TS3899 I am unable to view my Mail box on my ipad and my iphone, it keeps popping up with a message saying "connection to server has failed" Can anyone help?
This has only happened since I started using Icloud on my Ipad and Iphone!

I have tried deleted the email accounts registered to both my phone and ipad and reinstalling them. I've also switched off both devices by the hard reset. I've deleted all of my mail and I am still getting this 'the connection to server has failed' when i go into the mail app, and when i try to send an email it doesnt allow me either. The symptoms described a a bit different than what you describe but the troubleshooting is relevant.
Restart the iOS device.
Tap Safari and attempt to load a webpage to ensure that the device has Internet access. If you're unable to load a webpage, try the Wi-Fi assistant.
Try an alternative Internet connection.
If your email is provided by your Internet provider, try connecting from the home network.
If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, try to disable Wi-Fi: Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.
If not, try a different Wi-Fi network.
Log in to your email provider's website to ensure that the account is active and the password is correct.
Delete the account from Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and then add the email account again on the iOS device.
If you're still unable to send or receive email, contact your email provider and verify the account settings are correct. You will need to gather this information (PDF).
Additional Information
Using more than one device to check the same POP email account may create a lock-out issue that is easily resolved.

Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You will have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.
If nothing above helped, restart your router.
No data is lost due to a reset. -
My iphone keeps freezing, especially in the mail setting. The support center indicates i should go to settings, then general settings, and then to update software, but there is no "update software" selection under general settings. can anyone help? Thanks!

Ensure you have a active interenet connection, once thats verified and the problem still exists. Go into settings>Mail,Contacts,Calender click on the account in question, delete it, then re-add it.

TaniaGo to Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Tap the name of the email account. If you don't see a bar labeled "Advance" near the bottom, Tap Account. Tap Advanced. Under Incoming Settings, there should be an option to Use SSL. If it is ON, tap it to turn it off.

We are facing one issue here with shared mailbox ( helpdesk and servicedesk) . users are not able to view mails which marked as private to helpdesk ID
Symptom:- users having full access to shared mailboxes are unable to view private mails received in shared mailbox.

Essentially, the "owner" of the mailbox needs to grant "show all items, including Private, to my delegates".
I think MSFT introduced this change (to honour the Private flags) in OL2010, and earlier versions did not respect the Private flags.
(some customers want private to be properly private. other customers, don't want private to be private, if you know what I mean ;)

I keep trying to update my mail inbox but keep being told connection to the server has failed.
Quit the maill app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Or go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account >Mail>Off. Restart the iPad and go back to settings and turn mail on again and see if that works.
Or try this as well ....Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

i have mac 10.6.8 and safari 5.1.10. on checking help website i am told latest flash player 16.0.0.305 is already installed BUT does not appear on my list of applications and am unable to access websites requiring it. have also downloaded flash player installer app but unable to download the flash player itself. can anyone help? thank you!

Your version of Safari is still supported. Please see Adobe Flash Player | Tech specs for supported OS and browsers.
If the Flash Player plugin is in the Plug-ins (disabled) folder it's because it's an older version that Apple has disabled in Safari. This has nothing to do with whether or not Flash Player supports the browser.
I'm not sure what you mean by "when i click on flash player itself i am told there is no application to open it." Flash Player.plugin only works in the browser to view Flash content in the browser. The plugin does not open files outside of the browser. If you have SWF files you'd like to view outside of the browser, then you'll need the Flash Player projector. However, based on your previous comments this doesn't appear to be what you are trying to do.
Google Chrome does embed Flash Player in it, while Firefox does not. Mozilla has also recently started blocking older versions of Flash Player in Firefox similar to what Apple is doing in Safari.
Following the 'clean install' instructions should result in you having the latest version of Flash Player installed that will not be blocked by the browser.

Rudegar is so right, all you do is go the SETTINGS/iTunes & App Store, then select `Apple ID` `Sign Out` then you get the chance to enter your new ID, and it worked a treat!
Good luck with anyone else with this problem, as I spent so long on this, really stupid!

We are currently converting from 8i to 9i. I was finally able to get JDeveloper configured so that I could develop against iFS on 8i. I have done the exact same things configuring for 9i but I still get failed to get ResourcePropertyBundle. I have do
