Apple staff reset my computer (erased everything and sent to iCloud to reset the iPad) and I hoped this would fix the problem. IPad Safari still crashes. Short of booking an appointment for taking it for repair to Apple technicians which will cost me money can anyone help me to fix this Safari crashing.

    Hi,
You might have a 3rd party plugin that isn't compatible with Safari 4.0.4. Go here for help...
Safari add-ons can cause performance issues or other situations
If you are using a USB hub, try disconnecting and restarting with just your keyboard and mouse connected.
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
from the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
Mac OS: Web Browser Quits Unexpectedly or Stops Responding
Also, you could download and install the 10.5.8 combo update (PowerPC) available here.
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/MacOS_X_10_5_8_ComboUpdate
It contains fixes that might help. Then repair disk permissions.
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

iPad 1 Safari Crashes Constantly and getting worse day by day.  Has Apple come up with a solution?  Now I am hearing its also happening on the newer models.  My company is about to buy a lot of tablets and I will not recommend Apple anything until they fix the problem.  Granted 30 or 40 iPads is not a huge impact but i promise once the outside world hears about this BS things will change.  There are plenty of other tablets out there that do not have this problem.  At the very least we should have the option of rolling back to a stable IOS...

I have already tried all the things mentioned above as well as other things such as other browsers etc.  Its is obviously a problem with the hardware.  I also borrowed a brand new 4th gen iPad and it does the same thing.  Even after upgrading it to 6.01.  An occasional crash is one thing and can easily be waved off but this is clearly systemic and the problem appears to be related to graphical images and videos.  Both iPads are the 64gb versions, the only difference other than model is the iPad 1 has ATT cellular.  The new version is clean i.e no other APPs loaded other than what came with it.  I have 7 more coming but im seriously considering sending them back in favor of an Android tablet or the MS Surface.
