TS3274 I have a blue screen and the display colours have all run.

Dropped my iPad on its edge. No damage to the glad just a dent in the corner
However the screen turned blue and the apps
Look like X-ray photos with a bit of colour.
Backed up and restore to no avail.
Any idea? Or is it a new one required?

Boot your computer using the install disc (hold C after turning on the computer). Open Disk Utility and repair the disk and disk permissions.

    Hello hbothner,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you'd like to change the colors on your Mac's display, then you can calibrate your display by following the steps in the article below.

i connected my laptop to the tv and it has worked before. this time only the laptop flashes the blue screen and the tv is saying no signal. when i tried to check the dispaly arrangement it says this:The Arrangement tab of Displays preferences is hidden because you only have a single display attached to this computer.

It is not properly connected to the network.
Make sure location is set correctly
DNS should be on auto (settings - general - network)
    Try ethernet
Signal strength on device won't account for issues, you would need a network report from istumbler, netstumbler or similar. This will show accurate signal strength along with noise and nearby networks

  • My MacBook pro is less then a year old and when I try to shut it down it gives me the blue screen and the loading spinner but the doesn't do anything or shut down. I've already tried to reinstall Mac os x but that didn't work any ideas?

It stays on the blue screen forever until I manually shut it down

Cooper, please start a new thread.  You'll get a wider audience and won't confuse Quintonaturner  with issues that don't pertain to them.  You don't know they have Office.  Many Mac users don't.  http://www.neooffice.org is a nice alternative, and so is http://docs.google.com/ as long as you don't have Exchange servers that aren't Mac OS X Mail compatible.

  • IMac makes a loud beep on start up, won't load past the blue screen and the black ticking dial appears every few seconds in centre of screen.

    Urgent help!
Out of the blue my mac lost the mouse cursor even though it had connection so I rebooted only for the mac to make a loud beep on start up then get stuck at the blue loading screen. It won't load past the blue screen. I've tried to reboot holding down the shift key but no change. I've also shut down, unplugged the main for 15 seconds, re plug and wait 5 seconds before starting up again but no change. Does anyone have any suggestions?
PS: I'm not too sure which systems I am running without being able to check in about this mac. I bought my imac in January or February 2011 if that helps.

The power on self-test resides in the ROM of the computer. This test runs whenever the computer is turned on after being fully shut down (the power-on self-test does not run if the computer is only restarted).
If a fault is detected during the test, you will not hear a normal startup chime. Instead, the system will beep as explained below. If you experience one of these beeps, you may call your Apple Authorized Service Provider for additional troubleshooting assistance.
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable

  • Blue Screen and Mini Display Port Screens

I have a Macbook Air 2011 model, it will connect fine to any Thunderbolt displays but as soon as it's plugged into a screen with the mini display port connector, the laptop will get stuck on a blue screen until it's disconnected, and as far as I know it should be compatible with both types
Usually a PRAM reset will resolve it, but it hasn't and attempted an SMC reset plus a Firmware update, no change either
    What else can I try?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
If you experience a black screen, or otherwise have an unusable picture after changing to some resolutions, try resetting the NVRAM first.
If you continue to experience the issue, startup the Mac in Safe Mode.  Delete the /Library/Preferences/com.apple.windowserver.plist file and restart the Mac.
If the problem persists you may have a bad adaptor.

  • Mac starts up but won't get past the blue screen and the rainbow wheel

I had this problem before a couple of years ago. The hard drive had to be replaced. Now I'm just trying to start it up so I can back up data. I reinstalled OS 10.4 last week, it started OK a couple of times. Now it won't go to the log-in screen again.
I know I can reinstall OS 10 again but isn't there a command key I can hold down while it's starting up that will let me log in?
Also it makes that long BEEP sound when I start it up. What does that mean?
Finally, I do not have an emergency troubleshooting guide. I don't think I ever had one. Can I download a .pdf of that somewhere?

    Possibly...

  • Blue Screen and restarting

Hi, a friend bought me a Iphone 5S A1533 from Dubai Free Shop Airport. It came with iOS 7.0.4 and works perfectly the first hours, the problems started when i update it to iOS 7.1. Since then when i lock the phone goes off and the only way to turn it on was conecting it to Itune and restore it. But the last time it works fine and didnt have problems since now. First while was ussing safari i get a blue screen and the phone restarts. Hours later I downloaded some aplications and when i tried to unlock the phone, the blue screen appears again.
There is some way to fix it by my own?, since there is no Apple Store in Argentina to use the warranty.
    Sorry for my bad english.
    Diagnostics

    Hello jackhandy234,
I have a white iPhone 5 running on the latest IOS 7.0.4 and I am having a similar problem. I have had my phone for about 6 months now and have had it always well protected in a sturdy case similar to an otter box case. I have had no problems with the phone until 2 nights ago.
While on the messaging app "kik" My phone froze up, vertical pixalated lines appeared,it faded into a black screen, shut down and automatically turned on again. It repeated this "glitch" while powering back up about 3 times. Finally after having to manually restart it by pressing the power and home button for 5-6 seconds it stop.
After going back to using my phone, not 5 mins past, and it was "glitching" up again. In the past 48 hours it has glitch over 26+ times. Everytime I need to use my phone for more then 5 mins I need to manually reset it.
If you have found a solution to your problem, please post it because it could possibly solve mine.

  • PCI-GPIB Card with Visual Basic gives blue screen and re-boots PC

The application makes the "ibsic" call then "ibln" to find devices on the bus. Running the VB program the first time is fine, but if you end the program and re-run a second time, you get a blue screen and the PC reboots when the program reaches the lines that make the first call to the NI-488 functions. If you close out of VB and then restart VB, everything is OK again.
    What is wrong?

    Hi,
Here's an article that describes the most common blue screen when using VB:

You won't lose any data unless you erase your hard drive.
Put your install DVD into the optical drive and reboot. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c"key on your keyboard (or the Option key until the Install Disk shows up). That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Choose your language and press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Disk Utility and click it.When it comes up is your Hard Drive in the list on the left?
If it is then click on the Mac OS partition of your hard drive in the left hand list. Then select the First Aid Tab and run Repair Disk. The Repair Disk button won't be available until you've selected the Mac OS partition on your hard drive. If that repairs any problems run it again until the green OK appears and then run Repair Permissions.

If you try all these Steps and you still have issues... Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step... Be sure to make an appointment first...

  • I have a PB G4 that won't start. It shows the gray apple screen, shows the blue screen, and then the screen goes black, and "sleep" light pulses.

I have a PB G4 that won't start. It shows the gray apple screen, shows the blue screen, and then goes black. The sleep light pulses. From there, I can't turn it off normally. I have tried restarting the PMU. And I have tried unplugging the ac adaptor and removing the battery. From there I have plugged only the ac adaptor in, and it will begin to start but do the same thing once it shows the blue screen.
I tried only using the battery (without plugging in the ac adaptor) and the same thing happens. I tried starting the computer while holding down CTRL, Option, P, and R, waiting to hear the start up chimes 3 times, and then holding Shift as it starts up. But I still get the black screen once I see the blue one, and the computer's sleep light pulses.
I need something very important from this computer. And was able to start it last night. I did not shut down the computer, and was going to take it to a friends to use his printer today. The computer was in sleep mode in the morning.
    Thanks for any help!
    Gina

What your describing could be a logic board or memory issue.
You did or did not hear 3 startup chimes?  If you hear 3 chimes when you start it, that would indicate a memory problem.  Try reseating the memory to see if that makes a difference. If you have 2 RAM cards, try one then the other in each slot. If you have 1 RAM card, move it to the other slot. Powerbooks can develop one bad slot.
You may need to pull the hard drive out of the Powerbook, put it into an external case, then read it from another mac.
