TS2771 My ipod touch gen 2 does not turn on and will not let me charge it.

My ipod touch gen 2 does not turn on and will not let me charge it.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My iPod Touch 4G cannot be turned on and is not recognized.

Okay, so, this is a long story, but I registered on this forum just to share it with someone, see if anyone had a similar problem.
A month or two ago, the home button on my iPod Touch 4G broke. Okay. So I started using that assistive touch feature. The one with the home button on the screen. Well, that's the background of this story. Let's get into the real meat.
This morning, there I am, waiting to get into class, watching a documentary on my iPod Touch. I grab my two-year old charging cable, plug it up on the PC I always use in class and move it around- it's so old, it needs to be at that right spot to charge up. Well, it starts charging, but once I unplug it and plug it again... something weird happens. With the PC. It gives me a "USB Device not recognized" error.
I thought the cable had finally gone pfft. Not a problem, I had a newer, better one back home. So I go back to watching my documentary- the device is working fine- and when it comes time to class, I press the lock button and put it back on my backpack. Fast forward five-six hours. Lunch time. I pull out my iPod Touch, press the lock button and... nothing.
Black screen. Nothing happens. No sound, no video. Okay, weird. I press the lock button again and again, and still, nothing happens. Maybe I need to turn it on? I hold onto the lock button, but it doesn't turn on or off. Maybe it needs to charge? I borrow a friend's cable, plug it up to a wall charger- the one from Apple- and... nothing happens. I take that cable, plug it up to a PC, and nothing happens. Except for the "USB Device not Recognized" error.
So that's where I am. I can't go to DFU mode cause my home button's borked up. Charging, pressing the lock button, reinstalling iTunes, nothing works. It just sits there. But I know it's not bricked up, because when I plug it up, it gives me that "USB Device not recognized" error.
I'm probably taking it to technical assistance tomorrow, but I'd at least like to hear if anyone had the same problem. All my stuff's there: my Things app with my homework stuff, my TV Show Tracker app, and while I did back app data to the iCloud, I'm not sure I can just put that data on my brother's iPod Touch. Help?

First try the following since it appears y have a computer problem:

  • HT1320 I have a new IPod Touch 5G, 32 gb and suddenly it will not turn on, and will not restore using UTunes.  Any help appreciated.

I have tried many times to restore my  new IPod Touch 5G in I Tunes and it will not allow me to do it.  My Ipod will not turn on at all even when on a fresh charge.  Only displays the arrow leading up to ITunes logo.  I have tried the method of holding the home button and on button and this does not work.  Any help appreciated.
My I Pod was working fine until the day I updated the software to 6.0.1.

  • My iPod 2nd Generation won't turn on and will not connect to any computer!

A few months ago I woke up one morning and tried to turn on my iPod 2nd generation. It wouldn't, so I thought that maybe it was just out of battery. I plugged it into my computer but it would not connect and charge. I tried pluging it in to many other computers and none of them worked. (I tried MACs and PCs) When this happened my warranty was already up. Now my parents want to bring it in to see what is wrong, WHILE THERE IS NO WARRANTY!!!!!!! I told them that it was a waste of time and money because we would have to pay to see what was wrong. If there is something wrong that is easy to fix great!, but if there is something really wrong with it and it is crazy expensive to fix we just waisted time and money. If there is something wrong but there is no way of fixing it we also wasted time and money!! I have explained all of this to my parents but they won't listen!!! Is it worth it to get it checked out or should I just keep trying to explain to them that it's a waste of time and money????   Help!!

If your iPod is still charging if you plug it to the adapter, let it charge for about 10min, then connect to your computer in recovery mode, explained in this article:
iOS: Unable to update or restore
If it does not charge, you'll have to get it serviced.
Apple can offer you a replacement device, but you'll have to pay for it:

  • IPhone is not turning on and will not be recognized in iTunes

My screen was cracked recently, and my iPhone was left outside for 6 hours in the early morning/morning hours. (6am-11am)
Device was not rained on, however, I think the elements (humidity, heat) may have affected the phone in some way because, when I brought my phone in and tried to turn it on, it would not power on. I figured the battery was dead so I charged for two hours without touching.
No battery charge/low battery/apple logo will appear on the phone. Phone will not charge and is also unable to be recognized in iTunes after attempt at connecting to the computer. No combination of lock button/home button pressing is getting a response.
I am not really in the position to take it in to get replaced as I do not think it is under warranty, or it's possible the warranty is expired if it is.
Is there any hope, or should I start my goodbyes?

If the hard rest isn't working then it sounds like its not going to turn on. Accidently damage isn't covered in you limited hard ware warranty. The iPhone 4 and below is 149$ to replace and iPhone 4s is 199$

  • Ipad will not turn on and will not register on Itunes

I clicked my Ipad on, it was sleeping, and it shut off.  I went ahead and tried to turn on afterwards but it froze on the black screen with the Apple logo in the middle.  I then tried to reset it by holding the home and power button for about 10 seconds.  The screen went blank and then the same thing happened where it froze with the Apple logo.  I let it die and after charging it I tried everything again.  Nothing different happened.  I let it die once more and now it will not seem to charge or even show up on Itunes.  I was hoping the update would work but I have not had a chance to before this new problem.

Depending on the computer, sure they can.
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/ipad.html
    Charging Tips
The quickest way to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter. When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge, but only when it's in sleep mode. Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.

  • Ipod touch will not turn on and will not connect to computer!

Help please!  I accidentally dropped my ipod the other day (it has dropped before and not been a problem) and now it won't turn on or connect to a computer.  I have googled it and tried everything!  It is still under warranty but unfortunately the warranty doesn't cover accidents. Any suggestions??

    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic. It could be that the water corroded the contacts so try to clean any corrosion from them.
    - Then charge overnight and try what you did before
    If still does not work:
