TS3074 updated iTunes on Vista on Jan 26, 2014 and iTunes will not open. First message "unable to locate component- MSVCR80.dll was not found" then "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes - Error 7 (Windows error 126)"
I even deleted iTunes losing all my data and thesame thing happened when I reinstalled iTunes, several times! Now I cannot use Apple TV. Frustrated.

I have the same problem as many other users: updated iTunes on Windows 7 on Jan 26, 2014 and iTunes does not open. Don’t feel like uninstalling all Apple software and then re-installing it as suggested, as I am on a terribly slow internet connection while travelling in the DR Congo.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

I have an itunes account on a pc running Windows Vista. After a failed update I can no longer open my itunes account. I receive 2 messages. The first says "unable to locate component MSVCR80.clll". Ther other is an error message which says "Error 7 (Windows error 126). It was suggested that reinstalling itunes might solve the problem. After doing so I receive the same messages. What now?

When I want to syncronize my photo's from my computer to my Ipad, I get the message "itunes photoprocessor was not installed correctly, please reinstall itunes, error 7"

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

After multiple installations of iTunes it can be frustrating when the issue isnt resolved. I was able to locate the following knowledge base article that specifically addresses the "Error 7" you are recieving.

The Resolution section has different steps depending on what version of the Windows Operating System you're using. Since it can be a bad installation of these Windows files, pay close attention to the instructions on repairing if the file already exhists.

After upgrading itunes it says ' itunes was not installed corectly please reinstall so i uninstalled everything apple : bonjour apple application support , quicktime ....., than installed itunes again nothing ! same message i'v tried dowload microsoft.net framework didden't help. I noticed that quicktime isent working either it says ' please install apple aplication support so i downloaded winrar opened the setup from itunes and installed apple aplication support . After searching on line, it seemed that this was a compatibility issue, and I might need .NET 3.5, which in turn seems to be part of SP2, but my autodownloads failed and the patch for downloading SP2 failed to install also.
Yeah, that'll be our issue. We'd better get you up to SP2 ... without it, you won't be getting any security updates now, so you'll possibly be a wee way behind on that front. (In the grand scheme of things, that's probably the more significant problem.)
Are you able to get SP2 in if you do a manual download of the System readiness tool? There's instructions for that in the Information for Advanced Users section of the following document:
