TS3899 Mail Support

After I read my mail, the red number indicating how many new emails I have won't go away. How can I get that to go away?

No it changes as I delete emails from the inbox. It went away after like 40 the first time now it's at 32. It's only with one account I have set up on iPad.

HP e-mail support, Ticket no: 8028153835
I purchased my HP Photosmart 2610 all-in-one printer in 2005. It was previously installed on a HP Laptop, Windows XP, and all the features worked.
It is now on a PC running Windows Vista Ultimate 32. When I tried installing the printer software CD, it wouldn't load because of the Vista OS. I then loaded the HP Photosmart 2600 series full feature printer driver (Vista OS compatible) from the following HP website link:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-47754-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&...
Now I cannot get the Printing Preferences to allow Manually Duplexing (two-sided) printing. This option was available on the original printer software.
I've tried the solutions on: HP Image Zone Help / Two-Sided Prints which indicate:  Click the Finishing tab / In the Document options area / select the Print on both sides check box (this box is not available).
When I run the printer from the Control Panel as Administrator, the printer Properties / Device Settings show Manual Duplexing: Enabled.  When I go to the printer Properties / Advanced / Printing Defaults, neither the Finishing / Print On Both Sides check box is available nor will the Printing Shortcuts tabs allow the Print On Both Sides option to appear (only shows Print On Both Sides: Off).
HP e-mail support told me to install this patch to correct the problem:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/genericSoftwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-69848-1&cc=us&lc=en&...
When I try installing the patch, it won't load because it wants the original CD software. So I'm back to my initial problem of trying to load the original printer software that won't load because the CD is for Windows XP OS. I am at an impasse between the Software CD that I have, and what is available on the HP website.
    What is your solution?

Also, if it were, do you download the driver?
The driver is supplied through Windows Update.  Go to the Devices and Printers folder, Add a Printer, then select Windows Update.  It will take a few minutes to update the list, then the Deskjet 6500 series will be a choice under HP (not Hewlett-Packard).

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • E-mail support with work e-mail

Hello all Blackberry users!!  I got my blackberry Curve 8330 in April and recently my work has decided that it was against policy to have your e-mail go through a third party. Fair Enough.  Then they said people with Blackberry's will have to have their email deactivated because you have to sign up for BIS, which is an unsecure e-mail server that could potentially pose harm via our secure e-mails.
Well... when I did set up my phone in april, I didn't have a BES server and I didn't sign up for BIS.  I simply put in my e-mail and password and it found the webserver e-mail (https://....).  I was using it fine, even though messages would come in up to 10 min later.
So here's the big question for me and the other 80 people who are confused, even though we went through and just put our e-mail address and got the proxy server via https and didn't sign into a BIS account with Blackberry, is it technically going through the BIS servers?
I don't want to buy a new phone, I can't afford it and work doesn't care.  I don't want to do the wireless sync thing via laptop and have it push via a cable.  Any thoughts?

if you put in a server address with "https://" then you integrated OWA, which is through BIS
    example: https://companyname.org/exchange
if you touched the Email Settings icon on your phone, then you integrated through BIS
Here is some information about email security through BIS
    1. Email messages and instant messages
Email messages and instant messages that are sent between the BlackBerry® Internet Service and your BlackBerry device use the security
features of the wireless network. Messages that are sent between your messaging server and the BlackBerry Internet Service are automatically
encrypted if the server supports SSL encryption.
    2. Encryption of login information
When you log in to the BlackBerry® Internet Service web site using a browser on your computer, the BlackBerry Internet Service uses SSL
encryption to help protect your login information and any changes you make to your login information. This encryption is designed to protect
your user names, passwords, and other BlackBerry Internet Service account information from unauthorized access.
Email as a whole is one of the most unsecured portocols out there, The only way that your company could have secured emails is to only allow it on the intranet(internal tho the building) and not the internet(over the wide web). As soon they they expose their email to the internet it is unsecured, there is no encryption when sending over the web. It isnt possible for a BB to make it any less secure.  Might want to get some more info from your company IT department. BBs are one of the most secure devices out there.
There are 3 ways to get emails to a BB. BES, BIS, and Redirector(requires exchange, outlook and DTM to open at all times, does not support attachments)

I realize that I will have to deactivate the software, however, as I cannot get throght to Adobe (UK) will this prove problematic. It seems there is no e-mail contact for any support in the UK.

  • POP3 Yahoo Mail Support

I hope that someone can help me.  I'm an American living in Guangzhou, China.  I currently have an iPhone 3GS but the horrible battery life is making me regret getting the phone in the first place.  I've only had it for exactly 4 months and  while it's features are many, the battery life negates almost any of the features that made me buy it in the first place.
I was in an electronics mall the other day, here in China, and I was looking at Blackberry.  I played with the BB 9000 and liked what I saw - the biggest factor being the user replaceable battery.  After being in the store for what amounted to be an hour, (my Chinese girlfriend having to interpret everything for me) I was all set to purchase the handset, but then was told that I needed to purchase a separate service that amounted to 58 rmb per month in order to get my Yahoo mail to work on the device.  I simply want the device for email.  I can use my iPhone for all the other silly stuff that I want to do if I need to.  I ONLY need access to my Yahoo email, both send and receive - that's it.
The email setup for my iPhone was easy as pie.  I had choices for external mail options and I only had to insert my China Mobile SIM card into the device.  I don't pay any other charge except for the usage of the card.  I just configured my pop3 information into the iPhone and I was off and running.  I love the iPhone, but the battery drain is ridiculous.  And I purchased an external battery adapter that makes the entire package too large to use.
I'd really appreciate any help you could provide.

I might have missed your question, but if it pertains to the additional BlackBerry Data Plan cost, yes that is true.

  • HTTP Mail Support

If any of you use MSN Hotmail, I’m sure you know that they got rid of the POP service some time ago and transferred over to a HTTP mail service. While this is good for the fact that you can sync between multiple devices (phone and laptop, etc), it makes it hard finding programs that work with it. Are there any plugins for the standard Mail client, or other programs all together, that have support for HTTP mail? Thanks.

Select the Mail application in the Finder, choose Get Info from the File menu and check the box to open the application in Rosetta; you can then use this plugin to access Hotmail.

  • How large a database of email will Mail support?

I am considering moving from Eudora and have almost 20 years of mail with several hundred nested mailboxes and almost 1GB of mail.
I tried importing into Mail a couple of years ago (when using 10.4 and a PowerBook) and found Mail very slow, I have since upgraded to a MacBook.
My question is, does the current version of Mail handle large volumes of email before I try to import my Eudora mail again?
    Tony
ps. before anyone asks, the reason I want to import my mail is that I suspect Eudora may well break in a future OS X update. I still think it is the best email client out there and it is a shame that progress on Eudora 8 and MailForge is so slow (will they ever see the light of day!).

This document does not address Mac OS 10.5. I use latest Leopard 10.5.6. Not updated to 10.5.7 yet. I have the same problem. I have very large mail in Eudora. I started to use Mail several years ago anticipating that I may have to move away from Eudora someday. Since then I am having a lot of problems with Mail. If Snow Leopard does not improve Mail in a major way then in my opinion it cannot be used to replace Eudora.
I have one unusual problem with Mail that I would like to seek help, please. Mail is extremely slow as I have a lot of mail come to my account some with large attachments. I did what this document says and made folders and moved my emails there. Then I erased the emails I moved to a folder from the Inbox to reduce its size. However, when I start the computer again, it goes and brings back all those emails I erased back to the inbox from the server. Then I end up with the same huge amount of mail again. I tried this several times with no luck. All the removed mail just comes back. I use a POP account so it should not come back as they are supposed to be deleted after a certain time, but it does not help.
Does anyone know a solution to this problem, please?
If Eudora does not work in the future then I am not sure what I am going to do. I purchased several copies of MailForge (Odysseus) but there is no news from them when it will be released. I think they are doing an amazing job trying to rescue Eudora. They have my full support. If they succeed they will have the most amazing and successful email client. People may not realize but email client is the most continuously and extensively used software by all the professionals that rely on email as their main communication. Therefore, it will be a major accomplishment if MailForge succeeds. I sincerely hope that it will.

  • TS3899 Mail not actually sent from iPhone 5

I have an iPhone 5 running up-to-date software (iOS 7.0.4)and twice in the past 2 months, it has stopped sending emails out. The sending mail sound happens, and the status bar shows up, making it look like the email has sent, but it isn't received and it isn't in my sent mail. This happens about once a month and the only fix that's working is restarting the phone. I've tried deleting and adding the two email accounts, but that hasn't worked. I have gmail and Outlook accounts on the phone and it happens with both of them.  Is there a more permanent fix than a monthly reboot? I always lose a bunch of work before I realize that my emails aren't going out, and since they aren't in my sent folder, there's no way to retrieve and re-send the messages. It's very frustrating.

What you are describing along with the fix that works sounds like a memory issue.  I tell all of our users that mobile devices in general work better with a weekly stop of all running apps and reset.  It is not an elegant solution but as a practical matter it makes things work way better.  I'd guess that 10-15% of the  posts placed on these forums are solved by a reset such as described in these articles..

  • Does Mail support Yahoo Account ?

I have a Mac account, a POP account but am unable to set up my Yahoo account, as I keep getting an error message "Trying to log into the IMAP server “imap.mail.yahoo.com” has failed." even I have the correct username and password.
Could anyone let me know whether Yahoo! is supported at all with Mail ? And if yes, any helpful tips to configure the email account correctly or where to find the resource ?

Thanks Roger for the kind advice, this is much appreciated and now I know how to proceed.
I use a HTC Touch phone (great device by the way...) and can configure all my email accounts and synch without any problems whatsoever (a Mac email account, a POP email account and an IMAP Yahoo account) so probably Apple is still lagging a little bit behind Microsoft in certain crucial areas still.
