First man up and admit, that itunes does not suggest, but tells you that update is available and you made a
decision to download and update. Once you man up - think if you still under warranty. If that is not security
software according to the link provided, it is hardware. So second try another network, may be your network
has additional security or firewall. And third decide if it worth to you pay 149 for that phone or get it replaced.
Unless your 3gs under warranty.

    Edit: To see whether you actually have Norton installed launch Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder. If it's installed you'll likely see some Norton entries there.
    Also, in System Preferences>Users & Groups or Accounts, depending on OS)>Login Items, it might be listed.

    IIf you are trying to activate a phone and it is asking for a previous users Apple ID and password you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature to prevent lost or stolen iPhones from being activated By an unauthorized individual. You must contact the previous owner to either get the Apple ID and password or have them remove the phone from Find My iPhone. If you cannot contact the previous owner you will not be able to activate the phone.

    After I upgraded my bookmarks were gone so I followed the link to go back to the previous version in the forum and my bookmarks did not return. I have looked through the "lost bookmark" directions but I don't have the add-on listed to update and it doesn't tell you what to do if you don't have that add-on.

    Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.
    You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox Profile Folder.

    Best option: Restore from your back up
    Next best: Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

    Firefox tells me an update is being installed. I see the dots moving. I exit everything else and wait for the update to complete.
    It goes on for several hours showing the dots moving. Apparently, nothing is really happening. I shut the computer down when I go to bed. When I reboot, I see the same thing, and get the same results. I've checked the help database, and the previously asked questions, but can't find anything. Any suggestions?

    I'm having the same problem. I have checked the status and it says the location of the song is in iCloud. When I click on the cloud next to the song, not thing happens. It's been like that for 3 days. It does say it's "waiting"

    I have this exact same issue.  Replaced my iPhone 4s with the new iPhone 5s, setting up my new iPhone 5s to restore from iCloud.  This completed and now I am unable to delete my old iPhone 4s iCloud backup (consuming 15.1 GB of my 20GB allocation).  How can I delete it, so that I get my 15 GB back?  I am not going to invest in additional iCloud storage, because I will be 15 GB down from the off.

    Every time I try to restore my iphone from icloud it says, "unable to back up from icloude because wireless connection interrupted".  My phone is plugged in and connected to wi-fi...I also tried having my iphone plugged into my computer while backing up.  Neither worked.  What do I do?

    Is your iPhone have a strong Wi-Fi connection? Have you tried testing on another Wi-Fi network?

    If you receive an alert during the restore, be sure to note the text of the message, and cross reference it in the Alert Message matrix in the fifth major section of this article. 
    Keep in mind that restoring is dependent on being connected to the Internet, so the faster your connection, the faster your restore will be. However, even with a fast broadband connection, it can often take around 1-4 hours per gigabyte to complete a foreground and background restore. If you are traveling between countries, you may need to allocate even more time. iCloud is tuned to provide you with the best service in the geographical location you most frequently connect from, and in regards to iCloud Backup, the geographical region you created the original backups from.
    If you receive connection errors, or timeouts, while restoring, you should verify your device has a valid connection to a fast Wi-Fi network and that it's plugged into a power source.     As noted earlier, you will receive prompts for your Apple ID and other passwords. This is normal. When you are restoring to a device that you have already backed up from, you should receive fewer prompts to re-enter passwords, but if you are restoring to a new device, it is expected that you will have to re-enter your passwords again. This is done to preserve the integrity of your accounts.
