Please don't fire off an answer like this when you alreay said you were "not familiar with exchange accounts". This actually has nothing to do with his ISP. The 8 - 10 mb files you send, I am assuming are not from exchange accounts, seeing as though you are not familiar with them.
In fact, this IS a problem with Mail. It has been going on for quite some time. It has to do with Mail interacting with MS exchange 2007 servers.

Hi ABAPers,
I managed to send excel attachment using FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1.
Let say I send it to my own email account.
But, when try to open the excel document, from lotus notes, there is warning message produced by the microsoft excel saying:
"The file is not in a recognizable format.
and so on....."
Anyway, when I click button 'OK', excel sheet will be opened and no information lost.
How can we code the abap program so that the message will not come each time I open the attachment from my lotus notes?
Or this is just the tab delimited issue?

Perhaps you could be more specific: any .doc file written in Mac OS is opened with difficulty? what version of Office on mac and what version in windows? any format, e.g. .doc or .rtf? Even a simple rtext of, say, 2-3 pages? or only long docs, e.g. 100 pages or more? what language is used? English or any other West European, Latin based text, or other scripts too? What do you understand by ‘people have a hard time opening it with a PC?’ takes a very long time? or does not open at all? etc. etc.

First of all quit the mail app and all of the apps that have frozen. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on the mail app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the app. Close the other apps the same way. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
What I would try next is to delete the email on the server in your web mail account using Safari or another browser. Then when you go back to the mail app - if it opens ok - and the if mesaage is still there in the inbox - swipe on the mesaage - left to right - in the list on the left side - and hopefully the red delete button will pop up. Hit delete to remove it from the inbox. Do the same thing when you go to your trash folder in that email account - swipe the message to delete it.

In Mail preferences under composing tab, check to see what you have for sending new messages from.
You can also check the account settings and make sure you have the correct SMTP server for each account and the correct settings for each. Also check the box to use only that server for the account so it doesn't switch to another accounts server without asking if there is a failure with one.

Any clue, how i can add a mail account to apple mail app, but with separate password / pin to open it.
Years ago there was a program called mail switcher which added this functionality, but thats gone.

They would have to be logged in as separate users in order not to see your account in Mail. Whatever accounts put in Mail under your account will show up. All mail accounts usually have there own user and password. The only thing you can do is to remove the password from Keychain and take the account offline so you don't keep getting prompts for passwords each time it checks for mail.
Not a great solution.
Best way is to give the other user their own user account with their own mail and enable fast user swithcing to log between the different users if all access the computer frequently.

My bookmarks, on a HP Pavilion dv-7-2273cl notebook, are saved yet the page icon is still displayed after using the bookmark instead of the actual icon for the website. I have followed the directions for "Favicons do not display" without any success. This problem is not experienced on my much older Gateway desktop.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

I have (as far as I know) the latest version of mail.app and just upgradted OSX to 10.6.3. Got the msg "You have Mail version 4.2 (1077/1078). It can't be used on Mac OS X Version 10.6.3 (Build 10D573). For more information, click the Help button"

My update of OS X to 10.6.3 made mail.app (v. 4.2 1078) unusable.
Connections to receive mail timed out repeatedly. This happened on both POP and
IMAP accounts.
I tried to rebuild mailboxes/indexes, delete preferences, etc. Nothing worked. I set up new
accounts and had the same problem. I tried other email clients (Thunderbird and Seamonkey)
with existing and new accounts and had the same problem.
I set up Seamonkey running on a Vista machine on the same network with the same account
information as on the Mac and it worked fine.
I reinstalled the last OS update (10.6.3) again, no change.
I finally reinstalled the OS from the installation DVD. Now running OS X v. 10.6 and mail.app
v. 4, and after a slow startup (caching attachments from the IMAP account) everything seems to
be back to normal.
Besides the various email clients, no other applications seemed to be affected by the 10.6.3 update.

Welcome to the Apple community.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID, verify the changes, enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone".
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, verify it once again, delete the iCloud account from your device and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

Thank you! Thank You! Thank You!!! I have been arguing with Comcast for 6 months on this. They told me to uninstall and reinstall Firefox. Then I found this website and there was my solution. It worked. It was annoying that they told me to use internet explorer. The worst part is I pay them monthly. Well, as soon as my contract is up, I am done with Comcast. They still haven't figured out why my favorite stations aren't coming in. Funny thing is my roommate has Direct t.v. with no problems. At half the price. See ya Comcast. Sending binary attachement using UTL_SMTP

I am attempting to send a .PDF or Word .DOC as an attachment to an email through PL/Sql procedure. Using UTL_FILE to open the file and looping through the file using UTL_FILE.GET_RAW to extract a line then using UTL_SMTP.WRITE_RAW_DATA(conn,UTL_ENCODE.BASE64_ENCODE(<raw data>)) to write the file. I did get an email with the attachment, but when attempting to open the attachment, it cannot because it is corrupt in some way!??!

I agree that this is misleading.
You can use DBMS_LOB.LOADFROMFILE to read a file into a BLOB. You can then use DBMS_LOB.READ to read from the BLOB to a RAW.
You can then use the RAW data to build the attachment portion of the email.

I have the same issue and I'm trying to access the link provided for the AOL Community Support. I was able to type my question, but it keeps asking me to provide my date of birth, gender, and my name (for verification purposes). After filling out that little box multiple times, my question has still not been posted to the forum. Also, I was able to use Google Chrome to send email attachments through AOL with no problems.
