TS3999 The server responded with an error

I have tried to amend an entry in Calendar, but when closing the entry it reverts to the previous time (Im trying to keep trtack of my work rota and I did overtime) I get the message.
The Server responded with an error
Access to "M&S Felixstowe" in "CJ Work" in account "CJ's Email" is not permitted.
The server responded:
"403" to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueeableOperation.
Can anyone help.
I can use it to enter but not amend!!!!

I am tired of how Yahoo has gotten worse and worse. It is the ONLY account I get problems with DAILY (even after removing and re-adding). AOL will act up once in a while not taking a saved password but accepting it when OK is clicked.... But Yahoo is always responding with such errors.... Today's calendar error is:
The request (CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation) for account “Yahoo” failed.

  • "The Server Responded With An Error"

Y'day I was pasting details of a reserv into ICAL.  it was perhaps too much data.  As soon as I clicked to paste, I got msg "The Server Responded With An Error" & below that was the info I was copying into my calendar.  Then calendar froze.  Then "Force Quit", then reopen Ical & the same msg appears and frozen.  I attempted to drag the msg to trash to no avail.  I rebooted computer.  Everything else is working on my MacBookPro.  I do NOT have Lion.  Thks

That sounds like something went wrong in the database the governs syncing.
Restore from your backup to restore your calendar.
Reset your sync history: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iSync/3.1/en/9247.html and then follow the steps:
Go into iCal > Preferences > Accounts and delete the MobileMe account from here.
If you are using it you can then re-add it and be careful to enter in the correct name and password.
Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
__NOTE: Removing these files will remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
Once the computer is back up and running open iCal and test.

  • I added a reminder in iCal and it froze up.  The error message is:The server responded with an error.

I added a reminder in iCal and it froze up.  The error message I am receiving is:The server responded with an error.  The application then locks up and I can't find out how to resolve the issue.

Check the parameters in your email account against what is recommended by your email provider.
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > account
Have you contacted the support contact at your email provider?

  • ICal issue - "The server responded with an error"

Hi All. I've been having this error pop up on my iCal for the last week after the last iOS update and it's driving me a little batty.
I don't have any shared calendars, appointments loaded in. I'm just running the iCal calendar frm icloud between my Air and my iPhone.
    Error that pops up reads:
The server responded with an error.
The URL ***icloud***/principal/ encountered HTTP error 404. Make sure the URL is correct.
I haven't changed anything in settings. The appointments are still syncing between my computer and phone however, this pop up comes up every 5-30 seconds on my computer if iCal is open.
Ideas on how to fix it?

Is this the pop-up you get?
The request for account “[email protected]” failed.
    The server responded with
    “HTTP/1.1 502 Bad Gateway”
    to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation.
I've never seen it before but am getting it this evening (UK time). Also if I try to log in to MMe Calendar it's not logging in but going to 'find my iPhone' like it did when Mail was mucking about a few weeks back.

  • ICal: The server responded with an error. The event ... was rejected by iCloud because it already exists

I exported my ical to send to a friend, then opened it to make sure that it would work to find out that it duplicated all my events, this how now left me with an infinite error message of "The server responded with an error. ... event already exists".
Please help! It took me amny hours to organise my school calender and deleteing it is not an option.

Yes where is the easy fix? I imported a calendar from my kids school district and whenever I enter a new event the error message for all events pops up.....The solution suggested by one is extremely cumbersome so I did not even try it....
Apple where r u with user friendliness? Please

  • HT2513 The server responded with an error

I received the message "The server responded with an error" while copy and pasting details for an event into the iCalendar. It is now frozen and wont close or go away. UGH!!

Me too!  Below is the entire message I receive and it began slowly about a week ago (i.e. the message would pop up periodically).  Now I can't use the calendar without receiving this message.
The server responded with an error.
The URL https://caldav.calendar.yahoo.com/principals/users/*******.******@sbcglobal.net///caldav.calendar.yahoo.com/principals/users/*******.******@sbcglobal.net/ encountered HTTP error 404. Make sure the URL is correct.

  • "The server responded with an error" - Calendar

I get the error message "The server responded with an error" every five minutes from the calendar app, along with the following:
"The URL https://calendar.google.com/calendar/dav/[my e-mail is here]/user/ encountered HTTP error 404. Make sure the URL is correct.
I used to sync a google calendar but deleted it because I don't use it anymore. I just want the error message to go away.
    Thanks for your help!

My use case is slightly different; we still use our google calendar inside "iCal", and we got the same error text.
Not sure whether this will solve it longer-term, but I simply deleted the Google account from Calendar / Accounts...  and then re-added it. After ~20 minutes, the pop-up has not popped up, so I'm calling this 'success' for now.
    Here's how:
In Calendar on the Mac, choose Calendar / Accounts... ( this will open System Preferences / Internet Accounts )
Find the Google account which is syncing its calendar to iCal
Select it (click) and then remove it by clicking the minus icon [ - ] below the list of accounts. Read and confirm that you're removing the account. It's your choice.
Close (quit) Calendar if you have not already closed it. This may not be necessary, but I quit the application just the same.
Back in Internet Accounts, click the [+] to add a new account. Choose Google.
Enter your Google account name and password. Choose Calendar and un-check any that you do not want.
Re-open Calendar and the google calendars should re-sync and display as expected. If you chose any custom colors, you may need to reset them according to your preferences.
I hope this helps. Good luck!

  • "The server responded with an error. The server is currently unreachable or the connection was blocked"

Hi, since this morning i receive this message on my Mac Air (10.8.5) when i open iCal (which is synced through iCloud): "The server responded with an error. The server is currently unreachable or the connection was blocked". You know what it can be?
    Thanks for your help!

Are you behind a firewall at work or elsewhere?  Does you calendar sync with some other system like google (could be the google server is not responding)?  All we know from the message is that your mac cannot reach the server.  Maybe try later.  Are you using wifi or have an ethernet connection to the router?

  • The server responded with an error.  Access to "Don Weist/Winhall" in "Work" in account "iCloud" is not permitted.  The server responded: "403" to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation.

Does anyone know how to repair this problem.  It just began happening today.
    Thanks,
    Ken

We previously had a similar issue when migrating multiple accounts from MobileMe to iCloud.  The issue was resolved by disabling and then enabling iCal sync through iCloud on our iMacs in System Preferences.
Always backup your calendar before troubleshooting (File > Export > iCal Archive).
The following steps are roughly from a Apple Support Community discussion.
    Open iCloud in System Preferences.
Switch off (uncheck) iCal sync in iCloud System Preferences pane.
Backup iCal before doing this. You will need to remove calendar data.
Open iCal and verify the iCloud account is removed in the iCal preferences under accounts.
Close iCal, reopen System Preference and switch on (check) iCal sync in iCloud System Preferences pane.
Reopen iCal and verify the iCloud account is enabled in the iCal preferences under accounts.
At this point if the problem persists you might try completely signing out of iCloud and then signing back in. But remember to backup all related data (iCal, Contacts, Mail, Photostream, etc) before turning off iCloud sync!

  • "The server responded with an error" when modifying or deleting an item

I can't modify or edit an item in my MobileMe syncronized calendar. I can move the item to a different date or time, but if I try to delete it or remove an attendee, I get the following error:
The server responded with an error.
The request for “***” in “Calendar” in account ***.***@me.com” failed.
    The server responded with
    “500”
    to operation CalDAVWriteEntityQueueableOperation.
I can't delete the item, or remove attendees from me.com either.
If I create another appointment, I can delete it, so I suspect it has something to do with the fact that I have invited attendees.
    Any suggestions?

  • The server responded with an error. (not MobileMe related)

    Hello,
At work, some people are getting this message on their computer:
*The server responded with an error.*
There was an unexpected error with the request (domain CalDAVErrorDomain / error 5 / description 'The server has not specified a calendar home for the account at "/ -- http://192.168.[my edit:rest of address]".').
    Can anyone please help?

AppleMan - you're a star! Thank you very much. Bit late in coming to the rescue - just like the Cavalry always was, allegedly - but nevertheless very welcome. It has sorted the problem out for me, and probably many others who, like me, did not know that there was an empty box waiting for the Password!
    Cheers and thanks. Case closed
    Chris
