I keep getting an error message saying my network connection has timed out when I try to download the iphone 5 software to my iphone 4 while it's connected to my laptop. Then it says make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active. The download gets all the way to the end (takes about an hour mind you), and keeps timing out. It's error 3259. FYI, I have the latest version of iTunes.
Security software on your computer/router is the usual cause of this. Turn off/disable or uninstall all anti-virus software & firewalls. Try again.

Am trying to update to 5.0 from 4.2.1 and keep getting an error message "There was a problem downloading for iphone. The network timed out. What do I do ?

I am trying to update to iOS5 on my iPad 2, but after the download completes, and file processing starts, I get an error message "There was a problem downloading the software ... the network connection timed out." Diagnostic tests check out OK. Any suggestions?
Temporarily disable your firewall and security software and see if that helps.

I keep getting an error messahe that says
There was a problem connecting to the server. URLs with type "file" are not supported
Any ideas?Actually, in my case, turning off Time Machine didn't work. I had the same problem. We definitely traced it to Time Machine. The "Fix" was this: plugged in and designated different external HD as Backup volume. Then unplugged it and plugged in the original disc (after testing in in a different machine) and now the computer recognized it and error message stopped popping up. The Apple tech was as puzzled as I as to why this worked, but perhaps, forcing the machine to re-recognize it (or maybe even, gettting it recognized by a different machine first) somehow worked some magic.

After loading Lion, I have been getting an error message "There was a problem connecting to the server. URLs with the type "file:" are not supported." There does not seem to be any actual problem with internet connectivity, but it is persistent and annoying. Any idea of its cause and treatment?

I have an iMac G4 with AirPort with OS 10.4.11 installed. I keep getting an error message "There was an error joining the AirPort network "ATT5216." I called ATT U-verse - they were stumped. Any suggestions?
I checked for the IP address, and I'm not pulling one
up.
That's the problem. Even with no base stations available you should eventually within a few minutes get a self-assigned IP of 169.x.x.x!

Maybe you could manually configure an IP but that doesn't answer what's wrong. How about a simple test - create a new Location in Network System Preferences and see if that helps. If it doesn't then maybe a re-install of Airport or System software would help. If the Airport shows up as an available network port then the card is probably OK. -
I keep getting this error message: ITunes was unable to load data class information from Synch Services. Reconnect or try again later. What does that mean? Can I fix it? or do I have to wait for the next update?
See TS2690: iTunes for Windows: "Unable to load data class" or "Unable to load provider data" sync services alert.

I am trying to install iTunes, but keep getting this error message. Help!!
Cannot access network path
\\Arollins\c$\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\prof.
Anyone ever come across anything like this?
I've had iTunes on this computer before, but tried to update and this happened. Are you saving the installer first and then installing, or are you running the installer directly from Apple's website? Also save first.
If you're saving first and still having issues, try and use Microsoft's Cleanup Utility and then reinstall Quicktime/iTunes:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Make sure it's a new and fresh download from:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If not mentioned in the articles, make a new user account in Windows and see if iTunes opens. That will tell you if there's something funky in your main account (if the new user works), or if you have a system-wide issue. -

T400: Error Message - There was a problem connecting to the TPM
Hi,
I'm a new ThinkPad user. I just got my T400 about a week ago, and I'm a fan of it right away. But there's this one little thing that really annoys me. The second day I used my laptop I got this error message: "There was a problem connecting to the TPM (Security Device) on this computer," and I've received this message since then, every time I turn on my laptop. What does it mean? And how do I get rid of this error message? Thanks!
Moderator note: Type + error message added to subject line for clarity.

Solved!
Go to Solution.go into bios and check whether the TPM is activated or deactivated in the BIOS. Make sure it is on. If the problem persists then call Lenovo, could be a hardware level problem.
