pls help me been trying to install ios 7 to my ipad 2, but this erroor always occurred "an error occurred installing IOS 7.0.4
If your iPad screen is frozen with that message on it, try rebooting your iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Which way are you trying to update? WiFi or iTunes? In either case, I would try restarting/rebooting all devices and then try again.
IF you are using iTunes, eject your iPad, quit iTunes, reboot your computer and reset your iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons until the Apple logo appears on the screen. After the iPad starts up, connect to iTunes and try again. You may also want to disable your firewall and antivirus software when you try to update using iTunes. Sometimes those will interfere with the download.
If you are using WiFi, reset the iPad as described above and try again.
If WiFi updating will not work, try using iTunes, if iTunes will not work, try using WiFi. -
Ever since iOS 5.1.1 came out, I have been trying to install it to my iPad 2. It is downloaded but I get the "Unable to Install Update" screen which says, "An error occurred installing iOS 5.1.1" but no other information is provided. Do I have to do a complete restore to get this to install?

If you did the update through iTunes, try going into the Settings App on your iPhone and doing the Software Update in there. The same thing happened to me, and the wireless update worked.

I am trying to update my ipad2 to ios 8.0 without using using iTunes. Update simply fail with a indication as ' error occured installing Ios 8.0', i have tried deleting the update file and downloading it again but still the same error. Current ios version is 7.1.1.
please let me know if same issue has been faced before and any probable fix for it.

You may encounter the following symptoms while updating or restoring your iPad:
iPad continually restarts but never displays the Home screen.
An update or restore did not complete and the iPad is no longer recognized in iTunes.
iPad stops responding, showing the Apple logo with no progress bar or a stopped progress bar, for over ten minutes.
If this occurs, you can place iPad into recovery mode and attempt to restore again. If iTunes displayed an alert with an error code, see this article before attempting the steps outlined here.

There is no such thing as an iPhone 's3'. There is a 3G which can only be updated to iOS 4.2.1 and a 3GS which can be updated to iOS 6.1.3.

Without a specific error message it'll make diagnosing the problem difficult.
So, my guess is that there could possibly be security software blocking things.
Check firewalls, virus software, etc... - even switching them off temporarily. -

If you are trying to update your iPhone over-the-air rather than through iTunes, and you are having issues with installing it, then I'd like you to please follow the steps outlined below.
If you get a message that "an error occurred downloading iOS," try again later. If the issue persists, try updating your device in another network or use iTunes to update your device. Learn more about iOS updates.
Update does not complete
If you're installing the update and the progress bar appears to move slowly, be patient. The time an update takes depends on the size of the update and the number of files on the device.
When you're updating over the air, keep your device connected to a power source so that it doesn't run out of power. If your device does run out of power, connect it to a power source and turn on the device to let the update or restore complete.
If the update never completes and the progress bar hasn't moved for an extended time, try restarting your device. If you still see the issue after you restart, see what to do if your device appears frozen or won't start.
