Sorry, downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple, thus there is no official way to do so. Your phone was re-locked to the carrier it was originally locked to because you hacked it to unlock it. Apple's servers detected such & re-locked your phone. You need to contact the carrier your phone is locked to if you want to get it officially unlocked.

You need to contact the cell carrier it is locked with. If you don't know the carrier call AppleCare and give them the model and serial number.

- Simply turn your phone off and back on again
- Hold down your home button and your lock button and let goes as soon as the screen goes black (Phone will power down) - Then turn on your phone and hey presto!
- Back up your iPhone to your PC, then restore it..
this ones last cause I think you may have tried it already..
- Close all open applications

I have an older iPhone (3gs) and need to upgrade to a newer phone (4S). I need to get my NOTES, CALENDAR, CONTACTS, PICTURES, etc backed up on iTunes so I can get that data loaded onto the new phone. But not sure how to do that. When I open iTunes it has a button that say "Back Up iPhone", but I'm not sure what that does. When I go into the sync options it say I have another user account and asks me if I want to merge of replace. I'm assuming it's trying to tell me I have an older iTunes Library, but don't know that. Geez, maybe people over 60 shouldn't have iPhones, iTunes just bafles me.

When you plug the phone into your computer, all iTunes content will be erased from the phone, as it should be. You want content, purchase your own.

Problem is I couldn't ever get it to go on silent. so I restored it back to not be unlocked and its stuck at the apple screen, will not turn on. No it is not. Jailbreaking, unauthorized unlocking, etc. void the warranty (and can be detected by Apple). Also, support for hacked iPhones is prohibited here by the forum Terms of Use. -
