Go to Setting>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, then go through the setup screens on your device and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts. Be sure your device is connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup.

Hi All,
I have had to reset my laptop to factory settings and reinstall iTunes. I backed up all my songs and apps and have now put all songs back in to iTunes. However, now i cannot drag songs or apps from my iTunes to my iPhone.
It only gives me the 'no entry' style icon when i drag it across rather than the 'plus' icon to add items to the iPhone.
Any ideas how to get round this or will i have to clear the phone and start again?
Any help would be very appreciated.See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Question: how can I retrieve my iTunes, mad configure across all 3 pieces of kit.
I have had to reset my iPad 2 to factory settings, and in so doing lost iTunes and photos.
This has been a very long term issue with my Icloud account. It's never worked on my mac notebook, iPad nor recently purchased iPhone 4.
This issue has been compounded by bad advice from Apple Helpine who is insisted I recreate an Apple ID using a gmail account.
A meeting at a Genius Bar discredited this advice and promised to send me an email explaining how to get, retrieve my mac e address, that email did not arrive.
In desperation I have had to reset my iPad, reset my ID and at least iCloud is now working for the first time.
However I suspect the iTunes is now attached to the gmail account, which I do not wish to receive.Typos mad = and

Please help me. I had to restore my factory settings cause my phone froze and i went to itunes and that was the only way that i saw to do it. im sure it was wrong way to do it but it is done now. I had backuped my contacts and stuff on my itunes account and now i dont know how to get them back on my phone. i have it plugged into my computer. that is as far as i can get. please help me. i dont have one number memorized.
thanks. unfortunately my computer backs up my stuff every time i connect it so the back up didnt have anything on it. becasue i was connecting it and unconnecting it. idk. what to do now. if there was a way to restore it to an even earlier setting i would. if you have any ideas please help?.... thanks so much for your time.

Yes. You have to erase the device in Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings.

I am sick of getting hacked..... This is the 3rd time my account has been hacked. This time it has only been for $30-40 but it is very alarming that it is getting hacked at all. I have changed my password agian to a random thing. Lets see how long I can stay hacked free this time. If this continues I may have to put a formal complaint in to Apple. And maybe only buy non-apple products....
EllenIt's most likely not you, no matter what they say. I have noticed a LOT of fraud with itunes, even with my own account. One time I caught them doing a database restore. I know this because my password automagically reverted back to an old one! I'm an IT guy who helped design DOD classified networks in the mid-pacific. I know security. The best protection for this is to NOT have a credit card listed in iTunes. Use iTunes cards ONLY. It's a pain, but until they step up, it's all you got.

Without access, you're gonna have to wait until you reach the 5 authorized computer limit, then you can de-authorize all.

I have had to restore my ipad to factory settings, having made a backup on my pc first. When Ihave tried to restore from my pc I have no apps!! Please can anyone help me get them back with all their data. I don't have wifi at home and I have never been able to sync my pc with my ipad, although it works with my iphone! I copied all of the apps before I restored using itunes, but no idea where they are copied to. Any help would be hugely appreciated to get my daughters games back. Thank you in advance )

Yes the purchases were made though my apple id.
I have looked at a few other questions on this topic and I have read that the app data is stored in the backup file but the apps themselves need to be synced back onto the ipad. Someome has mentioned right clicking on sync my ipad but I don't know where to find that to right click on!! Lol.
Again, I really appreciate your time and if by any chance you know where I can 'right click' I would really appreciate you letting me know as I can't get my ipad to sync with my pc at all, although it is being picked up in itunes and it has backed up to itunes okay. GGrrr. Maybe I have something wrong in the settings which is not making them compatible? -

You ought to have backed up your data before nuking Windows...
You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

I had quite a few notes in the 'Notes' app. I suddenly find that all of them, except 3 have disappeared. What could be the reason and how can I get my notes back?
Not fully au fait with iCloud. I don't use it. But if you have done a backup to iCloud then this might help. This reply will refresh your post thereby giving others an opportunity to comment. If you've forgotten your Apple ID, go to iforgot.apple.com
